  1. anyone see this guys rant? it was epic. bravo, bravo. Please, Hillary Clinton, make this guy your running mate.
  2. Here are the sweet, proposed, new cook county taxes. I thought you Dems would be happy to hear about it. • Hiking the sales tax 267 percent • Increasing the gasoline tax 100 percent • Driving up parking taxes 100 percent

  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 11:59 AM) I think Tancredo is actually a bit dangerous to you guys as a potential 3rd party running spoiler. I'm pretty sure he said he wouldn't do that. Also, once conservatives see Hillary Clinton in presidential debates they will get all pissed and vote GOP IMO.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 11:54 AM) The rumors about a third party run led by the anti-choice and religious segments of the Republican Party if Rudy were to win seem to have picked up a lot of steam lately. Well, they can do that if they want. The thing is, if it comes down to it, Giuliani will put a conservative on the supreme court. Pro-abortion Hillary won't. It's more of a power play by the crazy evangelicals than a legit concern about abortion.
  6. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 11:40 AM) I'd bet money that Richardson would rather stay Governor of NM, or take a cabinet post from another candidate, or be a VOP nom, than run for Senate. I think that seat is likely to go Dem anyway, the way NM is going. So I don't think you'll get your wish. "Bill Richardson is a great man, but so is Hillary. I'm not sure who to vote for yet"
  7. I wonder if he'll store his award in a lock box
  8. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 11:28 AM) If "truth" vets a (D), then it's "smear". If "truth" vets a ®, then it's "truth" and it's ok. "There's the truth (shakes head disapprovingly) and the TRUTH (nods head approvingly)"
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 03:20 PM) No wonder Mitt is rich as hell... He likes to "forget" his wallet! http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/20...y-returns-.html haha, he does seem like the kind of person that would be like "ok, drinks are on me. let me get a round over here barkeep." then after drinking his shot be like "oops, forgot my wallet. oh well, later guys"
  10. QUOTE(Cknolls @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 09:40 AM) This is one of those headlines you couldn't make up: As violence falls in Iraq, cemetery workers feel the pinch: At what's believed to be the world's largest cemetery, where Shiite Muslims aspire to be buried and millions already have been, business isn't good. A drop in violence around Iraq has cut burials in the huge Wadi al Salam cemetery here by at least one-third in the past six months, and that's cut the pay of thousands of workers who make their living digging graves, washing corpses or selling burial shrouds. Gotta love the conservative press corps. haha, classic I was watching CNN the other day and Cooper Anderson (yea, the guy that does lame beat poetry during his 'news' cast) reported on Iraq starting off with this "Well, I guess there is good news in Iraq, for once (rolls eyes). " Then he brings on a bunch of guests who talk about how it's not really good news. It was awesome.
  11. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 09:13 PM) Nope. I think they made some good ground the first few weeks after they convened, but after that, they've been nearly worthless. i think they have sucked since day one, but that should come as no surprise
  12. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 08:27 PM) And Bush hits a record low at 24%. But, these are Zogby polls, and they are pretty much worthless. His methods are sloppy at best. do you think congress is doing a good job?
  13. Congress approval ratings drop to 11% http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idU...=22&sp=true
  14. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Oct 16, 2007 -> 08:28 PM) I can definitely see and do acknowledge the political power play that is being made in bringing up the Armenian genocide now to be acknowledged as such. However, the United States was not a party to the Genocide Convention as a signatory until the Reagan administration -- and only then it was done as a backlash to deflect criticism of Reagan's Bitburg visit. The US would be the 23rd nation to recognize the Armenian genocide -- so the US would hardly be breaking new ground here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Genocide Plus, and not to invoke Godwin's Law here, but Hitler was much more emboldened for the Holocaust by famously declaring "Who remembers the annihilation of the Armenians?" The supporter of the genocide convention in me is saddened that the recognition of the Armenian Genocide is coming as what pretty much appears to be a tawdry, political maneuver. However, I am pleased that recognition of a genocide will likely be coming -- and it may carry some weight that the world's superpower deems it a genocide, even if the vote is non-binding. As for Rush, his initial commentary seemed to be geared towards soldiers who came home and became anti-war activists after their experiences. It was nice for a man of his size and stature that he had the wiggle room to get his foot out of his mouth. again with the Reagan stuff lol Oh, this issue was brought up during the Clinton admin, however Clinton asked Dennis Hastert to put it off to the side to help foreign relations. The GOP speaker complied with this request. Pelosi is only going along with it to hurt foreign relations and make things more difficult for president and possibly troops and commanders in Iraq. It really is a scumbag move.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 16, 2007 -> 12:49 PM) he's still rich and hasn't given up everything he owns to help the poor He charges like $50,000 per appearance to talk about poverty
  16. Uh oh. http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/gop-ta...2007-10-16.html
  17. nicely played, mr.limbaugh
  18. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 15, 2007 -> 06:30 PM) Linked http://www.cnn.com/POLITICS/ What a bunch of b.s. Meet the Candidates for the Dems Obama and Clinton for the GOP? Hunter and Brownback. If that aint a clear example of bias, I don't know what is. Two top Dems and two also rans for the Reps. sarcasm?
  19. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 15, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) Yep, the public will talk about his beard and pundits will debate if it makes him more electable I hate the people who vote in this country. ^^^^^ racist anti-beardist! and yes, I am saying people with beards are a completely different race.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 15, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) It could also be over one billion population AND a nuclear bomb? You know, just off the top of my head. why would Mexico want a nuclear bomb?

  22. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Oct 15, 2007 -> 01:56 PM) Al Gore... what a horrible person. don't lie, you love him
  23. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 14, 2007 -> 05:25 PM) Interesting. I'd be curious to see what explanation he has for the CO2 levels being multiple standard deviations from what they have been in hundreds of thousands of years. If he can offer an explanation as to what else has caused such an outlying spike, I'd love to hear it. i would imagine he would attribute the large increases on man made carbon releases. but then he would probably say that it's not the main cause of the warming. just a guess.
