  1. Personally, I want it to be the ONLY Chicago sports news item of the day. I want them to send a message to the players saying, NOW it's on you. You've gotten hitting coaches fired, pitching coaches fired, and NOW a manager fired. There's no one left to blame but YOU. Which is not true, of course ( KW and JR ) but the message will come out that way.

I think that would be the best too. It seems like our guys always need somethign to motivate them other than winning :bang

  2. I just dont understand how alot of experts pixk the sox going to the playoffs, and now we are going to get swept by the worst team ever. We need to clear house while there is still a house to clear

  3. I have him on my fantasy team this year. I think he is a good player. What do you think his stats will be for this year.

I think he could win 17-18, 3.5-4.0 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, I dont know about K's

  4. This team is horrible, and will not make the playoffs unless there is a huge managerial and front office change. The team has no fundamentals, no passion, and no drive. I hope we keep doing bad so manuel gets fired

  5. I know, I know Jimenez isn't even close to the caliber of player that Soriano is, but I thought it would be interesting to compare Jimenez to the best second baseman in the league.

    Soriano's #'s through 18 games..

G AB  R  H  2b 3b HR Rbi Tb BB SO SB CS  OBP  SLG  AVG

    18 83 17 31 4 1 6  16  55  5  14 4 1 .429 .663 .373

    Jimenez's #'s through 16 games..

G AB  R  H  2b 3b HR Rbi Tb BB SO SB CS  OBP  SLG  AVG

    16  66 13 25 5    4 3 10 47 10  6 2 1 .461 .712 .379

Thus far in the young season D'Angelo has a better average, obp, and slugging percentage than Soriano. I doubt it will stay this way for much longer, yet Jimenez has solid numbers.  If both keep this up we can expect both of them to be playing at the all-star game at the Cell.

Ya never know. He WAS rated higher than soriano, in the yanks system. Players come out of nowhere sometimes. He does have talent. I'm not ready to compare him to soriano, but i do think hes a good player with a lot of upside.

it all depends on his work ethic. I think he is still yound enough to become the best 2B outside of the yankees. But it seems his work ethic has been his problem in the past. Only time will tell

  6. Frank definitley needs to stay here, even if there is a drop in productivity. He is the best player in sox history, and it would be a damn shame to see him retire in any other jersey. We can always move him around in the batting order if we need to.

  7. I think carlos could be about the same caliber of player that maggs is, if he wasnt a lazy bastard. Maggs busts his ass in the offseason. but instead, he sits on his front porch eating burritos, and watches the bottom line on ESPN and ESPN 2 in awe.

  8. Lee really had some good swings on the ball today and defensively he looked fine.  He's actually become very solid out there.

Konerko, Thomas, Rowand, and Olivo are the big holes in the lineup in my humble opinion.  Thomas is drawing walks, but nothing else.

Carlos was in that book but he's coming out of his slump.  I also can guarantee that Daubach will be at first, Rios will be in center and Sandy will be behind the plate.

I don't think they should move Lee up to the 3 hole quite yet, but if Lee has a few more games like today, then he will be up there, thats as long as Thomas is still not getting many good swings on the ball.

    he did not, he sucks

  9. man, what a great pickup by KW. once wright comes back and/or garland gets it going, our rotation has to be second in the AL. Also, what kind of stuff does he throw? I havent got to watch him yet
