  1. As White Sox fans, we wouldn't know.
  2. I have Best of Badfinger on CD, I don't know about the rest of their catalog. Magic Christian and No Dice are the only two I have on vinyl.
  3. Tecnically it is often considered a Beatles song, since it was penned during the time when all John and Paul songs were credited as Lennon/McCartney regardless of who penned them. The song is part of the original Northern Songs/EMI Beatles catalog I think the Paul-pennned "Come and Get It" (performed by Badfinger on the Magic Christian Music album) also falls into that odd category even though John had nothing to do with the writing and the Beatles never released a recording of it. George's All Things Must Pass (song, not album) is also legally a part of the Beatles composition catalog, even though there was never a Beatle version released.
  4. That all seems reasonable, even his declining the ride to the airport although the articles I read today implied he was stupid for refusing. If I was offered a ride in a marked military transport vehicle along a route that has been dubbbed "RPG Road" in reference to the attacks on Coalition military that have occurred there, in the current hostile environment over there, I might just decline as well. For better or worse, here was a guy who had (until being picked up on March 30) safely travelled unaccompanied in a place where few other westerners are right now. He may have had concerns but decided he would be less of a target if he continued to move in a low-profile way on his own. Sadly, it seems not to have worked.
  5. Uribe makes the catch in foul territory for the 3rd out.
  6. That DP saved Jon's skin this inning.
  7. "Yes It Is (Take 14)" from the legendary Hammerhead Compilation Series "While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Take 1)" from same
  8. I've not seen any of those yet either. I'll miss Tommy J. on it, but with the big Lewis and Clark bicentennial (including the 3 year expedition reenactment launching this weekend I think), it's a good heritage tie-in.
  9. I would assume the individual circulations on each of the eventual 50 coins would be low, but overall the number of quarters would be about the same as the number that have been in circulation in recent times. We got the kids one of the 50 state folders when the first states aere released, but we haven't added to it since. I usually make a mental note when I get a new state in my change that I haven't seen before, but the only thing I still actively pull out of my pocket change and set aside are the few bicentennial's that still turn up.
  10. ACC is marginally better than MP3, and substantially better than WMA (yet another crap Microsoft standard). Apple Lossless importing of CD tracks is a big improvement on the quality of AIFF CD audio and only makes files half the size. That is worth the upgrade to the new iTunes in and of itself.
  11. You can still burn CD's in 4/4.5, PA, the interface has just changed a little. First create a playlist to burn from, and then the "browse" eyeball button on the top right corner becomes a "burn disc" button on those playlist pages. Still works quite nicely.
  12. D-Train pitched a nice CG yesterday, btw. Yeah, I'd like a Dontrelle or two to emerge for us.
  13. Is that veiled language for "on the juice," Tex.
  14. Kudoz, Aboz. I can't help but notics the growing number of BeatleHeads that also just happen to be admins... Guess that means PA is S.O.L., huh?
  15. Not too shabby for a Sox and (*gulp!*) D-Rays castoff, huh?
  16. damn, you beat me! I ran 4:50 in high school lo those many years ago. It was a drill to make soccer cuts and the coach said anyone who did not beat 5:00 would be cut. Well, when only me and one other guy made it he obviously couldn't carry through on the threat. The fullbacks were coming in at 7 and 8 minutes, and didn't have much of a team without them. Still, the motivation worked, for me at least.
  17. Yes it was Baker... Did the Michael Jackson "Thriller" Video too, and lots of Star Wars aliens.
  18. Digital killed the prosthetics star... (with apologies to the Buggles).
  19. Yanking the half-price nights is not the right solution IMO. Putting more ushers and more security on for those nights, as well as hiring ushers willing to do their friggin' jobs. Those guys should not have been let into that seating section if they did not have tickets, it's that simple. Doing that one little thing keeps the "UD lowlife" out of the 100 level seating areas, and keeps all UD patrons from again being unfafairly singled out for retribution via park policy.
  20. Conspiracy plotlines aside, the basic story makes sense: Berg's job guarantee that brought him back to Iraq fizzled out. With no sponsor, he kicked around trying to get consulting work (turns out the guy was brilliant). he gives up and is trying to get back to teh US when he is picked up by Iraqi police at a checkpoint on March 30. With no military connections and no government or private sector sponsor there doesn't seem to be a good reason he is there. The FBI are appraised and make a visit to his family asking what he was doing in Iraq, and meet with him several times while he was being detained to discuss the same. Why he was not allowed any communication with his family is beyond me, as the calls or emails could have been monitored and he was not a threat in any way. 13 days after he is picked up, and right after his dad finally sues for wrongful imprisonment he is released, but still without any military, government, or private sector sponsorship to aid him in leaving the country. He is an American alone at the height of anti-American outrage over Abu Ghraib, is an easy target for the militants who kidnap him and the rest is history. I don't think the militants told him what was going to happen to him and only told him to identify himself on a video that would be used to ransom him or whatever, so it isn't odd that he could fairly calmly state his identity. It was only then that the plans for him became apparent. I'm ashamed that this straightforward narrative seems plausable - my conspiracy theory club card will peobebly be revoked. Still, plausabe, probable, etc., is not enough to say that's for sure how it happened and it's good to scrutinize. In any event the Coalition forces that detained him sans communication and then sent him out on his own will take a lot of heat I'm sure.
  21. Oh, crap, you're right. OK, mooch, let me tell you how offended I am by those comparisons. Offended on behalf of the chimps, that is.
