  1. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 07:28 AM) Common sense and decency tells me to avoid phrases that could be misconstrued and hurtful. It should speak louder sometimes..
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 07:24 AM) I also used that very justification as well. The point is that it COULD be derived from racist remarks and it wouldn't shock me if that was the case. Of course, they could have been talking about shovels. I agree. It could. But in the situation it was used above, and how I have used it here, and in the real world, I've never used it in relation to an african american. Someone was just looking to see if the s*** would stick to the wall..
  3. QUOTE(easyw @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) I considered it last year.. will consider it again this year... but probably won't go... I wish they were still in Florida. I've got an open invite to hang at spring training with a pal who works for the Twins... so I could stay down there on the Twins dime... and see the Sox - if they were still in FLA. DAMN! The Florida facility was a dump.. and there were way too many tourists. I'm glad they are in AZ.
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 05:11 AM) I've always wondered about the history behind the origination of the phrase, and whether it had racial overtones or not. I have refrained from using it on here several times because I'm not sure. If you can enlighten me as to how you know it's not racist in origin, I'd appreciate it. For the record, I always suspected that it was. Perhaps the world can use "a diamond is a diamond", "a club is a club", a heart is a heart..." instead... :rolly Poor snakes and rats.. I wonder if they realize the injustice they have endured.

    2 Murderers escape

    QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) FOX news says that they didn't have guards in the towers anymore at the prison to try and cut costs. Yea they are saying that they scaled a wall that had no wire using materials from an furniture shop at the prison. Heads will roll for this one... Hopefully they catch them before anyone is hurt.

    Security Backpack

    QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) OMG!!! That is soooo friggin' cool and brilliant all at the same time!!! I told my wife about it the second I went to the link! I do believe I will be buying three in the not too distant future. One for each kid, and one for my wife who works nights. Thank you a million times for the link Steff!!! Wow.. you're welcome Kid. I bought a few of them also. It's just sad that there is a need for this. Carlie's biological father helped design it.

    Security Backpack

    http://www.carliesecuritybackpacks.com/csb/home.html Carlie (the little girl that James Smith kidnapped and murdered down in Florida) was the inspiration behind this idea. It was shown and demonstrated on Court TV. A bit pricey but definitely worth it if it saves a child. The only brand of backpacks designed to give you the power to signal for immediate help in dangerous or harmful situations. Equipped with two 130 decibel sirens and a high intensity strobe light, the Carlie Security BackpacksTM are the world's loudest personal alarm system (louder than a car alarm).
  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) With all due respect to Steff and Soxy, there are probably more than a few guys here who are thinking at 15, sex with a willing female would have been pretty cool. Whether that is societal norms, or real differences in males vs. females, I don't know. I do know at 15 I was sexually active and really would have though an older woman was cool. Now, as an adult, I see the abuse and how it would effect a kid. I'm not sure at what point between 15 and 44 I came to realize that. His comment was "man I never got molested.. lucky kid." I have no issue with Tony.. but I agree with him being told to shut the f*** up. The comment was out of line, and has NOTHING to do with "getting laid". Pretty sick to even try to compare the two. Oh.. and no respect. Not on this. Sorry.
  10. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) I see now instead of offering to convince you, I should have just asked you to provide references for any proof that HIV can be transmitted via toilet seats, urinals, or showers. Please. And puhleese. Because that's what I said, right (actually no I didn't) - DESPITE giving other examples not associated with using a toilet or taking a shower... specifically drug use, bleeding, and sexual intercourse. Now.. I'm sure it's fun and all.. but don't you have anything better to do then to chase me around posting all these links trying to make a point...??? :rolly
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) Not a clue. Only reason I know anything is because my buddy used to work at the same surf shop that Stephen worked. Went to one shin dig where they were at and like I told you Stephen came off as a pretty chill nice person, but Kristen was all b****o (good looking, but not near as hot as she looks on TV). I know one thing, KC's family is loaded cause there house is the nicest next to Jason and LC's (LC's is freaking awesome, but Jason's grandpa's is probably worth 10-15 million). Thats the only reason I know they kind of react and dramatize up stuff that already happened. But its not like the stuff doesn't happen. I find it funny and entertaining as hell. I heard that also. She isn't any nicer off screen was the general theme of her. KC's house has a movie theater for 50 and a 6 lane bowling alley among other things.. unreal. They are going to be in LA soon... as if that town isn't screwed up enough. LOL
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) Ya, LC's family is very wealthy. But quite a few of those people aren't all that wealthy (They aren't poor either) but I'm sure they all make a good amount on the tv show. I think both LC's dad and Jason's dad are each involved in real estate. Not positive on Lc's dad. Jason's dad kind of took over his grandfathers business or at least thats what my dad mentioned (I think he used to be a big time developer and than kind of stepped down and now they don't do much but have tons of money from it). LC's is an architect and designed almost all the holywood big wigs homes out there. He designed Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson's house and that's how he got introduced to producers and directors, etc.. which led to the show. Jessica's family is supposedly the "poorest". Jason, do you know anything about that KC girl (blond, kinda slutty, talks with a squeak)..? Rumor is that her father made his $$ in the adult entertainment business..
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) He can do whatever he wants though. His family is the most loaded on that show supposedly. His dad is a real estate developer, right..? And I know he owns all kinds of exotic cars. Supposedly his father and Jay Leno are friends and ride their Harley's together. LC's family aint too bad off..
  14. QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) steff, watch out for any suspicous looking teen....i mean "kids" on the grassy knole next time you drive by there LMAO!!!
  15. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Club Fever was where it's at though. LOL.. we didn't have these kinds of places back in my day. We had to get a fake id and head downtown like the adults did it.
  16. I have a box of rice crispies with just snap on it, before crackle and pop became his side kicks. My grama says it's from the '30's.. might be worth something..
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) It's on the corner of rt. 53 and 75th by a couple gas stations I see now from the map. It's by the Shell at 53, where I always catch the light and b**** for 10 minutes. That IS the longest light in all of Naperville.. save for Washington at times.
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:59 PM) http://www.zerogravityclub.com/ Yikes...!!! That skeered me.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) Some teenage club on 75th Street, I've never been there but a few people that have say it's a dump. Hmm.. I drive that way all the time. I don't recall seeing it.

    Joe Smith Trial..

    Quote from the Herald Tribune site: In a coded letter to his brother, Joseph Smith told his brother that he disposed of Carlie's backpack and other evidence into four Dumpsters around Sarasota, and that he dragged Carlie's body to the field where it was found four days later. The testimony of theFBI code breaker were devastating to the defense, as jurors were shown a large poster with the decoded letter. The "backpack and clothes went into four different dumpsters," it said. "I dragged the body to where it was found. Destroy this after deciphering it and shut up." The code breaker said the letter was written in numbers and symbols, and was written from right to left and from the bottom of the page to the top of the page.
  21. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) So is it weird for me to still be hangin' out there at age 26? OK.. I've never been there.. what is it??
  22. QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) oh for sure, i am the epitomy of a meterosexual. Epitome, too.
  23. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) From what I heard, he isn't anything major as a pitcher. A career minor-leaguer at best if he decides to play baseball. Good.
