  1. lexi with one thing in mind - home run.
  2. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 10, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) It still sickens me that he was the 15th overall pick. He was supposed to have this great curveball, which I still haven't seen. exactly. Which is why even if this team did decide to wave the white flag and start making trades, i have little confidence in their ability to make good ones. It does help having Buddy Bell around, though.
  3. i'll take 3-4 on this upcoming 7 game road trip, with the way we've been playing.
  4. well...one can always hope for a turnaround, but there's nothing evident in the sox to suggest that they're a team on the verge of turning things around. Yes, they look good for one game here and there, but then just seem to fall back into bad habits, like bad AB's, base running mistakes. Not to mention that it feels like every single walk/error seems to come around and score. I wish they could adopt the Mike Soscia philosophy of NEVER GIVE AWAY AN AT BAT. Battle every pitch. But the one thing I do find encouraging is the pitching of Buehrle and Danks. If Gavin can get on track that could help big time.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 10, 2009 -> 12:41 PM) You would think Richard should still be good to go on Wednesday now. He won't go more than 4 or 5 anyway. he will be
  6. this will be the third straight series loss, not counting the one game against the kitties
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2009 -> 12:28 PM) After Betemit, we have them where we want them. Alexei, Corky, Getz, and Lillibridge. BTW, I hope Ozzie didn't check the stats on Millwood and Padilla to decide who to play at catcher. Righties are significantly better vs Millwood, while lefties crush Padilla. stats are too annoying when you can go with your gut.
  8. i expect a response from this offense
  9. whatever happened to that curve colon used to throw?
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2009 -> 11:41 AM) Stop swinging at the first pitch!! 3 pitches, 2 outs...which isn't surprising with that part of the lineup. supposedly they had a talk with Alexei. Wonder if it was in english or spanish.
  11. I like what Bobby said after throwing behind Kinsler:
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2009 -> 07:21 PM) If there's not a bean ball war tomorrow, I'll be surprised. doesn't the warning carry over? you know padilla is going to push it. I still have no idea why he hit AJ like he did down in TX.
  13. seems like there are so many problems with this team that it's hard to know where to start. nice catch by PK
  14. what would make this complete would be a wild pitch, scoring the go ahead run
  15. thome showing a good eye - the first step to getting his groove back?
  16. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ May 9, 2009 -> 04:33 PM) We reek how long is this s*** going to last
  17. nice inning - danks is so good when he throws first pitch strike
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 8, 2009 -> 09:58 PM) I don't understand the point of this - look at our lineup, who's underachieving? Alexei, Fields, Quentin (average has plummeted lately). Those guys, now along with Getz, are the core of our "youth movement." Thome, Konerko, Dye, and AJ are part of the "old" core. The only one out of those who is underachieving right now is Thome. How does dumping everyone help? this is a great point. if you want to see the sox add to their league-leading tally of being shutout, then bring up the kiddies. Besides, It's the second week of May and we're four games back - I'm not convinced this team can't compete if they can get on track. This division is up for grabs.
  19. oh well. come back and beat millwood and padilla.
  20. hawk still blaming the ump - how about mentioning the high throw from fields
  21. has harrison even broken a sweat?
