I'm considering attempting to buy one and then selling it, seems like they are going for a ton.

Jamar Smith limped off the floor, apparently ankle injury... -
Who's getting one (preordered?)? Who wants one? Who is going to camp outside to get one?

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) Im not failing to see anything. Illini fans just seem to think 2 recruiting classes will put them on the level of Michigan and OSU. This is not basketball. Please grab a smaller brush.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 12, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) Oh crap man, what if this interferes with Laguna Beach? Then What? I think the Earth blows up.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 04:25 PM) You're still going to need a good coach though. Recruiting is only part of the deal (see Ron Zook at Florida (where he was able to pull in even better talent, b/c it was Florida) and Mike Davis). That's where our coordinators come into play, IMO. With this program, i'd rather worry about getting some more talent in here first before we just learn how to coach. Because during the later Turner years we couldn't keep an in-state recruit or land any out of state talent at all. If we have to worry about a coach later, so be it. But at least we can make it an attractive place for recruits even if Zook's selling talent is gone.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 04:40 PM) I have absolutely no doubt I got it right. My grammar sucks but shockingly I typically do very good on verbal portions of standardized tests. I typically know the rules, but just don't follow them in my day to day typing. Its = it is It's = posessive

"General manager Jim Hendry said Ramirez left as much as $30 million on the table to return, while Wood also came for less than he could've made on the open market. "At the end of the day (Ramirez) really did want to be here," Hendry said. "it's not much secret that the figures being bantered around in his situation would've been much higher. I think that as good a deal as this obviously is for any player, I certainly believe there were six-or-seven-year deals out there for him, that certainly would've paid him $20-$30 million more than he got, guaranteed. He was the lucky beneficiary of being a free agent at a time when his services were certainly going to be needed by some quality clubs and some major market clubs."

QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 12, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) And if it doesn't happen, the system is exploited again. Because it proves that wins earlier in the year are less important than later, and doesn't take into account the quality of the team that you lost to. For example Florida. They lost to Auburn who is 9-2 and just got rolled by a non ranked Georgia team. IMO, If Ohio State loses to Michigan or vice versa in a close game, a re-match is the right thing because the losing team has lost to an undefeated team as their only loss. But like I said, the BCS won't let it happen and it all gives me a headache! Well if Michigan wins, you'd have the same argument for ND, if they beat USC. I also agree with Rowand, I don't think there should be a rematch. And before this weekend killed it anyway, I would have been against a Texas/OSU rematch. -

I really feel bad for Steve Spurrier, he deserved much better than a blocked extra point, false start, and blocked fg. -

"The game is being broadcast on CSTV, ending a streak of 169 straight games that the Irish have been televised by NBC, CBS, ABC or ESPN. The last time they didn't appear on one of those four networks was Oct. 31, 1992, against Navy." -

Brilliant coaching series right there by Zook: Down 11, waste a timeout on 4th down for your offense, then don't kick the field goal to go down 8 and keep the game alive. Hey tubberville, If there was a playoff, your team wouldn't even qualify for it. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) To you. Which is all that mattered to you before the season started. I prefer a team that stays competitive over the long haul. That's not to say the Sox won't be competitive without Young, but they'd be in a much better position going forward, and there's no denying that. I believe that a combination of McCarthy + El Duque (with Haeger potentially in the mix) could have given us what Vazquez gave the 2006 White Sox. You apparently don't feel the same way. I felt going into last year that McCarthy was ready to step into the rotation. I also think you'd be nuts to say you'd rather have Vazquez than all the cash + Chris Young going forward, although maybe you believe that Vazquez can return to his Montreal days, which I honestly can't call crazy. The stuff is there, as we all know, but it's now been three full seasons since Vazquez was anything better than average for a whole season. LOL. So now you turn to a whole 70 major league ABs to make your case. Funny. You're a clever one. /punches locker -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 5, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) If you watched the OSU game at all, Tressel put the playbook away for the second half, also the d didnt give up much all game. I thought Tressel called an awful game, especially in the 2nd half...and it almost cost em. -

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 1, 2006 -> 07:04 PM) Brian could be a 3 foot midget and I'd still put my money on the Rowand/Brian combo. Steve would be busy drooling over Row's hair/burns and well Krush would be too busy throwing up from such moments as Paul Konerko's grand slam Now if it was Row/Brian vs Krush/Krush's GF, than the money is on Krush's GF. She's got fire and well she hates the Hawkeyes (Illini fans loss). This year is going to be real rough for your Hawkeyes, i'd stay away from her
