QUOTE (qwerty @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 05:15 PM) Once more, all of those that consider dye even a average fielder, remember that play. and i'll also keep in mind that he has more homers than any other outfielder in the league in the last year.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 01:42 PM) How about you post the rest of his stats on the year? why? They're s***. That's not the point. He appears to have turned a corner in his very, very young career. Could be a blip but probably not, probably a sign of things to come.

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 11:23 AM) ...check out Jeff Francouer's rookie stats and remember how people were so ga-ga over him too... .300/.336/.549/.885 70 GP, 272 AB, 14 HR, 20 2B, 1 3B, 45 RBI, 11BB it would seem like the lack of walks and reliance on homers made this predictable, but Francoeur was hitting .300 over 70 games with a ton of doubles...doesn't that sound familiar? His career line is currently a disappointing .266/.308/.424/.732 and the power numbers have been relatively down since 06 - just 82 career homers. So what happened to Jeff Francouer? Couldn't the same thing happen to Beckham? one sounds french, the other American. I'm going with the American.

QUOTE (Wedge @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 10:49 AM) He was mocking the media for rushing to conclusions. The post was ironic since it was a rushed conclusion based on one game. sagacity

2009 MLB Catch-All Thread
Gonzalez is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in 18 2/3 innings over a three-start stretch against the Yankees, Red Sox and now, the Rangers. But hey, Swisher was a fun guy to have around for a year! EDIT: and did i mention he's only 23?
