You serious? Ozuna is "no longer young" at 33 but Loretta is "not that old" at 36? -

QUOTE(rockren @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 03:01 PM) Hopefully we'll be celebrating a Druw Jones deal later as well. (Complete speculation off of my own wishful thinking....we haven't been linked to Druw Down at all as of yet). The Dodgers have offered him a 2 year, $32 million deal. -

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 02:00 PM) Balta, I don't think anyone here other than you and I seem to think Owens can be a successful major league leadoff hitter. I think he's likely to be .340-.350 OBP with 50+ SB at an 80%+ success rate if given the chance. But I'm in the minority. Steve and I were just discussing this. Both of us are also fans of Owens abilities and potential. -

MLB.com confirms that the Diamondbacks are trading Carlos Quentin to the White Sox for first baseman Chris Carter. It doesn't sound like any other players are involved in the deal set to be announced this afternoon. Source: MLB.com Related: White Sox -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 01:52 PM) That is true...this does set up this team exactly for a Left handed, good defense, speedy CF leading off, and Crisp does fit that profile. I think that's exactly what our next move will be. -

Suddenly, our OF got a lot stronger. As of right now, Quentin is our starting LF, with Owens in center and Dye in right. If we sign one of Jones/Rowand/Fuku, our OF could be sitting pretty for a while. Fuku/Quentin/Dye & Owens 4th Quentin/Rowand/Dye & Owens 4th Quentin/Jones/Dye & Owens 4th -
351-57-5 The random words kind of throw me off since I can't get into a good flow. I can type without looking at the keyboard, but for some reason I just never got the home row crap. I just kinda put my hands out there and go at it. People always tell me it looks weird when I type but I've gotten used to it and I'm comfortable with it.

The Twins are close to landing Delmon Young from the Twins in a six-player deal that would send Matt Garza, Jason Bartlett and Juan Rincon to Tampa Bay. The Twins would also pick up Brendan Harris and Jason Pridie, the Star Tribune's La Velle E. Neal III reports. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 01:16 AM) After doing a pretty in depth internet search on Orlando Cabrera I'm having a hard time finding anyone who doesn't like him as a player, especially anyone who watched him in Anaheim. From what I've gathered his stats take a hit because he gives up so many ABs in the 2 hole. He also puts himself in unfavorable counts since he's willing to take pitches for a baserunner. If it's at all possible he seems to be an even better defender than his reputation lets on, he's very smart in the field, 100% focused at all times (the anti-Uribe) and can make all the tough plays. He's well liked in the clubhouse, is good to the media and speaks very good english. I also heard an interview Boers and Bernstein did today with Kevin Baxster, he covers the Angels for the LA times, he like everyone else had absolutely nothing bad to say about Cabrera and described him as an "average to young 33 years old" so he isn't exactly slowing down. I never paid a lot of attention to Orlando Cabrera but after reading the Angels/Red Sox fans' take on him I'm really starting to like this deal even more than before. Cabrera is a real baseball player unlike a lot of the guys we've been forced to watch on the South Side over the years. Your research and rationale are not welcome here. We only accept knee-jerk and anti-GM posts. Sorry.

What are the chances we get the Rays to sell low on Baldelli? I know, probably zero. But if they are that desperate, do you think we could pry away some of their arms to pop into the bullpen? Maybe a Juan Salas or Mitch Talbot?

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Nov 4, 2007 -> 10:53 AM) Yes, Grand Valley State in 2OT. But it's just an exhibition game, so no biggie. BOOYAH! GO GRAND VALLEY! Just thought I'd throw that in there. -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 31, 2007 -> 03:41 PM) Hmmm, would people prefer trading Hinrich and Gordon, or Gordon, Thomas and Noah for Kobe? Gordon, Thomas, and Noah BY FAR. Actually, now that I think about it, Thabo and Kobe in the backcourt isn't bad either.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 08:17 PM) My dad called and said Griese's in-helmet mic/speaker wasn't working, so the last drive was all him calling the plays. Can anyone confirm if this is true? I find that rather funny. Yahoo!'s post game recap said it was out as well.

I've been following the Hawks closely this year and I am really excited about what I see. Kane and Toews are the real deal and I cannot wait to see this team with Havlat at full strength. I haven't gotten this excited about hockey in a long time. This may sound dumb, I hope not, but what happened to Seabrook, Skille, and Cam Barker?

I'm in my dorm room right now, sick as balls, watching the DVD of Game 2 of the WS. The last couple days have included a lot of White Sox nostalgia for me.
