Again, I don't trust George McCaskey or Ted Phillips so why would I trust whomever they hired to make football decisions? I have no reason to be anything but extremely skeptical about the Bears until they prove otherwise. -

Yes, I know it is irrational but I just dont want to be disappointed. It is how I deal with 25 years of incompetence. I dont like getting excited and then getting disappointed repeatedly. This is my coping mechanism. Should I start at neutral? Probably. But even that I feel is giving management too much credit. -

I reserve the right to change my opinion if the evidence presents itself. The default is "this guy sucks" and I haven't seen enough evidence to convince me otherwise. -

Kane and Toews showed their talent the moment they stepped on the ice. 20 games into the 07-08 season I was sold. -

Fox and Loggains sucked, there is no denying that. Sometimes, it is better to expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised rather than expecting good results and being dissappointed. -

There is nothing unreasonable about saying "I'll believe it when I see it" about the Bears finding a decent QB. They have a 70 year track record of failure on that subject so I don't see what's so controversial about it. -

Bill Wirtz died 3 months after Kane was drafted. I'm saying in 2007, after that event, it was a lot more plausible. If Dollar Bill lived a couple more years it would have been much less believable. Neither 19/88 had donned the Indianhead yet at the time of Bill Wirtz's passing. Dollar Bill kicks the Bucket is #1 on the list of things that had to happen for the Hawks to be successful. I remember this very well, that Bill Wirtz died right around the end of September in 2007. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. -

Yeah, but it matters less in football. Football is all about the QB position, similar to having a LeBron or Durant in the NBA -

The truth is the following: With the Blackhawks, some of the talent was already there and it is really tough to blow a top 3 pick in the NHL With the Cubs, Epstein and Hoyer already had a very long track record of drafting and developing players with Boston. You can say neither of those things with the Bears, Bulls and Sox. Those two rebuilds deserved the benefit of the doubt because of track record. With the other three it is easy to blow a top 3 draft pick, and there is zero track record of competence. It was much more plausible that the Hawks and Cubs were going to turn it around than the Sox, Bears or Bulls are. There is much more of a track record of complete incompetence with them, and thus extreme skepticism is at the very least understood, if not warranted. Forgive me for my Bears QB PTSD, but I've seen enough shitty QBs to last a lifetime, and I dont trust any QB in a Bears uniform until they've had 3 consecutive good to great seasons. I have to see it 3 times, otherwise I want to believe it is a flash in the pan. -

This is so true it isn't funny. What has anyone seen from Jock Itch Mitch to say he's any good? -

Really? I thought Lombardi was there after his Cleveland stint. I could have sworn he was there during this decade. -

Quoted 3 times for relevance. I hated that move when they did it, I understand the Mack move but I thought they couldn't afford to do that. -

I somewhat follow the Raiders and he was their GM before McKenzie. When Al Davis died his son fired everyone a year or two later. He was there as recently as 2012 or 13, IIRC. -

So you're saying he has no credibility? This one is over my head. Please explain. How can you blame anyone for taking the Patriots to win the SB until they're eliminated while Brady and Belichick are there? -

If they called the catch rule the way they called it during the regular season last year in the Super Bowl, the Patriots win handily. By the letter of the law for the majority of the 2017 season, 2 TDs should have been called incomplete by the Eagles. Not to mention that the Philly Special was an illegal formation. I hate the Patriots with every fiber of my being, but they got jobbed in that one. I will say they deserve it though. -

If you thought that until the clock said 00:00 and the Patriots lost the game, I wouldn't blame you. They have been unquestionably the best organization in football since 2001. They've been to at least the AFC title game every year since 2009 IIRC. -

BTW, to clarify, I was comparing Nagy/Schoop only in the unconscionable amount of lateral shit they ran. I know their offenses are nowhere near the same. I don't know why the Bears run that stuff when they haven't been able to execute it for 25 fucking years. -

Do you have a subscription to the Athletic? Go read what Michael Lombardi said about Trubisky. Sobering. https://theathletic.com/516018/2018/09/10/week-1-from-the-gms-eye-a-magical-ending-for-aaron-rodgers-a-concerning-one-for-mitchell-trubisky/ -

I know the difference between RPO and what was run in the NFL in 2002. Who cares about the RPO if Trubisky is too chicken shit to make the reads anyway? -

There was a LOT of lateral shit in this game. Running, passing, you name it. A LOT of 3 yard routes. That is a Schoop offense. Sorry man, I don't see how this isn't a Schoop offense. If the fact they ran a route SHORT OF THE STICKS ON 3RD &1 doesn't scream Schoop to you, then idk what does? -

Whatever. I get all of my sports negativity out on the Bears. They are the only team that hasn't won anything in my lifetime, so I can shit on them if I want. -

I was pissed that they blew a fucking 17 point lead with one quarter to go vs a QB on one leg. Forgive me for overreacting to that. -

Too much lateral shit for my liking. And for some reason the Bears are the only team in the NFL that can't fucking execute a WR Screen. Every other team gets 5-12 yards at least on those and the Bears get 0-2 or lose yardage consistently. It has been a theme for 25 years. No matter what OC is here, they can't execute a WR screen. From Turner under Wanne to Nagy Sunday night, nobody is worse at WR screens than the Bears. -
I agree with this 100%
