  1. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 07:46 AM) Interleague has really messed up the perception of how good all of the AL teams are. We know they are good, but beating the NL 9 out of 10 times isn't anything special because the NL is so bad and that's what teams have been doing the last couple of weeks. I agree. I knew the AL was better -- I just had no idea it was this much better.
  2. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) From Clarence Darrow during the Leopold and Loeb trial because he put it much more succintly than I. "What is [the State's Attorney's] idea of justice? He says to this court...'Give them the same mercy that they gave to Bobby Franks.' Is that the law? Is that justice? Is this what a court should do? Is this what a State's Attorney should do? If the state in which I live is not kinder, more human, more considerate, more intelligent than the mad act of these two boys, I am sorry that I have lived so long." wow. what an awesome quote.
  3. When was the last time Pods bunted for a single? Does he even try to do it anymore?
  4. QUOTE(Hurons @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) Again, I am not thinking about the SOX, or the Divison. I made this point in regards to the joker that said the Tigers will fade and battle the Twins for the Card. I've been called much worse, but I assure you my fine young tiger fan that there is no humor in that statement. The Sox had a bigger lead than that on the Indians and I watched it evaporate faster than a fart in a wind tunnel. Word to the wise? Don't be fooled by big leads in June. Like I was last year when the Sox were on pace to win more than 100 games and the indians were a blip in the rearview mirror somewhere behind the twinkies. Or, go ahead and be fooled by big leads in June. Why not, your team's still in the hunt in June. Like the Orioles were last year. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) Do you think the Tigers can go 47-37 the rest of the way? maybe. the unbalanced schedule will take its toll at some point and I don't think they'll continue to own the twins and the tribe. Even KC is due to win a few games against them. I just think it's way too early to talk about 100 wins, just like it was too early last June for Sox fans to be talking about breaking Seattle's record.
  5. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) But if we can get at least 100 wins (which I believe we will do if not better), then we'll have set ourselves up to have a fairly good chance at winning the division. holy s***...these guys are on the pipe.
  6. tigers get a ton of timely hits and great pitching. If they continue to do that then it will be neck and neck all the way. Personally, I think they'll fade ever so slowly and be in a dog fight with minny for second place and the wild card. I think the pitching will come back to earth and that will be the difference.
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) Best pitching staff in baseball this year. very true. So far.
  8. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 06:15 PM) i dont find it funny at all, it actually pisses me off. I'm one of the very few who still believes Detroit will fade.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 06:11 PM) They're definitely going to continue on this run. They have 2/5 of their rotation being guys that it seems you have no chance to beat even before the game starts. why the hell are they playing the Dodgers??
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 06:10 PM) Tigers win. it's almost funny at this point. almost.
  11. are they pulling rocket? No way that scoreboard in detroit can keep up with the runs they'll post against houston's bullpen.
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) What happens at the end of the week? Detroit plays Pittsburgh. and immediately after the all star break, Sox go to NY and the tiggers stay home against the royals. :banghead
  13. I just want this to be the 9th inning as quickly as possible.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 05:40 PM) f***...this game has a terrible vibe to it. yeah, i was thinking the same thing.
  15. good show boys - I liked the Vasquez discussion. I have to say I still think the jury's out on whether it was a good trade or not. Hopefully Javy proves KW right. anyhow, that's my two cents.
  16. I love the ball park in Pittsburgh, saw a game there a few years ago. Great view of the bridge and the city. Welcome back Mackowiak...or will we see a return of BA in CF now that he's done with the suspension?
  17. Abreu has suggested he might not waive his no trade if it means going to detroit. Can't blame him.
  18. sox record with me in attendance this week: 3-0. may have to change my travel plans for the summer
  19. I say you stick with the hot hand - run pablo out there as much as you can until he cools off. Pods needs his head checked anyway. Gets way too down on himself and now he's hitting below .200 in June.
  20. it would be quite sweet to not lose any ground with detrot playing drays at home for four and the sox playing 4 against first place texas on the road.
  21. Ozuna, LF Iguchi, 2b Thome Kong Dye Crede Widger Uribe Mr. Anderson Burls on the bump
  22. Sometimes they drive way too fast on the beach, pisses me off.
