I just saw that tickets are on sale for Coldplay's '06 tour. :headshake I'm not saying I'm awesome because I saw Coldplay back in '00. I'm just saying that it's not even worth the wait, ticket price, bad seats to go see a band in a huge venue. They're playing the Wachovia Center in Philly where the sixers play and Continental Airlines Center in NJ, which offers cheap seats at the wachovia center to see the concert I've heard U2 is great, but other than that I can't imagine going to see a band with an audience over 1k people, and I'd draw the line at 500. The Trocodero in Philly

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) Mr. Denver actually was a heck of a person and he had a ton of talent. I don't own anything by him, but I really never understood the shame in liking him. On the Behind The Music episode with him, watching his Mom cry over his death at the end, that was some VERY sad stuff. the title of this thread should be in green. I'm very open to blue grass, country and folk. I never really listened much to JD....I'm quite happy that I downloaded a bunch of his stuff. Country roooooooooad...take me hooooooooooooooome....to the placeeeeeee...where I was borrrrrrrrrrrn....west virginiaaaaaa...mountain mama...take me home!

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) PA... is... being... sensitive? I didn't know it was possible. Even more scarily, we agree. HA! I'm aghast! I can be very sensitive to lots of things. My feelings, my hunger, my car breaking down, my job sucking, etc. If I can agree with Stef and Rex Kickass in one thread......the end is nigh.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 07:12 AM) It was expressed that the girl never should have had the thoughts in her head. That was the only point to which my post was relevent. yeah, who listens to stef anyway

QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 05:53 AM) Anger is a natural response to a tragic loss like she has suffered. but teaching the little girl the proper way to cope with that anger is the important thing. Nothing positive came from the girl's letter being published.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) You need massive amounts of page views to actually make money. I had 50K page views for the month of November, and made enough to cover my hosting with enough left over to buy me a value meal at McDonalds. I'm almost at 6 bucks in less that 2 weeks. costs me $12 to host, and I have less than 1k hits.

QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) Anyone use that Google toolbar with their Firefox? Any good or just more clutter in the browser? I like it a lot... and if you go to my site, click on the add, and install it... I get a buck. so it's great:)

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) I thought the same thing - but also - the letter came from a 9 year old who's hurting pretty bad. How the media got it, I don't know... what purpose did it serve? writing it to vent emotions and cope with the loss is totally understandable, but sending to the media? I mean, not to take this to a theological level, but there are a lot of prisoners who "find God" in prison. Say he finds salvation in Jesus (the girl seems to be professing that believe on one level or another) by that same account, they'll "be in heaven" together one day. explain that one to her one day... the letter should have been kept private

Ladies and Gentlemen.... five critics.com is up and running. check us out

I didn't think that letter was appropriate. I don't know, I'm not saying writing the letter is bad, but sending it to the news is. I know forgiveness is probably the farthest thing from their hearts, but that's what is needed to move on from something like this. There's anger in that letter, albeit raw 9-year old anger. But what can you do? she jus lost her daddy tragically. I just would have kept it private. Let the girl vent privately.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 08:37 AM) My friend and I were talking about this yesterday (prompted by Rent), and it seems like AIDS is so much less of a "forefront" idea these days. I remember when I was younger, through, maybe the mid/late 90s it was so huge in the public's mind and I really feel like now it's faded away from that consciousness. actors and film makers used to spend their time on issues like this and ram it down our throats. Unfortunately, it seems more and more time and money is spent towards "we hate bush" campaigns and less and less for people in need. that goes for both sides
