QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 10, 2007 -> 07:32 AM) Well him and David Villa will certainly make an interesting strike duo. I hope people will finally see he's better than Peter Crouch. But you're absolutely right, that is quite the duo. Zigic is huge, great with the head, has amazing tough for a big man, and Villa is the fast little assassin. Can't wait to see them together. They could end up being a better duo than Torres/Crouch.

QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 11:06 PM) Toshiba, but the IBook is sweet! I'd just get a windows Operating System to feel more comfortable though. ^ Toshiba. Have had no problems. They're light, thin, sleek, and have everything.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 01:12 AM) I'm in the same boat as SF1, move in day is Aug 22 and classes start 27. I'm moving in a day early though because my parents are old school and want to beat the rush. I'm pretty pumped about starting school, but I'm somewhat in the same position of Beastly. I don't really like to go out and get wasted all the time, I made my college decision based on my major not because of IU's recognition as a party school. I'm going in with an open mind though, and I'm really looking forward to meeting new people because few kids from my school are going to IU (about 80 kids are going to Purdue because we had 2 basketball players go there). Well, the way I'm trying to plan it out is to move in the 22nd, make a bunch of friends, then have a party on the 27th for my birthday. What will inevitably happen is that I'll spend my birthday alone playing 360 with my roommate.

I'm sure Bob Feller remembers watching Babe Ruth vividly.

Ironic that Jenks has been phenomenal when Fathom hasn't been here?

I get Sunderland/Tottenham, Bolton/Newcastle, Man City/West Ham, Aston Villa/Liverpool, Everton/Wigan, and Derby/Portsmouth all on Saturday with FSN and Setanta.

Nice to see Sizemore look absolutely stupid once in a while.

Someone tell Steve Stone that Fields would have gotten nailed had he starting running immediately.

I'm a it surprised to see no DMX on there. He usually comes up with some really hyped up songs. I was most surprised to see Backstreet Boys on there. You're the man Bobby Crosby. Someone should really have "Just Like You Imagined" from Nine Inch Nails aka the song from the "300" trailer.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 04:22 PM) The only thing I have ever worried about with journalism is the thought of graduating and not getting a job for awhile. As far as I know, your chances are much better if you get a broad communications education.

Armando Benitez and Bobby Crosby And you can tell Rob Mackowiak is from the South Side. BTW, Huston Street =

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 09:45 AM) Once again, is he any better than what we have in Boone and Thorton? 2.66, 4.72, 5.14? I know ERA doesn't tell the whole story but it's not like we're at a position of strength here...

I am glad for Barry and I am proud I was able to watch history live. I watched him hit 71 live and I watched him hit 756 live. Amazing.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 11:14 PM) I'm proud to say I wasn't watching. Wow.

756 FOR BONDS!!!!!!!!!!! We've witnessed history. Until about 2011 when A-Rod breaks it again.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) What the hell is "Liberal Arts Intro?" It's not only a soft schedule, but damn, talk about convenient timing. No classes before 10:00 AM as a freshman is nearly unheard of from my experience. Here's my schedule: Race, Class, and Gender Dimensions of Crime and Justice - CRJ 547 Criminological Theory - CRJ 520 Intro to Liberal Arts is bascially a "Welcome to College" course. Class description: "A study of the nature and importance of liberal education, including the education of the adult free citizen, through extensive reading of classical and modern texts and through examination of the contemporary state of liberal education in the university and society."

I hate the sound of Steve Stone's voice. -
QUOTE(dasox24 @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 06:14 PM) Nicely done, especially for a freshman. Are you sure that math is only M/W, though? Seems odd. No, I made a mistake. MTH 110 is MWF and the WRT 150 is Tue/Thu.
-
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 06:01 PM) That is the softest schedule for a freshman I have ever seen. I know.

QUOTE(Beastly @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) It's nice to hear the reassurance here, because I'm going to be quite lost when I go down there. I'm not wanting to change who I am or what I believe in, I just would like to make more friends, maintain a relationship with someone very close to me back home and just take it easy. I wouldn't mind going to go out and socialize, but I guess drinking and dancing isn't really my thing. Dancing only is my thing when I'm at a wedding or at a school function. I agree that people change a lot but I hope that I'll remain mostly of who I want to be and have some of the same beliefs. I'm sure going out won't be a problem, it's just finding those people who share interests (sports, World of Warcraft, video games, D&D, Warlord the CCG and Magic the Gathering.) Again, sorry for the random posts out to people on the board, but I'm one to write better than communicate my thoughts than through speaking. I'm sure the transition will be an adjustment, but will be a positive one. Don't worry Beastly, I'm sure there are tons of other people like you in all colleges. Some people just like to lay back and chill instead of going to a bunch of parties all the time. I get in those moods too when all I want to do is watch some movies or play 360 for hours on end...and if ever there was a place to do that, college is that place.
