  9. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 07:37 PM) Jimenez deal not done yet Ubaldo Jimenez - S - Rockies The Rockies and Indians are in serious discussions about a trade involving Colorado starter Ubaldo Jimenez. What package Colorado would receive from Cleveland in return for Jimenez depends on the source you listen to. The Denver Post reports that a deal would center around Drew Pomeranz, Alex White and Jason Kipnis. FOX Sports is reporting that Pomeranz and White are the two primary names being discussed right now. Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Rockies asked for Pomeranz, Kipnis and Lonnie Chisenhall in return for Jimenez. White and Pomeranz have both been scratched from minor league appearances today, adding fuel to the fire, though Kipinis is still playing in Saturday's game. Stay tuned. 16. Roto: Craig Calcaterra of NBCSports.com reports that the Cardinals and Dodgers have agreed to the particulars of a deal that will send Furcal to St. Louis. There have been conflicting reports about whether Furcal would be willing to waive his no-trade clause to join the Cardinals, but Calcaterra agrees with Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, saying the shortstop is leaning towards approving the deal. The 33-year-old is batting under .200 for the season but sports a .303 mark (10-for-33) over his past nine games and has a .425 OBP over that span. He would also be a big defensive upgrade over Ryan Theriot. Related: Cardinals Source: Hardball Talk on NBCSports.com Jul 30, 2:30 PM
  17. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) We need offense and salary relief Young/Peavy contracts basically a wash. Sox won't be able to sign Danks soon so we get a cheap cost controlled player in Holland and replacement for Danks in the rotation. We need hitting desperately and Young sure can provide that . Can always call up Zach Stewart for the other spot. Texas gets plenty of pitching back but loses a big bat and gains salary. I'm not sure they would do it. That's why trading holland for danks makes no sense for the rangers, they're basically the same pitcher
