  1. Fearless prediction: Sox only get two more hits the rest of the night.
  2. Negative: Our offense would starve to death at an all you can eat buffett.
  3. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 07:23 PM) QFT, I was going to make this post almost verbatim. I remember getting excited when they were talking about contracting them not too long ago. Can we start talking about that again? Only through the use of WMD's.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 07:21 PM) At least we had a good defensive shortstop last season. Oh and the bullpen is better. Too bad we can't score to use it.
  5. Floyd need to just drill somebody right here ... ... like his own hitters.
  6. I didn't like this season when I watched it last year. Ozzie needs to get a new email from me.
  7. I looking for a new phrase; What is the next step below corpseball?
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:16 PM) There's a better chance of Stone being swapped with Kenny Williams. Don't tease us like that.
  9. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:15 PM) This game has me worried because you know the Twins will "pirahna" a run across this inning probably. I can see it: bloop single, SB, bunt, sac fly (that JD throws off the line to allow the run in). ... or JD takes forever to get to a single which becomes an inside the park homer.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:13 PM) Anderson gave us some quality at bats the past few days. Exactly my thinking. OT: If we gave Dye the "Frank Thomas Treatment" would any team pick him up? ... besides the Mets.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) Jermaine is so off...his entire body is pulling while his arms are going forward. ... It is much easier to list the guys that are not "way off" . I am actually starting to think we are better off with Brian Anderson in the line up than Dye. ... as long as we don;t make him bunt.
  12. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 07:59 PM) Ted Williams.......Jim Thome Ted Williams.......Jim Thome reflect on that for a sec. Both are really cold right now?
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) Was Hawk saying earlier tonight that Thome was bombing the ball into the right field stands during batting practice? It's so obvious that he's become way too pull happy. I know he is a hall of famer and all that other bulls***, but why can't he at least try to beat the shift and go oppo. Ted Williams was never above choking up and going the other way. So why the hell can't Thome?
  14. ... another depressing offensive effort. I thought the new emphasis was being placed on OBP and going opposite field. I thought the idea that every hit needs to be a solo homer was discovered to be bad last year. Yet here we are again getting dominated by another very average pitcher, waiting patiently for Juan Uribe to come and bail our sorry asses out all over again. I remember watching this season last year, and I did not like it then.
  15. He go the Sox getting Boofed by another very average pitcher.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 06:40 PM) Sheets has no command tonight. Shockingly, he doesn't look healthy. Fearless Prediction: Despite having more innings than Prior and Wood together this year, Sheets will be out of baseball before either.
  17. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 06:42 PM) Also do the Sox ever score early in a game, christ. Except for solo homers, scoring at all seems to be on a hunger strike recently.
  18. I know Boof's stats against the Sox are not the greatest, but it still seems like he bring his dominant game every time against the White Sox.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 07:04 PM) Cameron looks awfully skinny. Maybe he has been dining with Prince Fielder.
  20. Uribe is locked, loaded, and ready to carry this team.
  21. ... and yet countless new threads will continue to appear with him being traded.
  22. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 11:07 AM) Here ya go: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Aok4...o&type=lgns Thanks.
  23. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 07:26 PM) So does that mean Baltimore's fans won't be allowed in the stadium until 1st game concludes? Don't think that will be a problem. The O's are having trouble drawing more than 12,000 right now.
