  1. shocking - a lead off double and nothing to show for it. But if KC gets a lead off walk, they'll score.
  2. What a bummer, I was hoping this team would fight to the end. Good luck with your goal of winning 90 and calling it a season, White Sox.
  3. and like all of our pitchers, gavin responds by giving it right back
  4. pull hitters can't lay off that inside pitch
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 11:31 AM) Will another 7-3 road trip, including a DH and series sweep at Fenway ever feel this empty? It's the 1-3 against lowly detroit that makes it so empty to me.
  6. Ozzie's missing a golden opportunity to run into an out here
  7. Quentin has hit 5 HR's since he hit 6 over 4 games in July.
  8. that's what i'm talking about
  9. come on offense, give Gavin a chance at least.
  10. and that's a 2-run dinger in any other ballpark
  11. tigers not trying to force anything, just going with the pitches. It's a good approach.
  12. i wish Quentin could finish strong to improve his trade value. Some AL team would have to like him for DH. Maybe Seattle?
  13. hey, Gavin brought his A game!
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) Harry Caray's original color man who got fired for being too critical. He and Harry blasted the team during a rain delay and the color man was the fall guy. Where are they now? You are referring to Jimmy Piersall, one time great outfielder. He did so much crazy s***, you should read about him. He once got kicked out of a game when he ran back and forth in CF while Ted Williams was at bat. He got in a fight with Billy Martin BEFORE a game, got ejected once and then went and changed clothes, got into a seat behind the plate and started heckling the ump! And that's just scratching the surface. After one rant on a telecast Harry turned to him and said, "Jimmy, you're nuts." and Piersall said "Yep, and I've got the papers to prove it." He was sent to the psychiatric ward a few times in his career.
  15. thank god the Bears are going to be so good, it will ease the pain.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 06:25 PM) Twins with 3 runs in a 2 minute span. 5.5 back looking more likely...just a terrible last 26 hours. oops, you're right
  17. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 06:12 PM) 8-2 is a good road trip. The fact that we started 7-0 and are looking to salvage a split with Detroit because we forgot how to play baseball however gives me a bad taste. dropping 2 in a row after some gutsy wins really is a kick to the balls. But it would be nice to get on track before facing the '08 sox this weekend.
