QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) Good job posting facts. I like How everyone arguing is hiding from #'s. It's kinda cute actually Here's a fact: Iguchi leads the world in productive outs..... How's that for ya???

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 02:11 AM) Quit with this getting guys over BS. Like Fathom said we could put a pitcher in the # 2 hole with that approach. All I know is when I seen Willie Harris Healthy and starting he did a great job. The only reason rowand finally got his shot last year was because of all the injuries. WE HAD NO CHOICE. Other wise I bet Rowand= Traded I haven't seen s*** from Willy when he started. Remember that game against Oakland before the AS break? 1st inning, Pods on 1st, 0 out, Willie up, fails to get him over. 2nd inning, Pods on 1st, 0 out, Willie up, fails to get him over. 3rd inning, Pods on 1st, 0 out, Willie up, fails to get him over. 4th inning, Pods on 1st, 0 out, Willie up, fails to get him over. 5th inning, Pods on 1st, 0 out, Willie up, fails to get him over. 6th inning, Pods on 1st, 0 out, Willie up, fails to get him over. ......... I'd bet ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD that Gooch get's him over in EVERY single opportunity that game, thus, avoiding a sweep. Man, ChiSox losses really get people on the wacky stuff....

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 02:08 AM) http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/6798/gamelog Look at the patterns in these numbers. WOW! Talk about a steady decrease from May 13th on down in AVG!
-
You seriously cannot be considering putting Willie in for Gooch. s***, at least Gooch can get some guys over. Did anybody happen to see the 2 out double he hit past Millar....guess not because there is no damn mention of it anywhere. Come on guys, 1 loss and everybody is ready to seceed the division to the Twins. Gimme a break. All this whining and b****ing anf moaning, get the hell outta here. And all this BS about the league "adjusting to Gooch" is just that, BULLs***. Nobody says that about rookie players, just imported players. Get out of here. No one was complaining about how they "adjusted" to Jon in his rookie year. All this BS about adjusting to imported players is crap too...

Oh my god he is in a f***in slump. God damn people here overreact after a game so much. IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!!! Holy s***, he made 1 bad play, as did Crede, and now everyone wants to jump of their respective bandwagons. Gimme a break. We hit a bump in the road, s***! Anyone who even JOKINGLY thinks Willie shoud replace Gooch is a dumbass IMO. Honestly, gimme a break. Every team loses a game once in a while. I'm with fathom on this one. People overreact too damn much!

QUOTE(CubKilla @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) Lee Elia f***ing rules Clearly you have been absent from SoxTalk too long. "RIP EM" and "EAT s***" as well as other non-household phrases and words, have become staples of SoxTalk. WELCOME BACK. ANYWAAAAAAYS, Jon has to go get 'em tomorrow, er, today I guess. This is a big BIG game. Make em eat s*** Jonny!

White Sox fans to Red Sox fans......and God:

I think 99% of all Sox fans were thinking the same thought after Crede's botched pop-up...... "Damn, Manny is gonna make us pay."

QUOTE(CubKilla @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) I've been lurking mostly the last few months. I've been working my ass off since about February. Damn, I haven't heard from you in forever!

QUOTE(CubKilla @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) It wasn't just the Colorado media CK!?!?! Where the f*** have ya been?!?!

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) If a DL is out there that makes sense, Kenny is going to make it. At the same time I don't want him making a deal just to say he made a deal. It better make some sense cause if you go out and force yourself into something it could be even worse. KW is smarter than that. I honestly feel he's gonna pull a deal out of his ass that will immensley improve the team.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) Zoom this lineup is the same thing as we had before. This is why our offense has been getting shut down like they have. We took out Maggs and Carlos who were both .300 hitters with big power and all. We insterted Pods who can hit 300 and Dye who is a 270 hitter. Konerko is going for power only hence his low BA. AJ is batting 40 points less than his career BA. I dont want a monster lineup. I want a high OBP team that can move runners over and get them in. Not strand runners all over while they pop up. I have seen that offense before. In his defense, that is what we saw tonight.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) Kevin Millar? Kevin Millar of the .386 SLG% and terrible defense? That Kevin Millar? The one that just about every Red Sox fan is dying to rid themselves of? He's no upgrade. And Scott Hatteberg is in the same boat. He's slugging .372 and is on the wrong side of 30. If we're interested in either of these two guys, why not just give Ross Gload a shot. He's a better defender than both of 'em, and hasn't shown that he can't be an everyday player. Why not give him a shot? Or, there's Adam Dunn... CON...SID....ER

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:20 AM) Where has having the monster lineup gotten us in the past? How many times do you see the monster lineups get shut down in the playoffs? Their offensive prowess is offset by their pitching deficiencies. Even assuming they consistently get 4 or 5 runs against our staff, which I don't see as that likely with our big 3 getting most of the games, there's a good chance that our guys do the same thing against the likes of Wells, Wakefield, and Arroyo. Well, they did win the World Series last year...?

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) Freddy Garcia can get the strikeouts if need be, but unfortunately he doesn't turn it on until the 3rd inning. I live in fear of what the Red Sox or Yankees would do to him in his first two innings when he struggles I think Boston leads the league in pitches taken at bat.... do you have any idea what that is going to do to Contreras? Wow gives me the chills just thinking of him throwing three straight forkballs in the dirt, getting a 3-1 count then another forkball in the dirt or hung... Luckily I get to see him in person Sunday! :headshake :puke
-
DB's, I would slobber over myself if the Sox could get Overbay....
-
It doesn't take a blind man to see that this team needs improvement. KW will recognizre this, book it.
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) Snow, Hatteberg, Durazo, and Millar are the only ones I would even consider. Robin too.
-
If I was KW, I would definitely overpay to improve this team. Right now, I don't think anyone in AAA/AA/A is untouchable. We need to improve at SP, SS, Bullpen, 3B. In that order.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) Ortiz lefty Manny righty Varitek righty Millar righty no? Lefty Right Switch ????

Any idea of who the big 1B FA's are this off-season?

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) *BUZZ* I'm sorry, but THAT was a wrong answer. The correct answer was "Dougly". Ahahahaha.
