  1. Isn't the issue whether, or not, Eloy is at risk of aggravating the injury? If not, and it's simply a matter of pain, then why not allow him to play with the discomfort? I don't think that we have enough information to make such a determination.
  2. If that would be the case, I'd pass. How about you? I would rather look for a rental to fill the need for a LH bat, and hope that Colas will be the long term answer in RF.
  3. Would Colas, Jose Rodriguez, Thompson and Dalquist be enough for the Pirates to part with Reynolds? I personally doubt it.
  4. Who else would likely have to be included, to entice the Pirates?
  5. Reynolds won't be a free agent until 2026. He would almost certainly require too much in prospect capital. Nevertheless, if they do trade for him, they might as well include Colas, as he would be blocked by Reynolds for the next 3 years. How much more than Colas, would have to be included, is the question.
  6. The more that I learn about Camilletti, the more I like him. It wouldn't surprise me if this kid becomes a Big Leaguer and has a decent career. His extraordinary on base ability, and good glove could make him a very productive lead off hitter and second baseman. He may be 5' 9" but he looks very strong. He should hit a lot of doubles, and an occasional homer. It will be interesting to see his prospect ranking, in the Sox system. They have some intriguing middle infielders; Montgomery, Sosa, Rodriguez, Yolbert, and now Camilletti and Sprinkle. Sprinkle's glove and base running should translate to the pros. If he learns to hit a little better, he could surprise a lot of people. Guys can learn to hit, but you can't teach speed, agility and athleticism in the field, especially at SS.
  7. Interesting article about Michael Turner, the catcher from Arkansas: https://www.uatrav.com/sports/article_982d690a-ba91-11ec-b76d-ef92d9c7e99f.html
  8. Wouldn't you have to say that Camilletti and Elko are pretty good later picks?
  9. Did you guys see Camilletti's walk to strike out ratio? The last two years at Central Michigan he had 115 walks to 66 strike outs, resulting in a .500 OBP.
  10. I'm surprised that you thought of me. After all, he hits right handed. LOL Interesting, the year before he had 16 homers, in 160 at bats. So, two years in a row, he hit one homer, every 10 at bats.
  11. Yes, I misspoke.
  12. I know Tim Elko is a 25 year old, 5TH year college player, but 24 homers, in 240 at bats, in the SEC, is interesting.

The way Lynn is pitching, he better not be one of the 3 main starters, if the Sox end up in the Post Season. He is clearly not the same guy, after his knee surgery. Let's hope that he at least comes back healthy next season.

A few questions: 1) The way the rotation is performing, and if the Sox make the Post Season, who is your number 2 starter, after Cease? For me, I'd seriously consider Cueto. The guy has been simply remarkable. 2) Is anyone concerned that he is taking PED's again, or is it just hard work and recovery from his TJS? Incredible that it took so long for someone to offer him a contract. 3) If he holds up, the rest of the season, would you be in favor of trying to bring him back for at least one more year, and what do you think it would take? He is one guy, who just might be able to be effective, in his later 30's. He wouldn't be the first. He is the kind of pitcher who relies more on cunning and guile, than on power. A real pitcher, rather than a "thrower".
  15. I agree, and he is probably the only guy, in the organization, with the exception of Robert, who has that potential. He has demonstrated that he can also hit for a decent average.
  16. Yes Quin, thank you very much. I could have written Fegan's tweet, a long time ago.

Yes, and it seems that most did not pan out. Anderson is the rare exception. My point was that Colson is performing much better than the raw athlete, I expected.

When you consider that Montgomery was devoted to basketball, in high school and played in Indiana, where the weather is not conducive to Spring baseball, it suggests that he is still pretty raw and inexperienced. If this is how he looks now, who knows what he might become?

1 for 2 and a walk, and a RBI. Has anyone in Colson's draft class gotten off to this good of a start, in their pro career? He is really impressive. That has to be the longest on base streak in professional baseball, this season.

Could be the Sox double play tandem, when Tim leaves on his next contract, after the 2024 season. The way they're hitting, not sure that the Sox can keep them down on the farm, that long. I'm already anticipating Sosa to fill the keystone hole, next season, if not sooner.
  21. He is in CF for WS tonight.

Colas in CF for Winston Salem tonight!!

That is what I've been thinking. He has been killing RHP.
  24. I hear you. I've done the same thing, a lot lately. I look at the box score and usually watch the highlights. I did watch the Baltimore series, primarily to see Sosa.
  25. You should know better than that. I understand that is what you have done, but that's not for me.
