  1. Another young Serbian international signs with a big club today as 21 year old Nemanja Matic joins Chelsea. Vidic, Tosic, and Ljajic at ManU, Ivanovic, Rajkovic, and now Matic at Chelsea, Milijas at Wolverhampton, Zigic at Valencia, Dragutinovic at Sevilla, Subotic at Dortmund, Stankovic at Inter, etc....
  2. Joe Crede NEVER made that play at 3rd. Nicely done Freddy and Gordon.
  3. Man, just watching his little gangster-lean on the mound makes me miss 2005 SOOOOO much.
  4. Not to jinx it or anything, but Garcia is just 26 outs away from a you know what...
  5. Seriously, if we cannot beat a team with Alberto Callaspo batting 5th, we don't deserve anything.
  6. Garcia wearing #43. Looks like a good crowd on hand.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 06:56 PM) I haven't seen him have this issue at 2B. The guy is no doubt a plus defensive 2nd baseman. I'd agree with that, but everyone came into the season thinking he was a great defensive player at 2nd, 3rd, and short. And it's simply not the case. He was touted for his defense, and overall, it's been subpar.
  8. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 06:50 PM) Nix may be somewhat prone to errors but his range is fantastic. Defensive range is easily one of the most under appreciated aspects of baseball, it's so much more important than errors that it's not even funny, yet people only remember the errors because that's what they see. Why does it matter if he has the range to get to a ball in the hole only to botch it or throw it away?
  9. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 06:31 PM) Peavy gives up a lead off double. yikes. Next batter flies out to RF, no advance. 21 pitches, 15 strikes so far. Hits the next batter. 1st and 2nd, 1 out.
  10. Sunderland and Chelsea was an entertaining match. Chelsea was sweating it out at the half as Bent put Sunderland ahead early but the re-gained composure and went on to win 3-1. Wolves also got a 1-0 win at Wigan. Milijas is playing REALLY well so far for Wolves.
  11. vs LHP: Pods DH Beckham 3B Dye RF Konerko 1B Quentin LF Pierzynski Rios CF Ramirez SS Nix 2B vs RHP: Pods CF (But not really) Beckham 3B Dye RF Thome DH Konerko 1B Pierzynski C Quentin LF Ramirez SS Getz 2B And the entire time, I'd be rotating Pods/Quentin/Dye/Thome/Rios between LF/CF/RF/DH. But really, its tough to have set lineups. Just got at it day by day considering matchups and rest.
  12. Platoon them in the 8th or 9th spot in the lineup.
  13. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 10:50 PM) Which begs the question: assuming Nix keeps hitting, does Getz deserve (note, not get) to have his job back? Clearly, Getz has been playing very well, but Nix glove and pop add a dimension to this team that he can't. I liked the platoon we had with Getz vs RHP and Mix vs the lefties.
  14. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 10:47 PM) Rios and Nix can stay here for as long as they'd like if they continue to hit and field like this. Rios isn't going anywhere for a while.
  15. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) Well, Pods got in there, but then overslid the doormat. I laughed.
  16. Some would argue that leaving Bale in here to face Beckham is a big mistake.
  17. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 10:33 PM) Exactly, and to say, "worst managerial movie I've ever seen" speak volumes coming from fathom. I've seen worse, though. Ozzie s managing is atrocious. Do you not read game threads? fathom has said "worst move I've ever seen" many times. In the mean time, PODS!
