  2. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) September 25, 2005. During our win against Minnesota. 3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) Another part of their genius off season. Juan Gonzalez who hasn't played a full year of baseball in god knows how long. Aaron Boone coming off of ACL surgery Kevin Millwood for $7 million, who is 1-4 (not a bad era though) and is on the DL with a strained right groin Alex Cora who is hitting .230 in a crowded infield. and no relief pitching signed with a bad and injury prone bullpen. Yeah, great off season there. Where is that Tribe fan that was trolling around screaming that the Indians were gonna kick our asses this year...??
  4. QUOTE(Soxaholic @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) 06/27/2004 7:07 PM ET White Sox offense erases all doubts With baseball's best lineup, who needs pitching? Notice the date. Konerko WAS the offense last year. __________________________________________ What the hell does last year have to do with next year..?

  11. MORGANTOWN, West Virginia (CNN) — A man who says he was severely burned when a portable toilet exploded after he sat down and lit a cigarette is suing a general contractor and a coal company, accusing them of negligence. John Jenkins, 53, and his wife, Ramona Jenkins, 35, of Brave, Pennsylvania, filed the suite Tuesday in county circuit court seeking $10 million in damages from Chisler Inc. and Eastern Associated Coal Corp. The lawsuit claims Jenkins' face, neck, arms, torso and legs were severely burned last July after the cigarette ignited methane gas leaking from a pipe underneath the toilet unit. "When I struck the lighter, the whole thing just detonated -- the whole top blew off," said Jenkins, a methane power plant operator with North West Fuels Development Inc. "I can't tell you if it blew me out the door or if I jumped out." Eastern Associated owns the Blacksville property where the explosion occurred. Jenkins alleges that heavy equipment from Chisler Inc. ran over the pipelines before the explosion, causing the methane gas leak. A call to the Charleston office of Peabody Energy, the parent company of Eastern Associated Coal, was not returned. A man who answered the phone at Chisler's office in Fairview said the company would have no comment. E-mail | Print
  12. QUOTE(chisox2334 @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Hes not coming here. Our Payroll which Kenny said is already spent on this yrs. roster. Chavez contract too big to take on even though it would be nice dream that he would come here but when has ever dreams happened here. We will a make move on someone whether its bullpen help replace viscianio or getting a utitly position player. Jerry has gone on record twice this year saying there is more $$ to be spent on the right deal.

  15. Here's the article about Shaq paying for the funeral. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...n.ap/index.html "I'd like to send my condolences to the Mikan family," O'Neal said after Miami beat Detroit 88-76 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals on Thursday night. "I heard they were having some trouble, some problems, so if you contact the Heat office, I would like to pay for the funeral." Classy..
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) so why is it that you are so focused on the cubs? Pot stirrer....?
  17. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) So it is ok to call Kittle a whore pretty much but we can't refer to Bonds as a racist or a jag or anything because we don't know him? I am confused. You can call anyone anything you like. I never said you or anyone else couldn't. I did not call him a whore.. I said he's "whoring". Don't put words in others mouths and maybe you won't be so confused.
  18. I don't see anyone else out there saying it did happen either. Like I said in another thread.. Ron's life now consists of whoring his benches and this book. Before this.. Ron didn't have enough $$ to pay to have his name in the papers.
  19. http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/06/03/bulldozer.chase/index.html Police shoot teen to end bulldozer chase Friday, June 3, 2005 Posted: 10:24 AM EDT (1424 GMT) (CNN) -- A 14-year-old boy who allegedly stole a bulldozer and led Tucson, Arizona, police on a 15-mile chase was critically wounded Thursday night when officers fired on the tractor as it sped toward them, a police official said. The unidentified teen was in critical condition after being airlifted to a hospital, according to Tucson Assistant Police Chief Kermit Miller. He apparently began his ride after stealing the large earthmover from a construction site, Miller said. The chase began at about 8 p.m. (10 p.m. EDT) after police noticed scattered power outages in a neighborhood on Tucson's east side. They soon realized the Caterpillar bulldozer had knocked down utility poles along the road, Miller said. He said the teen drove the construction vehicle up to 30 miles per hour at times with as many as 15 police cruisers chasing him. After a 15-mile chase, the bulldozer turned around in an eastside Tucson residential area and began driving downhill toward the police cruisers, Miller said. That was when two officers fired shots, with at least one round hitting the teen, Miller said. "We're assuming he was going to go over the vehicles in the roadway with the officers in them," Miller said. Miller said police had no other way to stop the large vehicle other than to shoot. There were no other injuries, Miller said. Along the chase route, some utility poles and other property was damaged, he said.

    That time again..

For the annual bs grilloff here at work. I love how they wait till the last minute to tell me what my duties are.. :rolly For those around last year we easily won thanks to my Chequita Bannana girl costume. This year's theme is Mexican... anyone know where I can get some authentic Mexican wear..? Needs to be local since this shindig is on Wednesday so I'll have to go pick up whatever I buy. I got the CFO a Zorro costume to wear..
  21. QUOTE(HSC's Biggest Fan @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) My take is that there will be some home town discounts for Konerko and Thomas. You need big bats in the AL and I see each of them signing real affordable contracts. I think both are married to Chicago girls (Konerko actually Bridgepport) and live in the city, I believe this is why they will stay. As a matter of fact I think they will signed earlier to get an idea of what if any salary can be brought on for this year and years to come. Thomas - Chavez - Konerko for the next three years has a ring to it. You can surround them with your pitching and defense. Paul and his wife reside in Arizona now.. Frank is moving back here full time from Vegas.

    Murder/Suicide

http://enews.earthlink.net/article/nat?gui...0602-1120225932 PORTLAND, Ore. - A mother fatally shot her daughter then herself in a planned murder-suicide after they locked themselves inside the mother's home in southern Oregon, authorities said. The bodies of 50-year-old Jeanette Marie Kimball and 29-year-old Marie Catherine Combee were found Wednesday by Kimball's husband after he returned to the couple's Eagle Point home from a fishing trip, police said. The women left a note indicating the deaths were planned, Police Chief David Strand said. "I know that the daughter and (mother) were very close," he said. The bodies were found in the master bedroom, and the evidence showed that Kimball had pulled the trigger, Strand said. The women had locked the back door and lodged a chair underneath the front doorknob to keep anyone from entering, he said. Strand, who was acquainted with the mother, said she had been distressed over her finances. He described the daughter - who lived with her husband in a nearby town - as an unhappy person who "didn't want to be in this world any longer." Neighbor Beverly Lamb said that a "For Sale" sign had gone up in front of the Kimballs' home on more than one occasion, only to be removed after a few days. "I knew that she had some problems," Lamb said. "I just don't understand how her daughter could go along with it." Eagle Pass is a town of 7,400 about 280 miles south of Portland.
