I'm 23. so in 3 years when we get married she'll be 22 and I'll be 26. Which to me, is the perfect age. (probably young for most girls, but if you knew her, you'd know why 4 years isn't a reach at all). no rush? no, not really, but when you konw, you know. I figure by then 26 will be enough time to have waited for sex...

19....we'll probably both be in grad school when we get married.

how sweet...I thought I was once in love, and gave her a nice ring that i payed 125 bucks for...turned out badly... but I'm cool, it's all cool... hehehe....ouch...sorry dude. I'm just confident about this chick. Besides, with all the money I've jacked from the bank, I'm fine if I blow a couple hundred bucks on this broad kidding....
-
Quick, tell him they were all counterfeit dollars!!! we just fired a kid because his drawer was missing 750 bucks.... yikes. I had a girl steal 1500 bucks from me once, but we caught her a week later. that was the worst week of my life.

I couldn't even get through february....I'm spent. my laptop battery is spent I mean....

haha, yeah...I'm staying at my stupid job. we won't discuss the other issue:)

Careful, she may take it the wrong way... Evidently I learned my lesson by putting roses in women's lockers I sent a love note too... then I got kicked in the ball sack and got beaten by her bf... I've consulted her best friend on style and I'm gonna talk to her mom about appropriateness.... she sent that in a letter to me today. she's not going to take it the wrong way. and beastly...I AM her boyfriend.

I don't think y'all understand the situation very well. She and I have been romantically involved for 1 year and a half. The distance isn't a problem at all, and one that's being fixed when I move to PA in may. she and I have just started being "official" when I talked to her parents this summer and got their blessing. I don't think many, if any, of you would understand it. We waited to kiss because, like now when I'm dying for the next one, it would have been too much at the time. hence why the distance isn't generally a problem. When you know she's the right one, you know. meh, thanks for your thoughts though... this is the one I'm gonna get.

I'd completely agree about Bonds v. Ruth. Where I have trouble is the fact that the beatles were the first to do what they do, which doesn't necessarily make them the BEST. A large portion of their music is quite simple and very pop in its implementation. However, they seemed to transform, like you said, into a very different band as they grew up and out of writing pop music. Let me say that I'm a fan of the beatles, but I quite possibly might be the "Boog_Alou95" of the beatles. good or bad, I just don't buy all the hype. I do love rocking out to "it was twenty years ago today..." or "well shake it..."

Paul McCartney wrote Rocky Racoon, and I believe he wrote Paperback writer also. Try again buddy... both songs are credited to both overrated musicians:) should I say, wanna be musicians:) Holy f***in s***!!! Tell me you are saying such things PA just to get a rouse from all us posters. I don't think that there should much argument to the statement that McCartney/Lennon was the best song writing duo that there has been in my lifetime, and IMO ever. The evolution that the band itself went through from 1962 to 1970 alone is more than most bands will ever attain, and the contrasting styles that Lennon and McCartney produced together will IMO NEVER be matched. Theres a lot of grbage being made since the Beatles that people claim is "great songwriting" but please, when compared to a real songwriting duo, it all falls short. playing right into my hands:) How do you guys feel about Barry Bonds being considered the best baseball player ever? as opposed to Babe Ruth? we'll talk then.

read through my posts and notice I never said "promise ring"..... I was going for, "you're the most amazing girl I've ever met, happy birthday, happy anniversary (one year), oh by the way, thanks for staying true to me while I'm 1700 miles away" ring. but whatever, I'm the insecure one. those are what I like...of course she'll hate them

Try again buddy... both songs are credited to both overrated musicians:) should I say, wanna be musicians:) How can a band that changed the face of music forever be overrated? I guess the Yankees have just been an average franchise while we are at it? Even if you don't personally like them, you have to give credit where credit is due. haha...the face of music. I'd agree they changed the music INDUSTRY, but not music itself. no way jose...

post you pic we'll put it to a poll...

mmmmmmmm....the ballad of john and yoko! there is no way in hell i'll agree on you with on that one. One of the greatest, but "Now somewhere in the black mountain hills of Dakota, There lived a young boy named Rocky Raccoon" I can't even finish it...ugh Paul McCartney wrote Rocky Racoon, and I believe he wrote Paperback writer also. A year or two ago, Sean Lennon released the biggest piece of garbage mistakenly referred to as a record album I've ever heard. It's obvious that he gets none of his "artistic" side from his father but rather, his Beatles killing mother YokOhNo. Julian Lennon was actually pretty big in the 80's for a short time wasn't he? He's had some decent albums, but he's never been huge. When you have John Lennon to live up to, it's pretty much given that you'll be a failure musically. yeah...who could forget songs like "I'm Down" and "Paperback Writer" Don't go there with John Lennon. The guy is the best songwriter ever. mmmmmmmm....the ballad of john and yoko! there is no way in hell i'll agree on you with on that one. for both of us... See what happens when you wait. I knew she was a keeper before, but I'm sold now. hopefully, I can avoid her finding out what a loser I am. (that's wide open for you guys...batter up)
-
definitely. I already talked to her best friend(one of my close friends and the reason we know each other). She's on a covert mission to find out if it's a good idea and what miss sox4life would like. I'll keep y'all posted.

a la England.... well said, in your colorful way Bob.

I've never understood the 'committed but not engaged' ring. To me (and it is just my opinion), that would take away something from an engagement ring, should you ever choose to give her one of those. Why not a nice pendant (maybe engraved or something) on a chain? Brian bought me a clauddah (I never could spell that word) on a silver chain two years ago and I have never taken it off. I see it as something that we could use as an heir-loom. I'm 90% sure that I'm going to marry this girl. I think something like this would be a sign of our respect for what we have but obviously it's not an engagement ring, which is 2 years off. I don't think it would take away from anything, because she won't wear it after I give her the engagment ring...(which obviously will have a heck of alot more meaning and beauty)
-
ok, I know I'm gonna get ragged and I'm taking your opinions with a handful of salt, but I'm thinking about getting miss sox4life a ring. Here's the situation: I'm going up to PA in January. The trip will fall right on our 6 month anniversary (actually one year, but that's another story) and her birthday.(and obviously right after christmas). So my thoughts are to get her a "nice but not crazy expensive, committing, but not like we're gonna get married" ring thoughts? I know I know, I just kissed her whatever...y'all don't understand.

As do I. Wouldn't it be nice if we could always debate like this instead of stooping to personal attacks. now you're just getting silly

Hamilton Bio just in case anyone wanted to check it out. Humble background. very interesting.

great another beatle off-spring to shower us with crappy music.

I applaud the quality posts guys. Much appreciated. I understand that party politics have always been around, but I'd argue that things are worse now than ever because of mass media covering events the minute they happen. Regardless, they were making this stuff as they were going. I'd like to read a biography on Hamilton. He was 20 when the Revolutionary war broke out. He was 30 when they were working on the Constitution. How many of us change/refine our opinions during that decade? I'm in the middle of that right now and I can tell you while I started off being gun-ho about guns and lessened my opinion, like Hamilton, I still saw value and the importance of a society with the ability to chose gun ownership. personal aside: I do not think the State of Texas and its constituency would ever stand for things like making handguns or gas-guzzeling trucks(off topic, sorry) illegal. joking aside, I think things like that would cause revolutionary events. they're just THAT fanatical about those issues.
