QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) There seemed to be a LOT of LOUD Sox fans there on Saturday, good job guys. There were a lot there both Saturday and Sunday. I didn't get there until after 10 Friday but there were a lot of Sox fans out in the harbor and the bars. Very nice showing.

QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) Hey Steff, when is KW stepping down? Beats me.. Ask the person that made that statement.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 07:24 AM) There are a couple humans I would like to try this on? No need for green or the question mark at the end..

I had no issues Saturday or last night, and last night I wandered after the 2nd inning. Baltimore has silly fans just like we do, and the Cubs do, and the Yanks do, etc, etc.. Most there are very nice and know baseball - which is what I love the best about going there. If you can, go. It's a great park to see a game in.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 03:56 AM) Book it....i'm convinced the Sox are going to acquire Huff and Baez.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 08:47 AM) Come on man, I really wanted to go to Baltimore before I read this! And don't let this deter you from going. Just got back this morning and I love it more every time I go.

QUOTE(Sox Radio Bryan @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) Steff...nice work on creating the post! It was enjoyable to read all of the above comments. Please keep them coming. This is my first post on this website, and I have enjoyed typing each letter of it. Feel free to post any questions you all might have for me. If you call in to future post game shows or Chicago Baseball Tonight, please let mention that you frequent SoxTalk.com. Bryan Hey Bryan.. glad you had a chance to read some of the others thoughts. I figured it would be interesting to read what some others who have listened to you more would have to say. And for the record knightni Bryan didn't ask me to create this thread..

Whoops.. sorry. I never realize that there are people from outside Chicago here.. LOL.

QUOTE(PWSox87 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) Does anyone else watch the whitesox games with DirecTV? It appears as though this whole series will not be televised. I wonder if that has something to do with the orioles or what. Or am I wrong, and are these games televised? Yes they will. Tonight they will be on 26, tomorrow on 32 and Sunday on 640.

http://www.helpinganimals.com/h-mut-debark.html Are Your Neighbors Barking Mad? Don't wait for a visit from animal control, a court summons, or-worst of all-for frustrated neighbors to strike before you solve your dog's barking problem. PETA's caseworkers are flooded with calls from people who have been ordered to subject their dog to a cruel surgery of convenience, called "debarking," as a means to try to remedy their excessive barking. But barking is a dog's means of communicating many feelings-fear, frustration, pain, boredom, or even happiness. This cruel procedure strips dogs of their natural ability to vocalize and communicate. Depriving them of their primary means of expression is unjustifiably cruel. Debarking, or devocalization, is an invasive surgical procedure that involves removing a large amount of laryngeal tissue. It involves a great deal of pain post-operatively. Because this procedure is superfluous and inherently cruel, many veterinarians condemn and refuse to perform it. You Can Teach an Old Dog New Tricks! If your dog has a barking problem, don't accept debarking as a solution. Instead, deal with the problem for what it is: a symptom of boredom and loneliness! There are lots of simple and effective solutions: Most importantly, if your dog spends all day outdoors alone in a yard, bring him or her inside to become part of the family, where companion animals belong! Call your local humane society for a referral to a humane trainer, animal behaviorist or helpful veterinarian, and never attempt to use shock collars as a solution. Click here for more information on humane training methods. Ask your vet or local humane society to refer you to a dog walker, doggie daycare center, or dog park, where dogs can talk all they want. If you have been ordered by the court to either debark or euthanize your dog or move, you probably need to hire a lawyer. Raise awareness about cruel debarking by writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper.

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) If he can, he cant...if not, who cares, honestly...this team was better before Thomas' arrival. We have holes, sure...but everyone else does, too. We have the best starting pitching in the AL, nobody else even comes close, nobody else has a solid #1-2, let alone a solid 1-3 and El Duque for backup...nobody has anything NEAR that. We have a bit weaker of an offense compared to others, but if they execute, that will not matter.

QUOTE(juddling @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) She had two albums and i think one #1 hit and another top 20 song. and that was back in the early to mid 90's. i think she's been through personal hell but i still chuckle when they keep refering to her as a country "star". I did meet her when i was working at a country statin in St. Louis and she seemed very outgoing and friendly. She was a beautiful girl.....it's a shame what drugs (and psycho boyfriends) can do to you. juddling I met her many, many moons ago at Whiskey River which IIRC was on Clybourne over near the Royal George Theater... Very nice like you said juddling. Never would have suspected her of most of the stuff that's coming out. I wonder how much the boyfriend has had a hand in. Supposedly she's paid out hundreds of thousands of $$'s to settle gambling debts for him and bailed him out of jail a ton of times. Hopefully this time she can get away from him. I have to wonder though... how did she make her way to the lobby..? Another murder attempt by him...??

QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) This time in the rehab work, assuming he is going to attempt to come back, does anyone think he needs to lose a little weight to relieve some of the stress on the ankle? I don't have any weight numbers in front of me but it seems as though Frank has gained a few pounds over the years and he might be well served to lose 15-20 pounds. Feel free to rip but just wanted to throw it out there. IIRC Frank is right now at his slimest in 5 years. And I don't think it would matter. His body frame is what it is, and the damage has been done.

Poor thing hasn't been the same since her on/off/on boyfriend tried to kill her.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) I know the Bandits have played lots of games against other countries Olympic teams, maybe those are included? Where do they play..?

QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) Theres an article on whitesox.com about the white sox possibly buying out his contract. Absolutely. Then work out a new deal.

I don't think Slownerko and Dye would be enough.. To be honest.. I don't think Boston would let him go for anything at this point. They want at the very least another WS appearance.. trading Manny away hurts the chance of getting there.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) the manager did call them out. on not caring about winning enough to spend some money to bring it good players. but isnt that what im arguing? either way, i fell victim to the 2 things i hate most. 1. people who unnecessarily become a dickhead on this site. and for that i apologize. i think the fundamental differnce in which we are arguing is petty, since all that matters is the fact that we both agree that their committment to their money outweighs their comittment to winning. so im sorry if i was, and i was , a dickhead and 2.) that i just took up a whole 3 damn pages of a rumor thread to discuss something that has absolutely nothing to do with teh rumor. so now that what has said has been said i woudl suggest and encourage any mods to either a.) move the last few pages to a new thread or b.) just delete it. its pretty useless I was not trying to be an ass and if it came across that way I apologize also.. I understand what you are saying.. and it's logical.. but not to someone who has no interest in doing anything when they can be lazy and collect a check.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) Since when did the kids name become public knowledge? I thought he was not to be named in the media.... When Jackson was found NG I guess.. that's when I first saw it in the newspapers.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) i am absolutely aware of it Do you understand it...?

QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) if thats what you believe to be true, then fair enough. Maybe open the paper... watch the sports news. It's common sense to see what they are doing and where they are going. Even their manager called them out. Or I suppose you can just sit there and be ignorant on the matter...
