Pretty solid game all around. Big game by Augie, nice games by Randle and Carter. Did we have enough highlight dunks for everyone? Randle over Marco = pwn3d. Wow. The three point shooting on both sides was atrocius. Good call by IU playing a zone. Jamar Smith, whatever the hell he did, hurt us this game. At any given time we only had 1 or 2 guys who could shoot from outside in the game, and the ball was around the perimter a ton. We really could have used him to take some shots against that zone. IU put up a fight, but they didn't hit shots when they needed to in order to cut the gap. Also, the officiating in the 2nd half was pretty suspect, but at least it didn't affect the outcome.

Glad Canada lost so we don't have to face up to open up quarters.

Yup Lundqvist is a stud. Now we have to hope Finland beats Canada. Because i don't want to open against Canada in the quarterfinals. And yeah we'll make the quarterfinals even if we lost and Latvia wins on Tuesday due to goal differential. Hooray for that... Ugh, this is frustrating and disappointing.

Win this period guys. Lundqvist is so damn good, it's frustrating.

Perspective from an Illini fan (not mine). Though i have to say i pretty much agree with it. I just don't think Alford is the best choice. Well things got more interesting. I'm going to assume we lose at MSU, period, so if we can win out we'll be at 5 losses, meaning at worst tied with Iowa and MSU. Then we'd have to see what OSU and Wisky do.

That was a hell of a game, but very disappointing. We still have the toughest 2 opponents to go, assuming Russia plays up to the level they are capable of playing. Ugh, just disappointed right now.

Canada just got shutout my Gerber and the Switzerland team 2-0. Yeah that's right...Switzerland defeated Canada. The same team who beat Czech Republic 2 days ago. Shots in the game were 49-18. 24-1 in the 3rd period. WOW. Just wow.
