  1. I WAS AT THE GAME IN THE FIRST ROW BEHIND THE WHITE SOX DUGGOUT AND SAW THE THING HAPPEN AND THEN HEARD OZZIE SAY "CRAZY GUY, CRAZY" (WHILE STARRING AT THE GUY ON THE NET)... IT WAS PRETTY STRANGE! P.S. Paulie threw me a ball and I was the kid wearing the Black Sox shirt and Sox hat... Some friends saw me. Here is the picture of me and my friend. Thanks GreaseyWheels!
  2. I'm from New York and know for a fact (like the other guys stated) that there is NO WAY in hell David Wright gets traded, as much as I like him... It wouldn't happen. Beltran is also very doubtful but who knows, there has been crazier things that have happened.
  3. I was just throwing it out there... Thanks for the comments
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) Why would Cincinatti want Konerko? Plus they already have too many outfielders, why would they want Sweeney? Why would Philadelphia want Contreras instead of Wagner? Cincy is looking to unload anything and getting rid of Griffey saves them money and Konerko is a free agent after this year so they will let go of him saving even more money and Sweeney is just thrown in to help their Minor League system -- they want to get very young so we'll give them a AA guy. Philly wants Starting Pitcher... They are no longer in the hunt so there working on building for the next few years with their rotation
  5. These are my own trades I would make if possible... Please Comment Trade: • The Cincinnati Reds trade CF Ken Griffey Jr. and to Chicago White Sox for 1B Paul Konerko and Minor League Prospect OF Ryan Sweeney. • The Philadelphia Phillies trade Billy Wagner to the Chicago White Sox for RHP Jose Contreras and Minor League Prospect RHP Jeff Bajenaru. RHP Bobby Jenks 6. RHP Dustin Hermanson 7. LHP Billy Wagner
  6. Team USA is short on quality Infielders/Outfielders like some of these latin countries... it's crazy! And all of the guys on my version can take the ball out of the yard but I think Bonds may be just enough to scare some other teams, not that I like him, because I DO NOT
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Um, to quote Gary Sheffield: "My season is when I get paid," Sheffield told the New York Daily News. "I'm not doing that. ... I'm not sacrificing my body or taking a chance on an injury for something that's made up." And I also don't see a guy like Barry Bonds, a.k.a. the most selfish player in baseball history to whom everybody and everything is racist, going out to proudly represent his country. I understand... that's why I didn't put him on MY team (as you can see above), I just put him as possible guys for people to see.

  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 07:12 PM) A-Rod was born and raised in America. New York. EXACTLY, being from New York I am ashamed he turned his back on the state and the country to represent something that he has never talked about in the past...
  10. Here are some guys by position I would think would proudly represent their country, unlike A-Rod... The team can only consist of 27 players (at least 12 pitchers)... SP: Tim Hudson, John Smoltz, Mark Prior, Mark Buehrle, Jon Garland, Josh Beckett, Dontrelle Willis, Roger Clemens, Roy Oswalt, Ben Sheets, Randy Johnson, Jake Peavy, Chris Carpenter, Roy Halladay RP: BJ Ryan, Cliff Politte, Brad Lidge, Scott Shields, Joe Nathan, Tom Gordon, Justin Duchscherer, Billy Wagner, Jason Isringhausen C: AJ Pierzynski, Paul Lo Duca, Joe Mauer, Mike Piazza 1B: Derrek Lee, Paul Konerko, Adam Dunn (OF), Todd Helton, Darin Erstad, Jim Thome, Mark Teixeira 2B: Marcus Giles, Brian Roberts, Jeff Kent SS: Derek Jeter, Bobby Crosby, Michael Young 3B: Chipper Jones, Morgan Ensberg, David Wright, Eric Chavez, Scott Rolen, Hank Blalock LF: Scott Posednik, Garrett Anderson, Barry Bonds, Carl Crawford CF: Ken Griffey Jr., Juan Pierre, Torii Hunter, Mark Kotsay, Brian Giles, Jim Edmonds RF: Lance Berkman, Gary Sheffield DH: Frank Thomas, Travis Hafner
  11. A-Rod has turned his back on America after Bud Selig screwed up the all-star format again and decided he will represent the Dominican Republic in the 2006 Baseball Classic... Anyone want to discuss possible TEAM USA roster minus A-rod. Talk here
  12. Guys, I just read after 1 full day of voting Scotty was a "hair" behind Derek Jeter and I've done my part voting but unfortunately we need everyone here to vote as often as they can until 7pm tonight for Scotty to get in... Please do your part to represent the White Sox and Scott Posednik! VOTE EARLY, VOTE OFTEN... - Mike
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 03:21 AM) It was worth a shot. Can't hate on a guy for wanting to go to school. As a college student at a big school with many great sports programs (Indiana University), I can't argue going to school to play for the defending national champions for baseball...
  14. That sucks... From what I heard about this guy, he sounds like an excellent prospect.
  15. Honestly, we have no one SUPER STAR, if anything we have bunch of well above average, very solid players but the best thing for this team is the attitude they have taken on from our manager, Ozzie Guillen. He has lite some kind of fire under every players ass...
  16. Can anyone give a little brief scouting reporting on each of these prospects?
  17. Yeah... That Dominican team looks mighty tough and the projected lineup for Team USA is the typical veteran All-Stars... I'm not sure if that is the best chance of winning, maybe some younger speedy guys like a Posednik wouldn't be bad!
  18. Yeah... Unfortunately, I do remember that -- but that was different. That was amateurs. This tourney will be all MLB players
  19. I understand that these are just early numbers but I'm baffled... And just can't thank Frank enough
  20. I know in the limited time back, we've all seen what the Big Hurt can do but has anyone noticed some of his projected numbers, especially for home runs if he continues at this pace... Currently he has 4 HR's in his limited time playing with the Sox but if he continues to see limited time like he has he still PROJECTED to HIT 47 HOME RUNS.... WOW. I know it's early in "his" season but DAMN!
  21. Yesterday, I picked up the latest Baseball America Magazine to read more about this upcoming "World Tournament" starting right around Spring Training next year and it looks very cool. Obviously, the United States is the favorite to win and I'd be extremely mad if we pulled a Team USA Basketball and lost at our own game but some of those others teams especially in South America/Latin America and the Carribbean could suprise a few people. The Sox seem to be well represented in the "projections." They have Ozzie coaching for his country and Iguchi playing for Japan, etc. I was a little suprised with their projection as Bobby Cox as Team USA's manager and the lineup seemed to be the perfect All-Star team but we'll see how it goes. If you guys have a chance and are intrested, I'd pick up a copy and take a look, it's a good read... Later! - Mike
  22. Sean is almost equal to Joe but minus some of the power (mentioned before)... both are classic high-profile minor leaguers that play the hot corner and have yet to live up to their expectations in the majors so far... I expect the Sox to hold on to Crede, especially if they are looking at guys like Burroughs who may not be half the player Joe could be...
  23. I'm going to go out on a limb and pray for a sweep... There is no reason we shouldn't be able to take all three games while out in Cali. Afterall, we are the "best" team in baseball.
  24. Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing... It sure has been a long time since we have seen Dustin.
  25. I understand Whisler was a college first basemen and also pitched a bit... Is there a shot we may see him do both in his road threw the minors because of the lack of depth the Sox have at 1B prospects in the Minors?
