  1. I love that bunt, Garner. You've got three outs left in the season and you give away one of them. Thank you.
  2. Here we go, folks. The moment we've been waiting for for our entire lives. Sit back, relax (yeah right) and strap it down.
  3. Christ, Rowand, not one of those pitches was a strike!
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) Do you guys think Rowand would have scored if he kept going? There's no excuse for that by Rowand. I don't think he would have scored. It's not like he stopped; he just hesitated for a couple of steps. Still inexcusable though.
  5. Sigh... I knew it wouldn't be easy, but watching this is so frustrating. Hold 'em, Freddy!
  6. I agree. Damaso pitched well. I think Ozzie was smart to save him until the Sox were on the road. No booing to distract him... Well done, Damaso.
  7. I just want to give some props to Marte tonight. I thought he should have been left off the playoff roster, but he pitched well tonight. Yeah, he walked two, but he also struck out three in an inning and a third -- no runs and got the decision. What a team.
  8. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! One more! Just... one... more....
  9. This is the most important inning of my life.
  10. Am I drunk? Am I dreaming? Is this really happening? Yes!!!!
  11. BLUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. That's 12 walks tonight for Sox pitchers. If they lose tonight, it's not Marte's fault. They've been giving away this game from the start.
  13. Six walks in the last inning and a third -- Merry Christmas, Astros.
  14. Geez, this ain't good. Every single break in this game has gone the Astros' way. Let's keep it close.
  15. Four double plays in two innings, tying a major league record no doubt.
  16. On the ESPN postgame they're saying how the Astros are a big favorite in Game 3 because of Oswalt and that they have a huge home-field advantage. They neglect to mention that the White Sox are 56-29 on the road this year. With apologies to anyone who has Game 6 or 7 tickets, I hope tonight was their last home game. Just two more.
  17. I DON'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW!!!!!!!!!
  18. Holy crap, we got another huge break! Can Paulie take advantage?
  19. So the North side/South side dividing line in Chicago is Madison AVENUE? Typical East Coast bias, Fox. Try Madison STREET.
  20. At least Carl hit it hard. Tip your cap to Ensberg. Hold 'em, Mark!
  21. Taveras is slugging 1.400 in the Series.
  22. Just heard on the radio pre-game that they are taking the tarp off the infield. C'mon, Mark, how about nice, efficient two-hour victory?
  23. I just saw the radar on the Weather Channel and it looks like the rain is just circling over the area. Seems like it will be a miracle if they play tonight. Hope a postponement doesn't ruin the Sox's momentum.

I've been lurking here since April, but this my first post. (Don't worry, I'm no bandwagon fan. I've been a fan of the Sox since the days of Wilbur Wood, Dick Allen and Jorge Orta. I'm just shy.) I had a brainstorm. My idea is to have Hawk and DJ do their thing announcing the the World Series just like they were covering the game as usual. Then, when MLB releases the inevitable DVD box set of the Series, they could use Hawk-and-DJ's play-by-play as an alternate audio track. That's the one thing I miss about the playoffs. You get used to your TV guys all season and then the playoffs start and you have to listen to clueless national announcers. I would have loved to hear Harrelson and Jackson call these playoff games. Four games away. Unreal. I never thought I'd see this opportunity for the White Sox. Let's close the deal.
