There's rain on the way - maybe the delay will knock cc out of the game and give the sox a chance against the pen.

Game Thread: 6/9, 7:35pm vs Indians
QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) I realize this isn't going to make any more popular around here (not that I was to begin with), but I'm going to agree with Jamie on this one. Not just in Chicago per se but at any sports event. People need to more mindful of what they do and say and how it can affect the people around them, particularly the younger people in attendance. Right. And this never happens in Detroit. Or New York. Or Boston. It's not right, but for him to single out the fans in Chicago is just lame.

Game Thread: 6/9, 7:35pm vs Indians
Quote from powerhouse Tigers pitcher Jamie Walker: "These fans here in Chicago are a black eye, cussing when there are kids around. I mean it's just bad for baseball." Thank you Jamie. We'll try and do a better job next time you're in town to make your stay more pleasant.

Per Reifert.... Friday, June 9, 2006, 3:02 pm Tonight's Lineup A little different look against the left-hander ... Pods, LF; Ozuna, 3B; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; Dye, RF; AJ, C; Iguchi, 2B; Uribe, SS, Anderson, CF. Vazquez pitching. Gooch drops down in the order. Interesting...

Stupid comment by Dan Bernstein
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) They can win another world series with every single person on their 25 man roster right now, if some of those guys get their heads out of their asses. ditto they've shown flashes of what they're capable of doing when they put it together and get on a roll. No team is without weaknesses.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 07:22 PM) Haha, Garland pitched like s***. Jeez, does he have to give up 9 consecutive homers to have a bad start? he was awfully close to getting out of the 6th tied 2-2

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 02:14 PM) I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him go down to AAA, get a few hits, suddenly find his stroke, and find himself right back in the big leagues. Isn't this what happened with Rowand at least once? And Crede too?

Tigers @ White Sox, Game Thread
Tonight's Lineup Pods, LF; Iguchi, 2B; Thome, DH; Konerko, 1B; Dye, RF; AJ, C; Crede, 3B; Mack, CF; Cintron, SS. Garland takes the mound. Juan Uribe's wife, Ana, had the couple's baby today. It was a boy. No word yet on name or details.

Hello Mr. Anderson
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 09:01 AM) That's the thing that's been driving me nuts about the kid too, I can't find a single obvious thing he's doing wrong at the plate. With a guy like Uribe, or when Crede stops hitting, usually the mechanical mistake they're making is obvious (and it's usually flying open way too early and trying to pull an outside pitch). But with Anderson, I haven't seen him doing that, he looks like he's keeping his shoulders closed, he's taking a short stride, he's shifting his weight, he looks like he's doing everything right, except every time he hits the ball it goes straight at someone. Maybe the kid needs glasses. Seems like he picks up the ball too late, IMO. One thing's for sure, pitchers are throwing strikes and getting ahead nearly every AB.

AL Central LONG Run
I don't think Cleveland can have another run like last year simply because the competition in the central is so much better this year with detrot, and most games are played against the division. honestly, I'm still keeping an eye on Minny. It's still early enough for them to start playing better and get back in this thing if Sox/tigers/indians beat up on each other.
