  1. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:43 PM) I know, if you average 22 and 12 every year in the NBA, you aren't that good. And 3 rings in the NFL- not that good. And nobody who's the youngest to 500 HR's ever is s***. Sure Kobe is the best player in the world, and Manning is great, along with Bonds. But I meant to say "maybe the 3 best in each sport". Key word- maybe. Garnett is not even top 5, maybe not even top 10, in the NBA anymore. Brady has been pampered because he doesn't make mistakes and has played on great teams. He's not that great, just very very smart. Bonds, well, I'll give you that one.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:42 PM) Yep, I hate 22 year old players who put up an OPS over .750 and switch hit. How about you give it a rest, and stop trying to negate every post someone makes? I'm sorry, you must have known he was going to be great since the day he was born. Please. There hasn't been a day in the last month where I haven't heard the same line from you regarding different players.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:41 PM) Who the hell cares about batting average as a stat? His slugging was much better in 2005. A whole 31 points.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:40 PM) I still love the people on here who thought Melky would be a terrible acquisition in a trade. Trade proposals bring out the worst in people on this site. Big whoop. He hit Charles Haeger. Give it a rest.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:38 PM) Good grief, Uribe's defense is so bad this year. And I totally forgot that AJ's last homer this year was the slam vs the Cubs. He's had such a bad year as well. No he hasn't. He's having a better statistical season than 05. Haha, 9-3. f*** you Kenny. There, I said it.
  6. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:35 PM) Like Bean Town... A-Rod, Brady, and KG...3 of the biggest names in each sport in one city 3 biggest names in each sport? Maybe to ESPN, yeah. But to the rest of the intelligent sports world the names are Bonds, Manning, and Bryant.
  7. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 06:25 PM) Not looking to good now, MIRITE? URITE
  8. HAHA! f*** CANO! HE SUCKS! HES AN AVERAGE BALLPLAYER. KEEPING JOSE CONTRERAS.....YEEEES!!!!! idontlikethewhitesoxverymuchrightnow.
  9. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:31 PM) It probably has nothing to do with his league leading 35 Hr's and 103 RBI's They've booed him this season too. It's ridiculous. I can't wait until he opts out a gives the Yankees' a big FU. I hope he goes to someone else in the AL East so he could obliterate them for the rest of his career. ARod is one of the only guys on the Yankees I actually respect.
  10. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 05:00 PM) He won't. From what I have seen of jefferson and taking his upside into consideration, I don't envision him as an all-star. Solid and serviceable in the low-post, but not All-Star caliber. I mean, they had to get something of value, and jefferson fulfills that. But the rest just isn't much. Those first-rounders will be low picks (not lottery almost without a doubt and protected anyways). I don't see the other guys amounting to much either. Better trades have been offered. I guess mchale really is just a celtic at heart. Eh, one big factor is that the west is more difficult. And KG is 100 times the player camby is (and healthy). Not a bad comparison, just not really the same. If all 3 stay healthy, the celtics should go far next year. Iverson + Anthony > Allen + Pierce, no doubt. Garnett > Camby by quite a bit, though Camby is the superior defense. It's a very similar case. Boston will make the playoffs but they won't make much noise. But ESPN will hype the living s*** of them.
  11. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 04:39 PM) And the celtics are giving up a whole lot of nothing, in truth. Jefferson and 2 1st rounders is a whole lot of something, especially considering Jefferson might have better numbers than Garnett this season. There are not enough shots to go around in Boston, and ESPN is hyping them up so damn much right now. Garnett, Allen, and Pierce aren't necessarily young either. Allen is 32 and missed 27 games last year, Pierce will turn 30 this season, and Garnett is 31 with 12 years in the league already. Rondo is more of a scorer/slasher then a distributer, and Perkins is about as unproven as anyone. They will be good, and they will be contenders, but people are going to be a bit disappointed. Look at the Nuggets, who had the 2 top scorers in the NBA and the DPOY....
  12. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 03:50 PM) Thirded. There are a couple minor issues with it and Vista, though... The only thing for me is the E-Mail Scanner. It disables it after you restart the computer. Not a big deal to click "Activate" though.
  13. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 11:51 AM) AVG and it's free. ^^^^ Seconded.
  14. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 03:18 PM) Suitable for framing. He bears a striking resemblance to John Danks.
  15. :BUZZER SOUND: followed by :SOUND OF BASKETBALL CLANKING OFF RIM:. Brick. Interesting Dye never made it onto BBTN.
  16. I have just received word that Rowand has agreed to sign a 12 year contract with the Sox this offseason worth the 1.8 million we save by dumping Iguchi and Mackowiak.
  17. So apparently we declined WMP and Craig Hansen from the BoSox and now we're likely stuck with Dye.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 02:56 PM) The Mackowiak trade saves about $916K this year We're rich, beeyotch!
  19. Gabbard, Murphy, and Beltre for Gagne. Done.
  20. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 02:47 PM) 25 minute SC update. You don't want to hear about Daunte Culpepper, Michael Vick, and Kevin Garnett every 7 seconds?
  21. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 02:31 PM) Haha, Atlanta wouldn't want him. I never said Atlanta would. I'm saying, get rid of Contreras. That's it.
  22. Dye will be on BBTN on ESPN2 after the commercial break...
