Our lead is down to 6.5 games.
I hate rooting for Detroit. Man, the sacrifices I'm making for the Sox.

Mercifully, August comes to a close. So long summer, you've been good to us. April = 17-7 (.708) May = 18-10 (.642) June = 18-7 (.720) July = 15-11 (.576) August = 12-16 (.429) September = ? I'll take one bad month out of 6.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) Ozzie wants to rest his starters for the offseason. This doesn't look like the same team that went into Minny last week and won 2 of 3

I don't blame the duke. 100 pitches in 100 degree heat? He's probably 40 years old? whatever happens, happens. The Sox don't seem to be fazed at all by the shrinking lead in their division. No sense of urgency.

I don't care that he's thrown 90 pitches in 5 innings, the Duke pitches his ass off. What a great addition. Here's to you, KW

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) Back-up 3rd baseman. With Crede injured, we need as many 3b as possible. I guess Ozuna's too error prone.

QUOTE(Misplaced_Sox @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) Same swing, same spot for Blum 1 out I dont get him If the Sox were to make a deal for Walker, is there any need to keep Blum? He's just not very good. At all.

Interesting Post....
Wow those are...unusual splits. Those boys like their home cooking. Wonder what teams in the AL west have to say about this...

Podsednik most overrated player?????
Maybe it's just me, but it sounds like someone in yankee nation is still pissed that little derek got left off the all-star roster...bumped by the second city speedster with a name too hard to pronounce...by the "fans" no less!! Usually I don't like to laugh at people crying. But in this case I'm making an exception.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) Brandon McCarthy will get his first major league win tonight and the Sox are going to rip off a nice winning streak. You heard it here first I'm going to hold you to it. Don't make me drive down to Irvine (that town smells like bong water! )

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) I'm not really worried about an improbable Indians comeback. The best the tribe can really go is 21-9 down the stretch and even with today's loss the Sox just have to go 15-18 to tie. That's a pretty scary proposition, tying. The sox are finding ways to lose. What's with the defense?? Split this series in Texas and it's a successful road trip. 2 of 3 from Minny, 2 of 3 from Mariner, 2-4 from the Rangers. 6-4 road trip. I'll take it at this point, a step in the right direction.

I'm thinking the Sox are going to score more runs today than the Bears will points in their opener.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) I think the opposite. I think BMAC is capable of keeping them more off balance than jon is right now. He is throwing meatballs down the middle of the plate, and they are killing it. Pick some corners, and this game isnt quite the same. I hope you're right, because our bullpen is going to be tapped in this game. Soriano drilled that ball and Garland's lucky he didn't get underneath it a tad or it would be 8-3 right now.
