  1. Well the All Star Break is just about here. What kinds of trades/deals/call-ups do we need to get done to tweak this team for a WS run? My suggestions: - Move Konerko down a spot or 2 in the lineup. He is slower than molasses and doesn't seem to be driving in as many key runs as he did earlier in the year. Maybe give Dye the clean-up duties. He is hitting the ball out with more regularity as of late. - Make a deal for a solid starter. Doesn't nessarily need to be an ace but I'd like a proven winner, preferably with post season experience. I can do without Contreras. - Get a good lefty for the bullpen that can actually get lefties out. - Trade for a solid utility infielder who can play 1st and 3rd. Get rid of guys like Harris, Timo and Ozuna. They are worthless. Any thoughts?
  2. So who does Gload replace?
  3. I didn't realize Clement made the team.
  4. So now who's the ASG starter? Halladay?
  5. As s***ty as we play against Oakland look at the Twins. They are having some major problems against the Royals. They're about to lose 2 of 3 to that AAA team.
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) Would you like to be in it? SoxFan1, you have to be #3. Sorry. I'm all over it. Make me vice-president of this club.
  7. Why is Walker on a major league roster??? Boggles my mind.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) In other news, I've changed my sig to reflect my feelings on PK. Finally. Someone agrees with me. This guy is highly over-rated. Slowest man in baseball. Any decent clean-up man would have 65+ RBIs by now with the amount of time Pods and Gooch have been on base this year. I will be very angry if we re-sign Paulie next year....big waste of money.
  9. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) Come On Emil Brown. This is hilarious. We have all become the biggest Royals fans for a day.
  10. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) Why does the Royals announcer always sound like he is gasping for breath? This is the same more moron that kept calling Jon "Jeremy Garland" when I was out there for work. Pathetic.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Should we change this to the KC-Twins gamethread? More exciting than our game.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) YES! That will really cheer up my day! Well it's a little better than us losing and the Twins winning.
  13. KC threatening in the 6th. (Have to look at the silver lining)
  14. Oh well. So we lose today. Big deal it's only one game. Freddy will get 'em tomorrow.
  15. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) What a pathetic letdown tonight. 9 game lead. Probably 8 going into the ASG. The wheels are falling off this team. Come on folks. Lets not over-react. Oakland has our number and the Twins have a very tough schedule after the break.
  16. We better start praying that Oakland doesn't get the wildcard.
  17. I brought this up a few weeks ago.....why is Paulie our clean up man? He should be batting 5th or 6th. Jermaine is hitting much better and has comparable power numbers. I am going to be embarassed when the announcers bring up Paulie's numbers at the ASG. He should be hovering around .230 by then.
  18. I liked what I saw from Jenks the other day. I usually don't get excited about our farmhands until they actually play in the big leagues. And now that he has played up here....I'm excited.
  19. Way to go Shingo!!!!
  20. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) Despite the inning BMac just had, Cotts would be more effective blindfolded for the next 5. IMHO. He's settling in. Lets give him a chance.
  21. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 10:38 PM) He just broke his non-pitching hand punching something in the dugout. He also always starts out hot and then sucks in the second half. And why would the Rangers want to trade a starting pitcher? They NEED starting pitching. They wouldn't trade it away. I know it sounded nuts but just seems like Texas is dropping games faster than Paris Hilton can drop to her knees. They need young pitching prospects because they are going nowhere this year. Rogers is 85 years old.
  22. Why not go for Kenny Rogers? At this rate Texas will be 10 games out of the wild card race by the all star break. He's old and I'm sure they wouldn't mind getting a young pitching prospect or 2. I know it sounds crazy but all this trade talk we're doing is speculative anyway.
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) 432 feet on Dye's bomb. Wow. Has he ever had anyone on when hitting one out? Just wondering.
  24. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:47 AM) "Mariners Notebook: Trade talks still swirling" http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/baseball/230354_mbok28.html Anyone interested in old man Moyer? I would be. El Duque scares me with all his trips to the DL. He hasn't looked good since before he went on the DL the first time.
