  1. Well, now we have seen the best of the Cubs bullpen.
  2. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:24 PM) Ohh you got me there. :rolly You spelled it "Vasquez" three times before I finally snapped. He name is spelled incorrectly the most since Jose Valentine was at short I was thinking about editing it too, but I think anybody here would be so anal to point it out. I also used the wrong tense of "dissapoint." Thank you dumbass Dusty for bringing in the Lefty to face Konerko. Just messin' with you.
  3. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:14 PM) Good lord. Were you one of those spewing the same s*** back in August of 2004 when Contreras was giving up 9 runs to the Angels? Vazquez has always been on KW's radar. Vazquez is signed through next season and is arbitration eligble in 2008. This was not a trade made for an immediate impact. What has Chris Young done so far this year Milkman? I see Vizcaino (who negative nancies like yourself threw under the bus way too early last season) is having an even worse June then Jazquez and his numbers are sky rocketing. El Duque was already traded from the D'Backs after posting a POS 6.11 ERA, and his now posting a POS 4.89 ERA with the Mets. Javy has been dissapointed this year, but do you guys hoenstly expect him to keep pitching like this for the rest of the season? The rest of his contract? How did Contreras do in the beginning of 2005? As you informed me earlier, it is actually spelled "Vazquez".
  4. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:14 PM) You wrote stupid and Cubs in the same sentence. Isn't that a bit redundant? Whoops!!! I guess should have said that move was stupid even for them.
  5. Man that was a stupid move by the Cubs all around.
  6. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) Something happened to Javier at the all-star break in 2004. He's been mediocre to bad ever since then. Before that, he was one of the best young pitchers in baseball. In that way, Vazquez reminds me of Jeff Weaver. Tons of potential, but could never pitch well on a winning team.
  7. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:06 PM) 5.20 Remember when we thought he would be a massive upgrade over El Duque? Some people still think so.
  8. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) I don't think he's as bad as he's pitching lately. Just look at his track record. He turned it around in the 2nd half last year and I'd be real surprised if Ozzie/Coop/KW give up on him so quick. I don't disagree that he is better than this. The question is when will he get better than this.
  9. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) He gave up a home run with the wind blowing out to a Sox killer. You would honestly rather see Haeger over Vazquez? Get real. 5-4 Sox Never said that, did I?
  10. Still waiting for the Vazquez apologist to come back and defend their man.
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) Were there any? Go back to earlier in the game thread.
  12. If Lou Pinella sat in the booth with Jeff Torgborg, would they spend the whole time talking about the teams and players that they managed and completely forget the game? On another note, Vazquez wets the bed.
  13. If Vazquez gives up less runs than he scores the rest of the game, we will be in good shape. In another story, one train leaves Kansas City traveling at a rate of 55 mph ...
  14. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 01:28 PM) I like facing Maddux right now. He can't keep giving up two hits an inning and getting the DP to bail him out.......................or can he? If it is not too much to ask, I would like to see 4 or 5 hits next inning.
  15. Well, if we keep getting two runners each inning we should elevate the pitch count and get to the dreaded Cub Bullpen.
  16. As much as Cub fans rag about Jacque Jones, I would have never guessed the guy is hitting over .300 . Grant it that the guy's defense sucks and I would not want him, but I would think Cub fans would have better things to b**** about.
  17. I like how the offense is just putting the ball in play off Maddux, rather than trying to take advantage of the wind blowing out.
  18. BA has looked soooooooooo much better at the plater recently. Make them pay Javy!
  19. Vasquez (Spelling dedicate to Santo=Dorf) had a better inning, hopefully he can keep it up.
  20. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 12:50 PM) STOP SPELLING HIS f***ING NAME WRONG!!!! He has always been on KW's radar, and he's going to be here through the end of the season. Get over it already/ :rolly Tact.
  21. Vasquez's next inning is big. If he plans on giving up more runs, this games becomes a lot tougher. If has a good inning, stringing a couple of hits together could tie the game for the sox.
