Thanks Jim, I appreciate and understand your opinion. but who said I wanted to pray for you? seriously though, my anthropology prof last semester spoke on the same lines as you, and I continue to research the history of my beliefs. It's interesting to see how the bible was formed and who set it in place to make all of it happen. I totally agree that it is difficult to trust a piece of literature that is a "product" of man, however, I have complete faith that the individuals whose words are written in the bible are words written on their hearts by God. I trust that in the formation of the bible, there were individuals that were in place to protect the message of Christ, much like the US rising to power as hilter threatened the world. Good people rise up when evil threatens their existance.

I saw like 4-5 people using it a second ago... I was just wondering why people use it. i did back when I first came back from my "break", just to observe. I know Cdub and Brando do all the time.

when a large portion of your yearly budget comes from tickets, you've got to be joking that officers aren't "encouraged" to pull a certain amount of speeders over. You want a paycheck? pull 20 people over this month... you want a raise next year? we can only afford it if you pull over 30 people in october, november and december. believe it

holy crow, what a great movie. aside from the ass-raping scene, I thought this was one of the best movies I've ever seen. chilling, really. you can kinda see why people buy into that BS... it's sad.

Here's a great example of coming to salvation: Jim, "God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden." It doesn't surprise me that you don't get it. You probably never will, and I'm sorry for that. please don't tell me that I need to adopt a new vision of who I believe God is because of your inability to understand where I stand in my faith. 1 Corinthians "18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.""

precisely... follow me for a second.... Middle Eastern countries clearly have our balls in their tight grip. We're locked into giving a rip about what goes on their primarily because of oil interests (also some due to our support for israel, see: "conservative christians and their blind support for a semi-terrorist nation") we're stagnate and not growing because we lack the true economic independence that would come from self-sufficient energy supplies. stay with me let's say we develop new testicles on our shoulders and call them "fuel cells, solar energy, maglev technology, etc" we don't need no stinking first set of balls. we'll circumvent the problem and leave them in the literal, dust. thoughts?

mostly because Joshua was leading the "practioners" around exterminating the prospective converts... but whatev

I don't know if "f*** them" is the appropriate venture, but maybe investing in non-petroluem based energy so that this is a total non-issue.

Who ever said God was open minded? Makes a lot of sense to me. He loves us all infinitely and desires for a relationship with all of us, which is why He gave us free choice, and why people continually reject or accept him. Yet, He makes the choice clear. Why would the crucifixtion even exsist if God had multiple ways to Him? What point does it serve otherwise? The son of God, Jesus, is the only way to salvation. I don't know why people get so ego-centric about God. Ultimately it is about Him. He wants everything in history and creation to know HE is AWESOME. If you choose to or not to accept Him, he's still awesome. The most boring arguement I've ever heard is "oh, that's so narrow minded". Read the Gospels, would be my suggestion. John 14: I am the way and the truth and the life, no one gets to the father, except through me. pretty narrow minded, sure, but that's God, not southsider saying that.

would it be too obvious if we sent Frank to the mound? like just keep him in until it starts raining again... "oh darn, looks like that inning lasted 2 and half hours...gotta call the game..."
