QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) Find a new place Tex. http://www.knockouts.net/ I looked at the website under Services but couldn't find "Full Release Haircut" listed anywhere.
  2. On Old Olympus' towering top a Finn and German viewed some hops.
  3. It would be a totally subjective list, and the young know-nothings ( ) would bias the outcome but I think it's time for a favorite beers list. I'd suggest a favorite rums list but I'd have a hard time limiting myself to 20-25 and everyone else would have a hard time thinking of the 5-10 rums they may have tried.

I haven't been loyal to a barber since college. Now I totally roll the dice with whoever is manning the stations at the cheapo Great Clips places. Usually I get a decent enough cut, but there have been other times when I have been totally hair raped. It's kind of the running joke in the house now waiting to see how bad Dad's haircut is when he comes home from the barber shop.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 31, 2010 -> 05:30 PM) My list. Exorcist way overrated. I am at a loss for words.
  6. Whoa, the Shining beats out Exorcist for top spot?!?? Both darn good movies, but I still easily give the nod to The Exorcist. Great job as usual on the listmastering, knightni! :headbang Happy Halloween!
  7. Delicious Halloween Pumpkin Grog just made by me in the following manner: • 2 oz pumpkin juice (baked pumpkin macerate w/ apple cider and strain) • 2 oz passion fruit juice • 0.75 oz cinnamon syrup • 0.25 oz lime juice • 1 oz Sailor Jerry spiced rum • 1 oz Old New Orleans spiced rum Shake w/ice, pour unstrained, drink.
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 01:50 PM) I liked the new King Kong. It was different than the old one enough that it was like a new movie. I don't watch it much because it makes me sad. Poor monkey. Great ape, not monkey. And I didn't think the new one was awful, justy not a classic. Way better than the one where they put the giant Jarvik 7 artificial heart in Kong to bring him back to life. Was I the only one in the world who saw that turd?
  9. Zoinks, quick but not necessarily correctly :-)
  10. XBL would be the airport code for Buno Bedele Airport, Buno Bedelle Ethiopia in case you wanted to get your fake dyslexia looked at by a quack doctor over there.
  11. Smetona can be discussed any time or place, you missed nothing.
  12. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 11:57 AM) I'm fairly certain that everyone thinks the same thing. I thought Naomi Watts was quite stunning as Ann Darrow, but otherwise yes very forgettable aside from the FX.
  13. Notable bit of trivia regarding "Vinegar" Joe Stillwell is that he adopted the phrase "Illegitimi non carborundum" as his wartime motto, which is very bad Latin for "Don't let the bastards grind you down."

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 02:49 AM) I f***ing love Halloween. I also really love Jameson Whiskey. I agree with both of those statements.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 05:27 AM) Outside of The Thing, there is not one horror remake that's as good as the original. Off the top of my head I agree, although the Invasion of the Body Snatchers remake with Donald Sutherland comes close IMO. Most people also rank The Ring as better than the Japanese original (I don't), although I know that a contemporary American adaptation of an international film is not the same as the modernization of classic films that comprise most of the remakes we're talking about. What I don't get is the shot-for-shot remakes, ala' the Omen remake. Why even bother??
  16. French Indochina of the 19th and early 20th century included Cambodia as well as large portions of Vietnam.
  17. Bolaji Badejo was a 7 foot 2 inch Nigerian design student when he was cast as the alien in Ridley Scott's film Alien. He got the job because he fit the suit. If you don't believe it read knightni's list entry for the movie.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) Unless Wikipedia is lying to me, Dalia Grybauskaitė is the president of Lithuania now. Zipping off that post I neglected to say "last president prior to the 1940 Soviet occupation."
  19. Smetona, Antanas, was the first, fifth, and last president of Lithuania.
  20. X would mark the spot if this map was drawn by pirates.
  21. Vladivostok is Russia's largest port city on the Pacific Ocean.
  22. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 12:56 PM) I'm glad The Thing made into the top 10. Great flick. Me too. I need to rewatch that. I totally forgot that the TV edit ending with the Thinh transformed into the sled dog was not the original theatrical ending.
  23. QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 06:26 AM) At my school everyone is in costume on Friday. I will not be in a costume, instead I will be in correct Native American medicine man regalia. So will that be Cheech or Chong?
