  1. Some lady with 6 kids already just had octuplets (yea fertility drugs!). I just saw a media report and I guess the lady has no job, isn't married, and has 14 kids now. LOL
  2. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Feb 1, 2009 -> 03:12 AM) You aren't insinuating that Joe Biden is somehow worse than Sarah Palin? My post clearly states they are both lousy.
  3. The truth is Biden is absolutely horrible as well.Unfortunately, most of this country is extremely dumb and vote based on celebrity opinion and marketing slogans. The American public demanded a stupid VP and both parties obliged. Obama needed to market his 'hard working white guy, Joe Biden'. McCain needed some evangelical lady who likes to go moose hunting on the ticket. and oh yes, the media. Well, basically you will have the pro-Democrat new such as CNN or MSNBC on one side and FOX on the other. Of course fanatic Democrats will see no pro-Dem bias in CNN and MSNBC; their GOP counterparts will see no pro-GOP bias in FOX. Both are dumb. See Earlier portion of post.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 12:50 PM) People are scared because they are frightened at the possibility that someday someone as smart as Richard Simmons might actually run this country. There's one running the Senate right now. come to think of it, the Speaker of the House is just as bad.
  5. QUOTE (Nixon @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 07:52 AM) I'm currently the high-bidder on #59. Woot. haha nice
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 03:44 PM) I bet Rush jizzed in his pants when he heard that.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) You also have to get INTO a college. I actually do not know what the requirements are like to attend a community college nowadays - if just anyone with a HS Diploma or GED can get in? Not sure on that one. I think a community college accepts anyone with a GED or HS diploma.
  8. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 10:19 AM) The planted kid during the little town meeting in front of Blago's house was pretty shameful. That was the best part. Classic move.
  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 09:37 AM) Have Rush's ratings gone down since the election? Just curious if this "pub" is somehow linked to a need for listenership. Probably not. I know FOX has had a ratings boom, I would suspect Limbaugh may be up in the ratings as well. Rush does love this attention though; makes him feel important when the president is calling him out.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 03:03 PM) "We are being told that we have to hope he succeeds, that we have to bend over, grab the ankles, bend over forward, backward, whichever, because his father was black, because this is the first black RNC Chair." What, only works one way? on que
  11. I hope Steele wins. Best person for the job IMO
  12. just more Rush Limbaugh hysteria
  13. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 07:14 PM) I'm going to go run up a couple billion dollars of debt actually, are you on board? if the government throws me a few $ million, i promise i'll spend it all and that should help the economy.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 07:04 PM) That's a joke because no one in those two tax brackets actually pays any taxes. They get it all back with the deductions and the credits that fall into those brackets. hmm, i just looked at the tax bracket breakdown and thats probably true for most cases. i suppose it might help someone at the high end of the 15% http://www.moneychimp.com/features/tax_brackets.htm
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 05:24 PM) Well BO, then maybe, just maybe, y'all should have thought about that before you passed the bill giving them $350 billion no-strings-attached. You were in the Senate at the time. You were the nominee at the time. (Although, on second thought, maybe having a President who actually reads the morning newspapers like the Wall Street Journal, and then actually reacts to their content, maybe there is something to be said for that). Just give them another trillion in bailouts. That'll fix it.
  16. even on his way out, blago in front of his house, still talking about how he's for the 'little guy' and even took a shot at GW Bush. Truly an archetype Democrat. I salute you, Rod Blagojevich.
  17. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 04:39 PM) Rod will never serve in a public office in Illinois ever ever again. 59-0 there's always Minnesota
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 04:49 PM) I figured that's what you meant but I wasn't sure. i've been watching too much blagojevich coverage i think. it's messing with my brain.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 04:46 PM) I think you meant to put a negative in one of those options because it looks like you're saying the same thing. dude i fixed it. stop replying so fast.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 04:18 PM) True, good point. The districts that they'd be in danger of losing, the Dems have most of those anyway right now. It's more dangerous for a Republican to vote for these bailout/stimulus bills right now than to go against them.
  21. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) Then you run the risk of looking like pussies like the Dems did circa 2003-2005, the GOP is in "back to basics" mode right now. At least the House is, I don't know about the Senate. i think that is a risk worth taking in the current environment. but the GOP often does things i disagree with.
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) In the Senate with cloture rules, they need at least a couple cross-overs. I think they will ensure that with a few tasty tax cuts. i heard something about lowering the 10% tax bracket to 5% and the 15% to 10%. that could push the bill into bipartisan landslide territory. as far as cloture, i still think it would be a mistake to drag this out to a neccesary 60 vote. give the dems this bill if they want it IMO.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 03:32 PM) The Senate will pass a different bill, with some more GOP-friendly provisions, to clear the 60 with room to spare. The House will then pass that version, then Obama will sign. we shall see. i would definitely like to see some major changes, but the Republicans aren't in charge and i wouldn't expect to see major changes. i could be wrong.
