QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) Here comes the corpseball ending to a sure fire scoring opp. Thome Ks because he hits retarded against a lefty bouncing pitches in the dirt. I actually thought PH Pablo there might have been a good idea, of course i know there is no way that would have happened -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 07:25 PM) DJ can stop will the bulls*** about guys being tired. Some of our guys are the most rested guys in all of baseball. Dye gets on, here comes the rally kill Thome and Konerko. Thome will pop up or dong. And Konerko will hit to the 6-4-3 double play. I see a 5-4-3 dp in the near future -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) Everyone has been swinging for it. SOmeone might as well make contact. Nice swing there Dye. Yep, plus i dont have alot of confidence in Thome and PK right now -

QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) At least the Twins are losing. We have no pitching and no hitting again. Maybe a couple of the guys we brought up will help a little. Tigers won though. I think it's safe to say were probably not going to catch them. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 07:08 PM) You know what's impressive: every decision Ozzie made about the starting lineup tonight didn't work out. Playing Pods, playing Mack, and playing Cintron. Well done skipper! Be nice if he learned his lesson tonite, but i doubt it. I think after watching him trot Timo out there time and time again last year, when he was BRUTAL, says it all -

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) Nice pull-and-lift attempt there by AJ who looks more like he wants to pad his stats than to actually get his team back into the game. I was thinking the same thing. Since he got his average up over .300 most of the year, he is now trying to increase his HR #'s... -

95??? I think Cotts might not get many innings the rest of the way, unless we start to tank it -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) AJP's bat speed is just pathetic now. It might be time to move him back down in the lineup. In fact i think it's time for a lineup change.....Mack, Iguchi, Dye, Pk, Thome, Crede, AJ, Uribe, Anderson.... Oz should stick with this lineup the rest of the year.................. but he wont -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) If we're not careful, we might have the Red Sox within a few games of us again. Ortiz is likely to return for our game on Monday, so they should have a lot of intensity and I believe we face Schilling. Well Ortiz should be rusty, and Schilling got pounded in his last outing, so there's a chance -

I wonder if Thome's wrist is still be bothering him, because he has completely lost his power stroke. If that's the case then the Sox should have left Gload in there, and gave Thome another week off before we head into critical series against LA, OAkland, and Detroit -

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) I just want to say one thing for all of you saying Jose is still hurt. If he is hurt and the Sox are not putting him on the DL they are obviously one of the most ignorant, dumbass organizations in all of baseball. Why would we be sitting out there throwing out a piece of s*** pitcher (which is almost what Jose is right now) if we knew his struggles were do to an injury. Wouldn't we have thrown him on the DL weeks ago and given McCarthy a chance knowing that we could in time get Jose healthy and have him ready for the stretch run. I'm sorry, this injury claim really makes no sense cause I can't think (and I think Ozzie's a f***ing idiot) that Kenny would be dumb enough to do something like that. I feel the same way. Maybe Jose is having Cotts-Syndrome. The opposing hitters have figured him out, and he keeps throwing meatballs.... -

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:35 PM) You'd think it was Cy Young with the way they have been getting dominated. The fact we couldn't do much of anything the last couple days against 2 rookie pitchers didn't instill a lot of confidence in me going into this one tonite. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) There's no reason to pitch Contreras anymore tonight. Or for a few weeks, he's been absolutely terrible lately. He's pulling a Buehrle right now. In fact, Garcia is the only pitcher i can think of that hasn't had a string of implosions this year, unlike the other 4 guys. That's sad. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:25 PM) Hey, the Yankees are beating the Twins almost this badly. yay! Another day of 1/2 game in front of the wild card. I wonder if the A's can catch us. Can't wait for that 3 game set in Oakland next week, a sweep by the A's wouldn't surprise me one bit. And BTW, it might be a good idea if OZ put Alomar in for AJ, move Mack to right for Dye, put Anderson in CF, and put Gload in for Thome. The way this offense has been lately, i 'm not very confident we can come back in this one, might as well give these guys some rest.......BTW, nice SOLO job by Crede -

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:21 PM) At least you're focusing on the important stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if Oz felt the same thing. It seems like stats are more important than W's to him these days -

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:13 PM) at least the Twins are losing Hopefully that continues to be the case..BTW, This team is just not good anymore. MAybe they need the rest of the season off, and recharge their batteries for next season. At this point i think it may be a bad idea if we make the playoffs. We should just regroup, and make a run at it next year........OH and JOse gives up a bomb to Teahen...THIS IS f***ING SICKENING!!!!! -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:14 PM) Well at least Ozzie doesn't even preach defense anymore. It's the one part of the formula for winning that he has completely abandoned. Ozzieball has turned into $hittyball -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:01 PM) Too bad JD can't bat in 3 or more spots in our lineup, simultaneously. Is it possible he could hit in every spot in the lineup? we can have Ghost baserunners for him when he gets on base, like in grammar school -
