  1. You would think we had the best bullpen in the world or something...and please don't give me the "we have a LOOGY" crap...if he gets righties out, use him against righties. Shocking, I know. It's so hard to compute...
  2. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:44 AM) Don't forget your fake ID. ...bit curious why you have that picture though.
  3. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 02:35 PM) Plus he's a Cyclone. Thornton was a Laker.
  4. I haven't been around much the last few days. Is he still at 41? Has he not pitched since the Seattle series at home?
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 15, 2007 -> 10:26 PM) I really wonder what happened to closing it. Do do I.

    The Illusionist was a very good movie. I enjoyed it a lot. I want to see The Prestige now to see which was better.

    Rush Hour 3 was very very funny. Enjoyable, but nothing spectacular. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 11:38 AM) He was playing Nikolai Tesla, the famous Russian physicist/psycho Ugh. 1.) It's Nikola Tesla. 2.) He was Serbian.
  8. I move in on Wednesday. Looking forward to it.
  9. Happy birthday! Here's to many future NUKED toilets...
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 11:23 PM) I like Beckham as a player, but the entire Planet Beckham is a bit much. The kick was nice, good bend high and away. Everyone in the stadium, watching knew what Beckham was going to do. I could of predicted where the ball would be placed as Beck pretty much hits his free kicks the same way. The only one who had no clue what was going on was the goalie who didnt even move on the kick. He almost was in awe. Now with watching MLS football, and how bad they are on set pieces I can see why this could be. It was a tough shot, but not even to move is just bad. To me Beckham still has a nice crisp pass, and a nice free kick. He doesnt play off the ball that well anymore, his fitness is bad and he doesnt move free without the ball. I pretty much agree 100%. I just re-watched it, and the goalie is worse than I thought. He took a hop step in the wrong direction, and then just stood there looking like an idiot. I love how he tried to look pissed by punting the ball away. I don't know, just looks a little fishy to me. Looks almost as if it was staged. And confetti? Really? I didn't notice until now. I'm hoping that was just some fans throwing s*** around. Hell, I still can't believe the confetti from the unveiling press conference for Becks.
  11. Those commentators are more ridiculous than when the Cubs hit a walk-off. My god. And what the hell was the goalie doing? Has he never seen a free kick before? I mean, it was a nice shot, but the goalie looked absolutely clueless. I hate Beckham with a passion. For the pretty boy image, for the overratedness on the pitch, for the dumbass contract, for all the stupid hype, and mainly because people know more about his wife than his days at ManU...when he actually used to be a really good player. I haven't watched any of the games he's played in the US, and I don't plan on it. He doesn't interest me at all.
  12. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Aug 15, 2007 -> 11:18 AM) That seems to be a great routine. I do a lot of that kind of stuff to keep me flexible and in shape. They are right, you don't want to be too upper body strong as you need to have some big legs and 'butt' or you must make up for it in height. I also try to run at least 2 miles a day so those days when you humidity is at its worst, you can still fight through. Arm bands and Dr. Joeb workouts are essential too. I think SoxFan1 would agree as if i recall correctly I think he is a pitcher in college too. Definitely. Pitchers don't want to be bulked up, but in top condition and very toned. Stamina is very important and running helps keep it up. I've done most of these exercises, but the mistake I made was that I didn't focus on lower body enough, hence, dislocated knee's galore.
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 15, 2007 -> 03:07 PM) Chelsea played like absolute horse-s*** in the first half, yet in a five minute period in the second half, they've taken the lead on Reading 2-1. Amazing... Chelsea, along with Real Madrid and Barcelona, are so loaded with talent, that they cannot be discounted from any game with any deficit. In a matter of minutes, they can turn it on and blow a team away. It's ridiculous. Whats really amazing about Chelsea, is that, for a team with world class players coming in and out all the time, they play with great communication and understanding. Through passes and runs and everything. These neon yellow jerseys are quite interesting though. EDIT: Bolton loses again. They look terrible.

  15. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 11, 2007 -> 07:48 PM) He looks clean. Wow, just read that article. Thats ridiculous, and it kind of makes you wonder. Boston is a beast physically and Thomas Jones is a human muscle. They hung around together....
  16. Holy crap, didn't watch the ManU/Reading game but I just saw that Rooney broke his foot. http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=afp-...p&type=lgns
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 04:09 PM) Dumb enough to play Mackowiak in CF time and time again last year when we WERE in a race, a move which cost us a few wins in itself. He's not making these dumb moves because we're out of the race, he did the same s*** last year when we were in a race. Yeah, you're right. It couldn't have been our terrible pitching that cost us a playoff appearance. I mean, what kind of manager wins 90 games and expects to win a division with 2 teams that came out of nowhere and played phenomenal baseball.
  18. Html would have to be involved for the link, I believe.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) I think we'll be good enough to have a shot at making the playoffs next year, thus at this time next year, the games will obviously mean a lot more if I'm right. And a stupid move or two by Ozzie right now means nothing, but if your in a race where a game or two might decide who goes to October like I think we will be in 2008, these silly mistakes could be fatal. That's all. So this entire time, you've been b****ing because he could possibly make this same mistake next year, when we could possibly be in the hunt for the playoffs? Yet, you know right now, any decision or move he makes means absolutely nothing. How dumb do you think Ozzie is?
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) Yeah these games mean little, but these moves are things that bother me when you consider we damn well could be right in the middle of the race this time next year. Can you elaborate on this more?
  21. QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 02:47 PM) The bottom 3-4 teams get moved down to the lower league. In the Premier League it's 3 teams that move down, but it's more in others. As far as I know, all the major leagues have 3 up and 3 down. EPL has 3, Ligue 1 ha 3, La Liga has 3, Bundesliga has 3, and Serie A has 3. Some have a playoff between the 3/4 teams and some have an automatic relegation/promotion if they are within/above a certain amount of points. It's 10 in most leagues.
  22. QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 12:23 AM) That's the biggest problem with European soccer. Teams like West Ham are supposed to suck every year. They sucked last year too.
