  1. WOW!! I'm on page 5 of 17!!
  2. Did any of you get your offers for extra opening day and Cubs/Sox series yet?
  3. Steff replied to CubsSuck1's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Great publicity! Congrats! But, IMO, it could have done without the Cubs comment. There you were in all your glory being talked to by ESPN Mag.. and you bring up the Cubs..? Was likely funny at the moment... but just adds more fuel to the fire that we actually care about them. Not meant as a slam or an insult.. just my opinion.
  4. But JB has an absolutely horrible attitude. That would not be a good thing if it rubs off onto the youngins... I had always heard the JB had a great attitude. That's why Thomas and Durham were upset when he was traded. Oh yeah.. he got along with everyone. HUGE party man. On the field and in the clubhouse JB felt he was better and got no respect. He was not a leader, and I doubt will give any direction to the youngsters. My guess is that he'll ignore them. I just know Frank and Ray were upset... I don't claim to know if JB was a good teammate or not. I remember hearing that he was, and I qualified my comments with that remark. I really have no idea, nor claim to. Upset at the way the trade went down maybe.. but not upset that he was gone. JB was a true headcase. And Ray had past personal issues with him that hindered their friendship. There was no love loss there.

Hey guys.. for those of you who are interested.. you can not get on the Sox AOL board unless you are an AOL member.
  6. Steff replied to Steff's topic in SLaM
Hmmm I have it "favorite placed" at home... I know it's AOL sports, baseball, american league, white sox in the long form.. Maybe do a search for "Grandstand Sports". I know going in the front door is a bit messy. Several of the guys on WSI are on there.. if you don't have AOL they likely know a back door in. I don't have to know those secrets cause I don't pay for it. But if you don't get to it by the time I get home I'll post the path here. You don't have AOL, right? I need a beer, too. This has been the longest week!

Maybe I'll visit. I bet I can prove that statement wrong though. Oh yes.... you... I all but guarantee will get a TOS violation!! You remind me a lot of KARK05 on there... But I've tamed him over the years. There's hope for you yet.

Do you have to be an AOL member? AOL suck IMO. I had it for 2 months and that's all i could stand. I'll check it out just for you unless i have to register with the spammers. Ya know what.. I'm not sure. I think there is a back way in. Maybe ask Hal..?? He might know. I do have AOL (for free ) so I can't complain. It serves it's purpose.

ahhh the one where most of us came from. after that stupid fight. let see if this will refresh your memory "there is a chatroom for this" Ya know.. I must miss all the fun. I never even knew there was an issue there.. or even that this board existed (until directed here my mike about that Albert Belle post). I definitely keep my head in the sand where that crap is concerned
  11. I guess having the Stones at Comiskey had some impact... paint it black! lol...that and having the all star game might have something to do with it seriously the all star game will be a great opportunity for comiskey to get some good PR and help destoy some of the myths...any wagers as to how bad reinsdorf screws it all up??? Oh.. I don't think this one is going to get screwed up. He hired the PR firm that handled Miller Park this year. No matter how bad people think the ending of the game was.. the festivities were out of this world. Way better than they were in Boston, IMO, and that was was pretty good too. Good news is that most of the decisions are MLB's and not Jerry's. This AS game should be awesome. I can't wait.

The AOL board is a lot of fun I think. I moderate there so I'm partial to it A lot of good guys. We're a pretty tight group. Many of them have come to mine and Jim's summer BBQ's. Can't swear there though. Other than that, anything goes.

I agree. It's funny.. for a minute. But with all the attention going into personal attacks (and the stellar vocabulary ) makes ya just not to read because it seems like that's all that's going on. I'm not trying to be a jerk but if it makes you not want to read it then don't. I think it is a usefull resource. It helps new posters know what to expect. be that as it may, if we were getting any new posters, esp since the espn ad, this thread makes us look no better than mlb msg board. i mean no offense to anyone, everyone needs to vent and i did my share as well. can't we all be friends OMG LDF... Get this.. I cut this thing out of the news paper a few years ago.. it's an ad for the Score. It's 2 robots wearing cubs & Sox uni's.. they look like they are about to fight.. and the caption says "Why can't we be friends" When I read your post I busted out laughing... Yep.. I'm weird

How many of you are on the AOL Sox boards..?
  15. Well, Im 15 and I have to tell the story of my favorite White Sox moment ever. This is excluding the games hwere I was actually at Comiskey because in those games no matter what happens are better. I spent the entire 2000 season (and others) in Rota, Spain so I hardly ever got to see the Sox on TV (when I did Id have to stay up to like three in the morning). When I learned that my grandma was dying of cancer my family went to West Virginia to be with her in her final days (late July 2000). She had some pretty cool neighbors and I saw that the Sox were playing the Angels one nite on TV. Just so I didnt bother my grandma I went to the neighbors and watched the game with them. The game was not going well until about the eighth inning. They were down 6-2 going to the top half of that inning. We scored two runs and then went to the ninth down by two and facing the Angels top notch closer, Troy Percival. With one man out, one run in and a man on second, Ray Ray doubled and tied the game. He later scored and we took the lead. We blew it in the bottom half but in the top of the tenth we scored four runs and took the game for good. That is my favorite White Sox moment ever... I was at that game. Great game. I miss Ray...

I guess that's a good way to look at it. And I also wish there was a place like that. Oh well..
  17. Is he locked into a deal..? (I can't get on ESPN.Com to check..)

IMO by it being a tool in letting others know what to expect... Would you want to post somewhere knowing that if your opinion isn't popular you'd get told to f-off and get called names..?

I've been reading here long enough to know that's not how it is all the time. But a few people that I directed here (new folks) that saw several of the war like threads the past 2 weeks made comments that it seems that a few people here just like the flame others for their opinions. Different strokes for different folks. Personally, I find ignoring those who make completely silly assumptions and not responding to them irritates them more.

Maybe I'm just dense, but I don't understand what story you want Rogers to break - just that Buehrle was at a charity event sponsored by the Cardinals signing autographs? Is that what the Buehrle family, Gammons, the Get Up Guy and Levine have all confirmed? If so, what's the big deal? (And if Levine already reported this, Rodgers wouldn't be breaking the story anyway). Am I missing something? No.. you're not missing anything. Some just like to complain about any and everything. Heck.. if MB wins 20 and gets the MVP, there will still be folks complaining. Can't please all the people all the time...

  24. Only idiots pay hundreds of $$'s to see anyone. As for the rest of your post... opinions are like assholes
