  1. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 02:42 PM) Great memory False Alarm. I actually said Just Say No. So I guess now it's Just Say Yo! I go back and forth. Beans in chili are much less popular down here than up north. sell out! chili should have no beans. and you know this.
  2. haha those nerds. sounds like a good match-up: Buffy worshipping computer nerd vs WWJD bracelet lady.
  3. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) The Goracle, right? He's ready to roll. Go team Goracle.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 1, 2007 -> 09:58 AM) going to sit here and argue well, alrighty then.
  5. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Oct 30, 2007 -> 01:17 PM) Chris Dodd is also the only elected official running for President whose putting his money where his mouth is right now. Oh definitely. Don't leave out John Edwards just because he's not an elected official. he's the real deal, i hope he wins.
  6. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 30, 2007 -> 01:32 PM) mr_genius agreeing with the liberal media over the brave men and women of the NYPD, shocking. I have decided to now vote for who Rosie O'donnell and Al Gore endorse. I've seen the light, my friend.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) outside of his wife and kids? Duke Cunningham maybe?
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) Lol, Dodd, what are you worried about Duncan Hunter too? who isn't?
  9. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 08:25 PM) LOL Yes, I know who Chris Dodd is. I am wondering why you put him in a category with Giuliani and Edwards for slime. Seemed weird to me. I hadn't recalled hearing anything of that nature about him. What have you seen or heard about him along those lines? He talks about how he's really out for the working class and against corporate greed , but was bribed by hedge funds (by far one of his largest donors) and always returns the favor with his voting records. Thats fine if he is for hedge funds and stuff, but spare us the "I'm really out for the little guy" bs. Also his record on the Iraq war is legendary in it's contradiction. He' a total bulls***ter basically. Oh, I also just saw him on Meet the Press, and he really sucked. So thats probably the main reason I put him in that group
  10. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 06:16 PM) \ I guess the Firemen of NY would also have an opinion, perhaps as relevant as Time Magazine. The firefighters union is supporting a Dem over Giuliani? shocking
  11. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 05:14 PM) Dodd? yea, this guy He is running for president as a Dem. Granted, he is polling around 0%
  12. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 05:13 PM) I wouldn't say that's true at all. The farthest reaches of the city are in some cases quite wealthy. There is definitely a push-out from downtown lately though. Still, look at the really poor neighborhoods. The west side generally is very poor, west of Ashland or Damen, but parts of that are very close to downtown. Even Austin is a shorter trip than the far north side. The further northern reaches of the CTA are Evanston, Skokie and Wilmette, which are all affluent suburbs. Going northwest is sort of middle income mixed with other. Southwest, is up and down as you head out the Orange line. Red line and green line south, that's poor all the way out. So I think its a mixed bag. I was referring to the 95th stop, not the skokie or northwest stops. There are large pockets of poverty in the west , there are massive sections of poverty in south with pockets of middles class/more affluent neighborhoods. http://webpages.charter.net/jcory17/geotec...maps/image2.htm if you look at the map, the furthest southern reaches have very high levels of poverty. Honestly, I don't care if they have a distance based fee, just as long as poor people who rely on public transportation can afford it. As I have stated, I am just giving possible reasons why there is not a distance based fee. Take it for what it is.
  13. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) Finding dirt on Giuliani does not require forging anything. He has plenty of dirt on him from his own doing. pfft, all the candidates do. it will just be an issue of the MSM using restraint when reporting. they will definitely be pushing for Clinton, but if they're smart they won't go overboard.
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) That award that year was one of the biggest cop-outs in Time Magazine's history, and was a great harbinger of what we were about to see from the media the next couple years.
  15. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 04:53 PM) Aren't you one of the people that dismissed the Nobel Prize when Gore won it? Now Time magazine awards are what distinguishes the great minds? I see. Hey, I was just referencing a source you would respect what, you want a link to Sean Hannity's page? would that change your mind
  16. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) Help the city deal? How exactly did he do that? With photo ops? you really think thats all he did? well, he sure fooled everyone i guess
  17. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 04:38 PM) How do poor people cope in other cities that have zoned rates? don't know how it works. Chicago is more segregated than most major cities (from what i've been told), with much of the very poor living the furthest form downtown. I'm just offering a possible reason why the city does not use a distance based fee.
  18. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 04:36 PM) I don't know why anyone would vote for someone who proposed extending their term in office for six months because of a tragedy that happened two months before an election. lol, nice try. like it's a HUGE deal that he offered to remain in office for an extra 6 months to help the city deal with a major terrorist attack. if he doesn't do that then you would post "he ran like a coward a mere two months after 9-11". obviously you will vote dem either way, so it's a moot point.
  19. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 04:15 PM) Is the CTA the only train system in the country that uses a flat rate for riders? I find it rather silly that I would pay the exact amount for a ride on the train from Skokie to 95th as I would from Western to Damen. It should be 20 or 25 cents per train stop. I think the main argument against that is the fact that many of the poor people who would be most affected by the increase live further from downtown. Just a guess though.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 04:07 PM) IMNSHO Rudy is the biggest sleaze ball, slime bucket that has declared and Hillary isn't exactly oozing integrity. na, Dodd or Edwards takes that honor. but i'm biased, Giuliani 2008
  21. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 11:21 AM) So exactly why did we get the barrage of GLOBAL WARMING stories after the 2005 hurricane season? It seems to me the loudness factor of that bit of data was just a wee bit higher on the decibel level then the lack of hurricanes the last two years. I wonder why that is? because they were busy working on their "forest fires are a result of global warming" stories. that and they're probably getting an early start on putting together their forged documents to go after Giuliani with
  22. QUOTE(Vance Law @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 12:10 AM) He reverse-Jordans and plays for the Bulls next year.
  23. meh most of the 'journalists' at these things are frauds anyways. who cares.
  24. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 04:04 PM) Its great when they can't get it straight. Harry Reid, the fires are from global warming. Then he states that he didnt say that, in the same interview. LOL
  25. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Oct 27, 2007 -> 09:17 AM) Linky no worky. here you go. same story http://www.newsobserver.com/politics/polit...ory/750356.html
