  1. if he continues this pace and doesn't find himself traded by the deadline, think the Sox will call him up in September?
  2. I credit Contreras as well. His start set a great tone for the series and what can be done if they pitch their asses off. I'd love to see our frontline start feeding off each other again like last year.
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) I'm just not convinced enough about Cleveland's pitching to think they'll be able to even be close this year. They'll get a hot streak at some point, but it won't be enough. I'd say Cleveland. I say keep cleveland down. go :puke yanks father forgive me...
  4. Two ground balls hit between Jon's legs. Coincidence? Or has Texas been reading these boards?
  5. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) As long as the offense can get 3 runs tonight per inning, maybe
  6. Jon had a good outing going before he lost concentration with some bad defense and gave up 4 quick runs to the tigers. I say he bounces back nicely tonight. Per Reifert... Tuesday, June 13, 2006, 3:10 pm Tonight's Lineup Pods, LF; Iguchi, 2B; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; Dye, RF; AJ, C; Crede, 3B; Uribe, SS; Anderson, CF. Garland pitching.
  7. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 12:26 PM) any chance the Tigers lose tonight? maybe, if the drays stay close and leyland goes to jones to close it out. I love todd jones. the sox have a chance to gain ground anytime detrot puts a ball in his hand.
  8. Can't afford one of those 4 game series like we had against the tribe two weeks ago - win the first game and go hide for the next three. Keep it going, Jon. The worm is turning...
  9. QUOTE(SnB @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) leading the yankees to championships, just like peter gammons said he would did he really say that? remember how great he said Jody Gerut would be?
  10. I thought the game started at 5 out here and was following Detroit on gameday when I noticed the Sox up 5-0. What a nice surprise.
  11. Question: last night Morgan mentioned that Ozzie got rid of a veteran bullpen pitcher in '04 when he would let Ozzie know when he was and wasn't available to pitch. Anyone know who he's referring to? Mike Jackson?
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) He's failed as many drug tests as Lance Armstrong I could see Lance wearing black. Give Coop a few sessions with him, work on his cutter. I like it.
  13. Last year I used to post that when I look at the tigers lineup I find it hard to believe that they don't have a much better record. On paper, they were terrific. I'm doing the same thing this year with the Indians. Last season's second half charge aside, I think they could use a managerial change. Something's not clicking like it should under Wedge.
  14. Once Uribe puts together a solid week at the plate all this will go bye-bye. How quickly some forget the last two outs of the world series.
  15. Game threads are a great place to get some insight, some laughs, and on bad days, to vent frustration. And lately frustration with the Sox seems to be very high. Ripping multi-million dollar athletes who are paid for my entertainment doesn't bother me, but the personal attacks on posters? Not good.
  16. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 05:25 PM) fathom knows me well. Its no secret that I don't care for Pods one bit as our left fielder. He's not impressing me too much as a lead-off hitter. He fights his way back from a miserable start, actually gets to .300 for a day, then starts diving again. What happened to the guy who used to bunt for singles and terrorize pitchers and catchers?? I thought he was the key to the Sox fast start last season and I'm surprised they've done so well without his spark this year.
  17. Is this still a Brian Anderson thread? If so... ...to you, BA. That blast in the 9th started the rally and got the tribe thinking. A good game at the plate. I hope it's the start of something special.
  18. I didn't hear Farmer say anything when Ozuna flicked his bat and raised his arms in victory on the single that almost scored Mack.
  19. i'm so glad the tribe traded crisp
