    The Office

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 09:02 PM) Sort of a downer episode this week. I dont think I have seen Michael that subdued in an episode ever. Im happy Dwight is back, but I am kind of surprised they didnt drag it out a little longer. Messing with Andy was funny, I liked the phone trick. I liked Dwights moments at Staples too, "If you need anything, I will literally be right here". I don't know, I like Michael best when he's not so totally off the wall, frankly it gets a little unbelievable, and you get those "there's no WAY he wouldn't be fired" moments. It's the moments that are quietly funny and horribly uncomfortable that Michael's the best in, IMO.
  2. I love this thread. The stories really back up that whole perception of the Sox as that "neighborhood team" with a lot more soul (the unassuming, blue-collar South Side kind) than a lot of other clubs. Makes me miss home!
  3. We're from Beverly originally, so that helped, but I didn't really get into baseball all that much, despite my grandfather's consistent prodding (other than watching the Sox on TV with him). I do remember clearly being proud of my spiffy Reebok Big Hurt sneakers at the age of six. The moment I really, truly started to follow every game was Esteban Loaiza's 21-win season when I was 14, in 2003. Coincidentally, when we traded him for Jose the next year, I was SO pissed, plus Chris Berman was predicting we got ripped off. We all know how THAT turned out. So Esteban taught me to love the Sox, and also that I needed to join SoxTalk, since ESPN knows nothing.
  4. I'd say .280/20/80. I agree with knightni about the power numbers, I never really saw him as a power guy but Ozzie and others have always said there is that potential, so the third season would be when it would show up, I'd think.
  5. I don't think they'll go as quick as last year, if I had to guess. What I do know is I'm skipping class and coming back 940 miles to be there - I cannot freaking wait!
  6. Thanks! Glad to start posting a bit after reading y'all for a while.
  7. Well, it's precisely because of that defense that you guys mention that I think they're going to keep him around for a bit, because that's quite valuable in the pitching/defense scheme we run on. Also, since it'd be stupid to try to get rid of a guy whose current value is nowhere near his ceiling, I'd expect the Brian Anderson Experiment to continue unless he screws something up too bad for it to continue, i.e. doesn't improve AT ALL offensively. I think if he can bat in the .240-.250 AVG range with similar power numbers and a general upward trend going forward, really the Sox offense needs nothing more out of that spot, and we can expect to see him in the outfield for a few years to come, which'd be okay, albeit not ideal.
