QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) Notice the common denominator there... We finally have a CFer now... Then why was Pods playing CF after the Rios trade? That should never have occurred and which proves my point that Ozzie will throw guys out of position in the OF.

QUOTE (ChiSox420* @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) Who else was on the team at those times who would have been a better option? For instance last year i was under the impression we acquired Rios to play CF but he'd play in RF with Pods in CF.
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:48 PM) Ozzie and KW already both said Quentin is likely to go to right. That puts the OF's where they should be - Pierre in LF, Rios in CF, TCQ in RF. I'm talking about all the times we've seen Pods in CF, Mackowiak in CF, Wise in CF, etc.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) The Mariners are building a team and have reportedly kicked the tires around Jenks. Phillies could do the same.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:26 PM) He should not play CF, except in a pinch. He needs to be in left, imo, and even with the arm, he's a better defensive left fielder than Pods. Does anyone really trust Ozzie to put the correct guys in the 3 OF spots? I know I don't.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:15 PM) *wonders where the outcry over this statement is...* The last incident was thoroughly explained by the admins and the issue was settled....yet you have to come here to stoke more fires.

What obvious differences are there in our lives now that there is a Dem controlled Congress and Executive branch?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) So if we added Albert Pujols would you ask "Do we know Albert will produce the same numbers in the AL?" I get the AL is the better league. But people get ridiculous sometimes. see Matt Holiday
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:23 AM) You don't have to be happy with the move. But you're kinda nitpicking now. Pierre is more than capable of hitting .290-.300 in the AL. You're just assuming something that's never happened.
-
Pods proved that he could hit pretty well in the AL, something that Pierre has never done since he's always been on an NL team. So what does his .300 average last year translate to in the superior AL?
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:11 AM) I'd take Pierre over Pods defensively, from what admitedly little I know of Pierre. And I think Pierre is less of a health risk than Pods. Therefore, to me, Pierre > Pods, and probably for less money than what Pods is looking for. Not that I think Pierre is fantastic - just that he is a slightly better and younger Pods. I just don't see that much different in the 2 and you're getting rid of a fan favorite, meaning casual fans.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 10:54 AM) What thread am I in? Doesn't matter. Might as well merge the 2 threads as both parties, with very few exceptions, are nothing but corporate shills.

He's a slight improvement over Pods for more money.

Watched the original The Yes Men last night. Outstanding.

I'm officially done with the DNC. They'll never get a penny out of me ever again. I'll only support progressive candidates for Congress and most likely Green Party candidates for President.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) I actually agree with you. I think Jenks is going to have a tremendous season. Why? Is he finally dedicated to taking care of his body? Will he reverse the trend of blowing key saves against inferior lineups? Will he cease to have "medical issues" such as "kidney stones"?

I'd deal him to anyone that wants him.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 04:52 PM) I disagree and say that it is earth shattering by comparrison. Everythgn these people did now needs to be redone, with extra emphasis on everything being done aboveboard and in the open. That means many more years of study, millions more dollars, etc. Basing any decisions of the outcomes of thier data would almost be criminal considering that the data is untrustworthy, at best. They hid data, refused to disclose data, manipulated data to get desired results, ignored data that didnt fit, 'lost' thier base data, and they had an inner circle of devoitees that peer reviewed each other. Are you under the assumption that all climate change science studying/testing in the world was performed by these particular scientists?

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 02:02 PM) Please ignore this post. It has lots of hyperbole and frustration. LOL. Vlads? Thome? Try Mark Kotsay. And the worst Sox offense of all time. Ugh. I really wanted Matsui bad. But hey, we have Alex Rios at 10 mil a year. Take the shotgun barrel out of your mouth and step away from the ledge.
