  1. Aj has been considerably worse at calling games this year imo. 1 run is not as bad as it couldn have been.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 10:50 AM) With Pods not running anymore, its been pointless to have him out there. Gloads would be such a signficant upgrade over him. But bottom line, I want a new manager. I'm sick of tired of our motherf***ing manager putting this motherf***ing players in a position where they can't succeed (sorry about the cursing, but I love snakes on a plane). I've had it with him putting guys in a position that they can't succeed. Thats not what a good manager does, good managers do everything they can to always put there players in the best situations for them to succeed (and as a result the team succeeds). Ozzie's trashed Garland and Tracey verbally, called Bmac a piece of s*** (well pretty much stating that he isn't anything compared to what we have), he's made stupid jag comments in the media (from the Mariotti incident to all the stuff about stealing signs) and he's been a terrible manager (in terms of a baseball standpoint) yet the entire media still hoots and hollars and raves about how great he is. It really is a joke that no one in the baseball media has the guts to step up and call things like it really is (its too bad that the only one who might do it is Mariotti, but even if he were to write a spot on article, it wouldn't float over well just because of who he is). Well put.
  3. Ozzie keeps Brian Anderson on the bench due to his hitting, despite great defense. Does anyone else find it ironic that Ozzie Guillen would have sat on the bench, like BA, if he was being managed by Ozzie Guillen. I would have thought that if any manager respected defense it would have been Ozzie.
  4. Considering Gload would not be worse defensively in LF than PODS and is hitting better over the past few months I would consider making that change. I still think PODS is capable of hitting much better but I'm sick of waiting for his slump to end. While Thome is out and Gload is in the order, I would bat him in the 2 hole versus RH'ers. His OBP has been great lately - we need someone to set the table for Dye, Konerko & Crede.
  5. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 08:56 AM) True or false - The White Sox have gained ground on these two teams since ASB: 1) Detroit 2) Boston I think Detroit is False & Boston is True. I think Detroit was 2 games up on us at the ASB, I'm just guessing about Boston. Now that you've edited the question - true.
  6. I still like our chances to make the playoffs. I really do. The problem is that the Twins play us so damn tough. I watched them play last week, and they weren't nearly this good. They have brought it to another level these past 2 games - they're playing desperate, and it's paid off. They've won with our 2005 blueprint. There's a very good chance that the Twins win the division if they play like this for another month, but I don't think they will. I also think Detroit is catchable, people are starting to figure out the hitters and their pitching has leveled off. We just need to play to our potential and we make it. Problem is that we just haven't played to our potential consistently all season. But I'm a fan and I'll continue to believe in them (but please Ozzie, put McCarthy in the rotation).
  7. Javy only 46 pitches through 4. Hitters not seeing many pitches might help him as he goes through the order the third time.
  8. Cuddyer is a pain in the ass (even if he did K). Just like most of the Twins. I hate the Twins.
  9. There's that dreaded hbp. They always seem to score. Let's hope not.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 06:05 PM) So, when that ball was hit to left field, did anyone expect that the play would turn out any differently than what we saw? Sadly, no. Still, it's a 3 run lead. Now, another 1-2-3 would be great from Javy.
  11. Let's knock Radke out early. Wear down the bullpen for the weekend.
  12. Really nice to get the lead early. Way to go Paulie. Now go get'em Javy.
  13. He'll have to get a changeup in his repertoire - and a good one - to be an effective starter. A slider would be a plus as well. I'm not against the idea really. Stretch him out over the offseason and have him work on adding pitches and give him a shot next spring. If he fails then so be it, he's back in the pen.
  14. Insurance time. Let's make this a non-save situation.
  15. wow, I never expected this after the first inning. Hats off to Freddy for these past 4 innings. Hopefully he can give us 2 more, heck, even 1 more would be great with me.
  16. If Soriano means no McCarthy starting next year (as in we go with the same rotation as this year)... no thanks. We need Brandon in this rotation - he's most definately an upgrade over at least one of these guys.
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 05:48 PM) Well you let Neifi reach, then walk Inge. Pathetic. That is beyond stupid. Absolutley inexcusable. Put him away Freddy.
  18. I hope that doesn't come back to haunt us. PODS is just SO bad right now. Give him a week (month) off or something.
  19. Why must out pitchers keep getting behind these hitters. It will cost us against this team.
  20. omg, 3 up 3 down. I'm not sure what to do... Keep it up Freddy.
  21. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) Freddy really battles and after 9 pitches, puts away a quality hitter in Neifi Perez. At this point, I'll take it.
