  1. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) It looks like s***. I dont think we'll ever get a wrigley-type atomosphere (thank god) because our stadium isnt "beautiful" or a "mecca." We just need to make it more intregated, and a moat of parking doesnt help that. Take away parking and accessability to the park and you'll again push the fans away. The parking is a very high selling point for the Sox.
  2. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) No, the project at the south of the stadium needs to be brought down...and they could buy the church or something like that. Plus there is stuff to buy up west of the stadium...around 35th street. That church aint going anywhere anytime soon..
  3. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) Seriously, I don't want another Wrigley on the southside where it's a hassle to park. If they were to get rid of one of the parking lots I would be fine if they built a parking garage, but that isn't happening. Oh Lord I hope they never build a garage.. have you ever been to St Louis..? Oye ve.. they have a garage there (or did since it's been 4 years since I've been there so I don't know if it's still there) and it took 3 friggin hours to get out of the damn thing..
  4. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) I dont like dropping a small fortune to park there. And what do you think you'll pay if parking becomes scarse..?? :banghead Good grief.. sometime's I am amazed at the lack on common sense on these boards.
  5. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Until the concrete wasteland is gotten rid of we'll never get the community thign going. The parking lots HAVE to go. Not a chance, and thank God for that.
  6. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 03:03 PM) If the neighborhood changes, great. I'd love to have some 'hang-out' options around the park. However, I go to games regardless, so I taint so worried. The only thing I care about is that they get the zoning and permit issues worked out so the condo's can be built sooner rather than later.. Jim and I would likely hit 20 more home games when this happens.
  7. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) I would guess there are more Sox fans in a 2-square mile area in Arlington Heights than in the 2-square mile area currently around the Cell. I'd bet high that that guess is waaaaay wrong.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) Is his phone number still XXX-XXX-3535, I should call him and ask No. Vegas number right now.
  9. Belle had 50/50.. doubles and homers.
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) Last night, second at-bat, he swings and misses, and noticable steps gingerly on his ankle, I saw it right away, coming from someone who had ankle surgery, I worry about his re-injury. He says it's more mental than anything. He claims he's not in any pain..
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) I watched him in person every game since he has been back and he is still limping and stepping tenderly in the batters box on it. . I must be missing something because he looks fine using it to me.
  12. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) I'm not complaining about attendance, but the atmosphere in the park does affect the players. They don't care.. really, they don't.
  13. QUOTE(zach23 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) Yeah, I have been telling my friend we should spend a little extra and move. The only bad thing is we have first row in the bleachers and it is nice not to have anyone in front of us. I am sure if we move we will be back a few rows no matter where we go. The other thing is, we like the bench seats of the bleachers. More room to spread out. You guys should stay there.. Jake will love those seats and you'll love them once you start bringing him and all his "essentials" BTW.. I sent you an email a while ago.. you get it?
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) hahahaha, same posts at the same time. this is why my season tickets are going to be in the 300 level next year. The VIP's are great and I prefer the 100 level to the 300 level which is why we spend the extra $$ to have season tickets there. We don't have any of that riff raff by us ever. And the other holders rarely give away their seats and when they do they are to people who behave.
  15. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) Do you or people you know sense he's trying harder to be a better "fit" this year? By all accounts he really rubbed people the wrong way in '04. Aaron says he's trying harder.. but most of the others really have no use for him. Since his ex passed away he's toned down quite a bit, but he still doesn't go out of his way to be friendly and the others make no effort to do the same in return. Sad.. but he burned bridges to ashes last year.
  16. I don't believe anything beat writers or columnists write anymore, not that I believed much of their garbage before. I've heard a lot more than the usual contradiction from in and out of the clubhouse lately.
  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) Ozzie has said that Paulie is "my leader", don't know KW's stance on the issue. Really...? Hmm.. missed that. Although I try to miss most of the crap that spews from Ozzies mouth.
  18. QUOTE(techgeekxp @ May 29, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) Due to the popularity of this board....
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) And also when Carlos was dealt, and the Sox were trying to justify why they kept Paulie instead of Carlos. Was in a couple of Phil Rogers' articles at the time IIRC. I'm pretty sure the Sox never said Paul was their clubhouse leader.. I would, however, not doubt that Rogers ASSumed that and arranged his words to give that interpretation.
  20. QUOTE(HSC's Biggest Fan @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) What is thought the Everett / Thomas trade is fluff and Konerko could be moved? He has gotten to the point of uselessness and they stuck with him in 2003 for to long and he was a major reason we fell short and looks the same again this year. Is he the leader/clubhouse presence that we are lead to believe??? Could Thomas be rushed to first?? The only thing I can comment on is the clubhouse leader thing.. There is not a "leader" by definition in that clubhouse. And from observing.. if I had to name one it would be Mark. I think the misconception of Paul being the "leader" comes from his eagerness to run his mouth every time a reporter steps near him.
  21. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Unless you live in the clubhouse or are a member of the Sox, i have no clue how you know that Willie is not liked in the clubhouse. Willie is not liked in the clubhouse. That is not new news..
  22. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) Too bad they just resigned him until 08 with an option for 09 eh Steff? I don't care either way.
  23. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Rex, I'm not saying those things about Frank aren't true, in fact let's assume they are. My point is that IF the Sox decided to trade Frank, there would be a backlash from the fans as someone else noted in this thread. In order to calm things down, it wouldn't surprise me if the Sox (KW and Oz) suddenly opened up that bag of dirty laundry. If Oz opens up the laundry bag it will be him that suffers...
  24. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) The link above doesn't work for me. Not shocked, considering who posted it.
