  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 07:45 PM) Like I said, they're not going to turn a Republican into a 2016 incumbent VP. well why not? what if he switches to Democrat? i bet he would if you ask nice.
  2. the NY Times article about 'Green Jobs' was excellent, you guys just need to admit you were wrong. you'll feel much better.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 07:35 PM) Slight bit more specific there Obama/Huntsman 2012
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) and I bet he has one of the highest, if not the highest, in the do-not-know category. That would be his undoing. When someone is that unknown, the favorable/unfavorable numbers are pretty useless. Once candidates get to where the unsure/do not know category are down in like the 20's or lower, that is when the values are useful. But he probably never gets to that point anyway. i don't think that is the case. his negatives are brutal. the more people know about him, the less they like him.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) Wait, what? The human verbal trip-up has been one of his best assets? If it is true that the GOP will negotiate with him because he is Not Obama, than that would work for anyone he picked as a VP. that's why you need Huntsman on the ticket. Obama/Huntsman 2012
  6. Looks like many of these news reports weren't accurate.
  7. http://www.gallup.com/poll/149114/Obama-Cl...%20-%20Politics some interesting poll numbers from Gallup
  8. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/19/us/19bcg...amp;ref=economy so much for the 'Green Jobs' hype.
  9. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 22, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) Dont know much about Huntsman, but what Im seeing linked I do like. maybe Obama can put him on the ticket as VP. totally bipartisan ticket. would the Dems go for that?
  10. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) i want that shirt

  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 21, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) I believe he might actually become the 14th member of the SEC. just one more reason to be a big 10 fan
  13. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 21, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) Apparently the Twitter world is abuzz that Ghadaffi is dead. the BBC is reporting he fled to Algeria.
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 07:58 AM) He'd do better than anyone but Romney I'd bet. You have to keep in mind that, by the time any candidate gets the nomination, they are a known commodity. That playing field is level at that point. So then, it really comes down to two things - getting your base to show up in big numbers, and enticing moderates and independents. On the former, as much as some of the ultra-conservatives may not like a moderate candidate, they hate Obama more, so they will show up. On the latter, only someone like Huntsman or Romney will be able to pull any significant number of swing voters - the others are just too extreme. well, i see it like this: 1) He wouldn't get Conservative votes, as we are seeing in the primary. 2) His off-shoring past / China ties would bury him. Right now, that would be so incredibly toxic in an election. Regardless of if off-shoring is actually good/bad/neutral/none of the above, the US public thinks it is a big reason the US economy sucks. Obama would take full advantage of this. 3) Third. Not just the number in my list of reasons he can't win, put the place he would finish in the general election; behind Obama and whoever ran as a third party conservative.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) Its really too bad he has near-zero chance to win the nomination. He'd probably have a better shot in the general than most of the other GOP candidates. He would get destroyed in the general election.
  16. http://www.gallup.com/poll/149042/New-Low-...%20-%20Politics uh oh
  17. I was just thinking, GW Bush looks like a really good president when you compare him to Obama. be honest, did any of you think Obama would be this incompetent? I thought he would probably suck, but i had no idea it would reach these historic levels.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 08:30 PM) Refused to hear appeal from a guy on death row with legitimate science saying he didn't do it, defends himself by saying that the guy was a bad person, shut down an investigation looking into the case. This case? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/...th-penalty.html
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 07:54 PM) And just curious, does the tea party looks at murdering an innocent man as a pro or con for Perry's run for office? Rick Perry murdered someone?
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 01:00 PM) Jobs4Iowa challenges Colbertpac to a tractorpull. he should have accepted the challenge and battled
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 12:28 PM) And being a foreign dignitary for the United States, sticking with the job regardless of who the President is, takes a lot more courage than jumping ship out of political weakness. it was basically a big business trip for him. of course he doesn't care who is president at the time.
  22. http://www.gallup.com/poll/113980/Gallup-D...b-Approval.aspx wow
  23. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 14, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) Like I said, I want someone that doesn't turn to fairy tales and mythology to fix the answers to tough problems. That's straight up lunacy. yet you continue to vote Democrat.
  24. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/08/12...ealth-care-law/ nothing really surprising about this, but figured i would post it.
