Has anyone used this moving storage service provider? Thoughts?
  2. ESPN.com lists Torres as the starter on Saturday. We need a catch all for little tidbits like this.
  3. The one down side of having the worst record for division leaders is losing home field advantage in round one. It'll be tough going to Anaheim or NY/Boston for the 1st 2 games in a short series.
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 07:27 PM) When you're suffocating to death, you look like a Muppet.
  5. Nice to see Beckham signing lots of autographs before the game.
  6. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 05:51 PM) Like in 1996 when he hit 15+ homeruns the other way? Pulling out stats from 13 years ago to characterize how a player is currently playing. Nice
  7. I think the piling on was due to this board being filled with so many pessimists and for once we are all excited and optimistic about something Sox related.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 04:30 PM) Don't direct Y2HH to this thread. He only lurks in 2 threads. The cleansing thread and the health care one.
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 04:23 PM) Further, the Sox are 9th in average ticket price, and same rank for fan-cost-index, in 2009. So, top third in price, barely. The 8 teams more expensive, in order of expense: Red Cubs, Regular Cubs, Yankmes, Cards, Mets, Giants, Phils and Stros. See how funny/misleading/manipulative statistics can be? According to avg ticket price Stros are top 8. But the graph Chi Sox posted would lead one to believe they are the best bargain in MLB.
  10. via Cowley's twitter: Bobby Jenks still in the hospital with kidney stone. No timetable for a return yet.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) I will take Beckham and am dam glad he is hear for years to come! Are you Jack Handey?
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) Correct me if I'm wrong, I was out of state for the latter half of 05, but when Frank went down he did rotate our DH spot, no? Everett played the field sometimes I thought. True but I can see Ozzie rotating only because of injuries.
  13. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 03:25 PM) Did your computer run out of green? I figured after 14K posts most people would realize 98% of what I post is sarcastic.
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) That should just teach you not to see really bad movies. Good sci-fi thrillers are hard to come by. I didn't think that one was too bad.
  15. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 02:49 PM) How long of a ride is it to Mars or its moon? For some reason I'm thinking I read about 4 years given today's technology.
  16. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 02:48 PM) I wonder if they would've been better off just putting Ramirez on the DL. It makes one long for Willie Harris as a backup.
  17. QUOTE (rockren @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 02:42 PM) I'm surprised he hasn't been called "The New Hurt" That's what she said
  18. Fascinating. I loved 2001 btw. One of my all time favorite flicks.
  19. *adds some penicillin to thread to cleanse impurities*
  20. Also noticed Wise hasn't gotten a start in a while. Good to see he's being used appropriately.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 02:29 PM) MDGonzales--Sox lineup: Pods cf, Beckham 3b, Dye rf, Thome dh, Konerko 1b, AJ c, Quentin lf, Getz 2b, Nix ss, Floyd p. Ramirez out for 6th straight game Hmm. Wtf. Nix is a nice sub and all but he needs to get back to bench duties.
  22. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 02:20 PM) Sorry, I've just never really been a fan of comparing players to other players. The heck with all these decades of history in the sport. Comparisons are for losers.
  23. QUOTE (SockMe @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 01:01 PM) I mean 38 for autofield is bad Huh?
