  1. Haha, what do ya know... http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/news/030318lopez.html KW probably really wanted Mike Myers so after he missed out on him he went and got a poor-man's version of him. I think this guy will end up winning the LOOGY job after a good ST.
  2. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines KW missed out on the other submarine-style pitcher, Mike Myers, so he signs the much cheaper version.
  3. I think Borchard will make the roster so my bet would be on him. But with Mackowiak around, I doubt Borchard will get enough AB's to make anyone hate him.
  4. http://www.denverpost.com/rockies/ci_3381852 Any ideas on what A.L. team it could be?
  5. Macias is flat-out horrible. No one should need a reason to dislike him.
  6. I remember how a few people here greatly overrated Tyson Chandler last season and how he was so much better than Eddy Curry. Now Chandler looks like a bust and his contract makes me sick.
  7. You are pretty stupid, Mr. Perlozzo.
  8. According to Ken Rosenthal, the Astros had the top offer for Tejada... http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5235582
  9. Not with his complete and utter lack of control. 119 walks and 112 strikeouts in 141.2 career innings pitched. :puke That's the scary thing. Ozzie would love the little turd because he's speedy, he's a switch-hitter, and he can play any defensive position (albeit poorly). But Macias wouldn't really fit with us since we already have two good utility-men. Mackowiak can already play 3B, 2B, 1B, LF, CF, RF and Ozuna can play 3B, SS, 2B, LF. The only player Macias could replace on our roster is Borchard and I really don't see that happening since we need some pop off the bench.
  10. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...ack=1&cset=true Brutal. :puke
  11. I'm not really excited but if you look at Lopez's career splits, he's a guy that you must only use against lefties. Javier Lopez's career splits vs. Left 60.1 IP 1.29 WHIP .246 BAA vs. Right 55.0 IP 1.82 WHIP .320 BAA
  12. Javier Lopez's Scouting Report http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/scouting?statsId=7079 Stephen Randolph's Scouting Report http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/scouting?statsId=7113
  13. Agreed, his defense is his main asset right now. Afterall, Rowand put up a .736 OPS last year but many people think he was great because of his defense alone. Patterson could do the same next season. His plate patience is absolutely brutal though. This quote by Patterson is hilarious though... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2285777 Ummm, no you're not.
  14. LOL @ the Cubs reject. He will be gone quickly. I hope this Lopez dude pans out though. Lopez had one good season in 2003 but he has been horrible ever since. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/stats/ml...5657&statType=2 You can never have enough Puerto Rican pitchers named Javier on your team.
  15. George Offman of the Score is reporting that the Cubs are after Julio Lugo, along with the Red Sox.
  16. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2006/01/details_on_teja.html This guy must read SoxTalk.
  17. I know, it's a shame. Mecir would have been a good pickup to replace Vizcaino. He was tough on righties and lefties.
  18. He retired in early October due to shoulder and knee problems... http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/12796185.htm
  19. Ever look at a player's splits? Branyan rakes righties but sucks against lefties. Inge hits lefties really well but stinks against righties.
