  1. I don't know if any one has mentioned this, but the Royals and Tigers got into a brawl today, and Farnsworth got ejected for tackling a Royal. He willlikely be suspended for some time. What a dumb#$#@! BTW, the Indians announcers were mentioning there were alot of Sox Fans in attendance, and they couln't figure out why? Because they said Nobody goes to games on the Southside. f*** em, sure will be nice to shut these f***'s up once and for all, after we sweep there ass today!
  2. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Jon is throwing fine he has 2 strikes on every hitter and 3-4 occassions got screwed out of a backward K I agree as well, but i think sometimes he throws too many pitches around the plate w/ 2 strikes. If he wasted a few more here and there, than the batter wouldn't feel as comfortable. just my opinion. Other than that he has been Awesome this year!!
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) Garland continues to play with fire. He's allowed more 2 strike hits today than he has in a long time. Looks like he is throwing too many pitches around the plate today, he needs to waste a few, especially w/ 2 strikes.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) BTW, does anyone know if C. Carrillo has pitched in the minors yet? I know that question doesn't belong here, but I figured someone might know. Yes he has, for San Diego's class A affiliate. FYI, he has thrown 7.1 innings, 6 hits , and 9 K's w/ a 1.23 era.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) If we could get Glavine that would be awesome. Even though he has been in the league forever a lot of guys havent seen him in the AL and he still has some good stuff left in him. He would of had a great season last year but got no run support and than starting not doing well after his car crash. A lot of guys haven't seen Burnett either, I 'll take him instead.
  6. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) This team is just not built on big names AT ALL, and adding Lowell and Burrnet just frankly scare me in not only the whole "chemistry" stuff, but just the makeup, and the look and feel of the team, sort of down the chemistry path. In my eyes, Lilly just fits more than anyone right now. Don't forget that Ozzie was a coach w/ the Marlins, and I'm sure that if he thought there would be a problem w/ chemistry bringing these guys in, he'd let KW know. I personally would do a Contreras+prospect 4 Burnett trade right now, if it's on the table, because i have no faith in JC or El Duque to get it done come postseason.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) I'M BORED! MAKE A TRADE NOW, KW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's true, the waiting really is the hardest part. I just know he's gonna make a trade while I'm 1,000 miles away this weekend, when I've been waiting forever for one to happen. I agree. GET IT DONE KW!!!!!!!!
  8. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Beware of NL strike out pitchers: Brown, Johnson, Vazquez, Pavano .. the list goes on & on. The AL is 13-4-1 vs the NL all-stars over the last 18 yrs! NL hitters suck. Clement seems to have done pretty well, and Johnson isn't throwing as hard as he did last year, and his slider is flatter. As for Pavano and Vasquez, i believe the pressure of NYC got to em. Burnett looks like an absolute stud, i have watched his last few outings and he looks unhittable. If K-Dub has a chance to get him........DO IT!!!
  9. QUOTE(quickman @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) I need a better understanding of why they play baseball, is it to win the world series? How many times do we have a team like this? I mean a legit chance with real good pitching? The Twins are not the same this year, and the Tribe may only be two pitchers away next year.Time to strike. Screw the farm. Remember- Borchard,myette, olivo,stumm, wing, Ruffcorn, Snopek,Rauch, Caruso,Pearson,Scott Christman, MarK Johnson,Leifer,Dallearo,Honel, Tim Hulet, Joel Skinner, Kenny Williams,JimSiwy,Tony Menendez, Russ Morman, Tom Forrester,Ken Patterson, Melido Perez,Adam Peterson,Johnny Ruffin, Ramon Garcia,Rod Bolton,Brandon Wilson,Steve Schrenk,Brian Boeringer,Jeff Abbott,Greg Norton,Luis Andujar,Mckay Christiansen,mario Valdez, Josh Paul,Tom Fordam,Brian Simmons,Lorenzo Barcelo, Jason Dellero,kevin Bierne,pat denaker,Matt Ginter,Brian West,Corwin malone, Dennis Ulacia,TIm Hummel,Felix Daiz, and on and on and and On. You see I had to hear about all these guys at one time or another being within our top prospect list. If your a blue chip prospect then keep them if not they all suck. I agree, the time is now. We have a good nucleus for a few years, and we just need to add a couple more pieces to the puzzle. If KW doesn't make a significant move, i will be very dissapointed!
  10. I'm all for adding Vizquel and Schmidt to the roster, but I can't imagine the Sox keeping both Uribe and Vizquel because of their salary's, but it would be nice to be able to platoon Uribe on the IF, like Everett in the OF, and we definitely could use another LH bat in the lineup. And i did watch Schmidt's last start vs. the Cards, and he looked pretty good, he was topping out at 95, which is better than he had in previous starts, and even if he doesn't quite regain his ace form, he is still a winner, and would certainly bolster the back end of our rotation, and then maybe we could trade Contreras or Hernandez for another quality reliever......There is another trade possibility that crossed my mind, i had heard on a philadelphia radio station that the Phillies were possibly looking to trade Abreu, boy we sure could us his bat in the middle of our order. Now i don't know what they would want in return, but i know that Houston is looking for someone to replace Bagwell, and maybe we could trade them Konerko for a some top prospects, and use those along w/ some of our own to get Abreu, and move Dye to 1st, where i believe he could play very well. Now i know these trades may deplete our farm system substantially, but I'm all for winning now, #$%@ next year. We have a chance to do something very special this year, and I'd hate to waste this golden opportunity, because you never know what could happen next year, this may just be our lucky year, and I'd hate to blow it. Then again, these trades may also be pipe dreams, especially Abreu, but their definitely worth exploring. Here would be our lineup and rotation....... Pods, Iguchi, Frank, Abreu, Dye, AJ, Rowand, Crede, Vizquel....Rotation. Schmidt, Buehrle, Garland, Garcia, Hernandez or Contreras.......
  11. Guys don't get to upset, the Angels are about to get swept by the M's, and the Indians lost 3 of 4 against the Yankees, albeit on the road. But it's obvious this team has a few holes that need to be filled, and hopefully KW can fill em.
  12. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) Dye better be hitting for Rowand next inning. What about Willie
  13. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) i feel sick. I'm with you
