Equus zebra is simple enough to remember for mountain zebras, but Equus quagga (plains zebra) and Equus grevyi (Grévy's zebra) don't stick in my head and I always have to look them up.

Classification of zebras is interesting, with three extant species of monophyletic origins (DNA-confirmed) split into two distinct subgenera within the genus Equus which also contains the horses and asses. I said asses. heh. . . heh. . .
