Why not give Richard a shot? I don't think he's right for relief, but he was good in spot starts.

what's the point of a trip to the DL? I would think it has to be charlotte to work out whatever is happening. I still applaud the guy for getting back so soon. Maybe it's just too soon. (or maybe he's too old).

can't contreras be moved to the pen? would he accept that?

if he's got an option left i'd like to see if a trip down to AAA doesn't help him. if not, it keeps him out of the rotation, where he doesn't belong right now.

Since June 1, 2008, Mark Buehrle has a 17-6 record with a 3.14 ERA in his last 28 starts and 182 innings pitched. that's pretty impressive.

for one of the worst calls you'll ever see, check out the bottom of the 6th inning of today's yankees game. Jeter swings all the way thru strike three but ducks as if he's avoiding a ball in too tight. Neither the HP of 1b ump called it a swing. two pitches later he hits a lead off double in a 1-1 game.
