QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 07:41 PM) It's nice to see Judy have a good 1-2-3 first inning. :headshake

Nice start by Jon so far. 2 up 2 down.

QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 07:34 PM) Wouldn't it be better for Dye to be batting 3rd? I stated that earlier. I'm assuming Ozzie likes to do the alternating righty/lefty thing with our offense. He feels that it gives our offense some type of advantage. I guess he doesn't think righty/lefty matchups are beneficial to the opponent's offense since he will not use those matchups with his bullpen.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) Comcast said it's a strained quad, and Thome was walking very gingerly tonight. I hope he's ready for the Detroit series.

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 07:24 PM) I hope he untweaks it quick. Considering the trajectory of this team, this isn't a good time to be without our best hitter. We'll be fine. Our bench is solid. Stupid gameday seems to be stalling. What's going on in Detroit?

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but I see that Thome isn't in the lineup. Is he just getting the night off, or is there an injury? Thanks Tweaked groin.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) Not sure if this helps, but it is CLTV on Digital cable. Maybe same with DirecTV. No CLTV on DirecTv. At least I don't think so. EDIT: Found it. Channel 668.

What channel is CSN+ on DirecTv?

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 06:49 PM) Good news, out 3rd hitter has a .347/.383/.488 line against right-handed pitching this seaosn. Bad news: he's .190/.261/.238 w/RISP -- GIDP to end the first anyone? oddly, he's .391/.436/.540 with both of his HRs when the bases are empty. I would have had Dye bat 3rd but what do I know?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 06:29 PM) THOME IS OUT TONIGHT! Gload is in at 1B, Kong at DH. he is day to day with a tweaked groin I guess this will have Ozzie think twice about starting JI at 1st in the NL parks.

Another Schedule Change
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) It's going to take something like that to have him start in our series. However, that'd only have him on the Friday game. So it definitely wouldn't be the Fox or ESPN games. As a full season ticketholder that would be fine by me.

Another Schedule Change
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 06:24 PM) Not happening. He debuts on (6/22), a Thursday. The Astros are in town Friday-Sunday. Perhaps his final AAA start will be rained out, causing his comeback to be delayed by a day?

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 05:00 PM) Haha, I wonder how many times Garland has had the real starting lineup behind him. He's definitely had the bench/real lineups more. Anyone else surprised AJ is in? I thought he messed up his hand yesterday.

Official Get Jermaine Dye to start the ALL Star game Thread
QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 04:51 PM) Well, sure, the whole system is flawed. That's my point. I'm not arguing that you shouldn't do what you're doing, either. It's just a completely asinine system. I'm sure that MLB could do something to ensure that a person could only vote once. Like maybe tying your vote to your phone number or something. I concur.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) This is what I really hate about the All Star Game. Allowing the fans to vote may have some merit, but it's just way too easy to commit fraud. The best players don't get voted in... the ones with the most aggressive fans do. And MLB doesn't care. :headshake Same concept with paper ballots. You can fill out as many as you like. And how is Dye getting in over Damon not getting the better player in?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 04:07 PM) Anderson gets the start against the Righty at home. He's 8/24 with 3 home runs against righties at home. Which is exactly why I was baffled when Ozzie said he was going to have him go primarily against lefties. He's been awful vs lefties.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) we might as well do an all sox ballot. That's what I did 125 times today. No BA though. Wrote in Thome as the 3rd OF. Will probably do a few hundred more during the game tonight.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:46 PM) Joe Crede or PK is a better bet, since they only have to pass 2 people and not 7. We can get all 3 in if we do an all Sox ballot.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) If we concentrate on 1 guy, I think we can do it. I'll continue to do my best. So correct me if I'm wrong...you can use a made up email address for every 25 votes?
