QUOTE(minors @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) The war could still be on going in 08. Iraq is a country which supports Terrorism and it needed to dealt with. And by 2008 we could be at war with Libya, North Korea or Iran or all of them who knows, but a cut and run strategy in this war on terror could and most likely lead to another attack if that were to happen while a lib was in office the party could be dealt a huge blow. I recommend that we add a new nation to the "countries we could be at war with" list, but this country is one we absolutely should be at War with. It's a new addition, and I don't believe that many people have talked it up yet as the threat that it is but I, being a foreign policy visionary, will. I am talking about Peru. We've got to invade Peru. It is paramount to American survival. Now think about it -- Osama bin Laden has evaded capture. We didn't find Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. It might seem unrelated to you, but that's because you've not the subtlety to understand. Those WMD didn't just get up and leave by themselves -- it was bin Laden who took them! I'm not sure exactly how, but intelligence suggests that he hid them in his beard. Osama's calculation was that the United States would look foolish because of the whole debacle, and he knew that only in Machu Picchu Peru could he be safe. He figured that, hey, nobody pays attention to that part of the World as it is, and there he went. It makes more sense than going to war with a nuclear North Korea, a country like Iraq but for one letter, and, frankly, I haven't got a clue why we'd ever attack Libya, considering that Bush considers it one of his greatest peaceful accomplishments. (Not that they really had much of a program to begin with: http://www.slate.com/id/2103989/ ) So let's hop to it, and git 'er done: WMD in Peru, and bin Laden too! shall be our war cry.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 12:44 AM) The day Oz has to shut his mouth is the day he should resign. Oz has to be Oz. He shut his mouth when he was speaking the truth about A-Rod. He should shut his mouth now that he's throwing a hissy fit about not speaking enough English to take a sensitivity course. He can't always be his own boss, and this is one of those battles you've gotta just say, "It ain't worth fighting" -

QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 12:44 AM) But I can't be legit because I lost my temper one day last August, that's what you don't understand. Clearly you're a bandwagoner. Hell, you probably fall off the wagon all the time. That's probably why you're laying like that on that field. From falling too hard and then having to rest due to injury. You bandwagoner, you. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 12:40 AM) And for the record I never "threatened to kill" anyone. I did yell at some people to sit down as did a lot of people in that section. The threaten to kill thing was posted mainly out of frustration seeing how I had just gotten home from the game. Hey guys, cut the personal crap. Try to stay on topic here. Well, I'm glad you didn't ACTUALLY threaten to kill anyone, although I didn't really think you did, which is why I asked. I was going by your words, and that was all. -

This should be the part where he shuts his mouth and undergoes training before he makes matters worse for himself and the team. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) Isn't it incredibly rude to stand up in front of someone and yell at the top of your lungs while they're trying to watch a game that they paid money to see? It doesn't bother me too much. Don't most people make a lot of noise at the ballpark? I know where you're coming from, but all the same, you're a notch higher than someone if you're sitting behind them, so if they stand, you can stand, too, or ask them to sit. Always works for me. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) Yes, I did and I'm not the only one. That's the American experience at a ballpark as dreamed by every child: to one day join a mob in threatening a group of waving people. All the same, you should be careful, Kal, but each makes his own decisions and we all decide what makes us safe. If threatening the safety of others over something childish does it for you, I won't judge. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) Because anyone who does it is not a fan. How's that? If you do the wave in a close game or hell, ever, you should be banned from the god damn ballpark. FROM EXACTY ONE MONTH AGO TODAY: Gotta love that passion -- they're not god damned fans, should be banned from the park, death threats and anger anger everywhere. Did you really threaten everyone around you? I'm a tad surprised that someone who criticizes Ozzie for his childish outbursts would do such a thing. You ought to be careful, you know, if you do go about threatening strangers at ballparks. ---------------------- I dislike the wave, but I don't personally hate it. Doesn't bother me, doesn't interest me. -

Nuke: I think you misspoke, but I have to ask: You're not saying that old people with cancer and AIDS victims are jackasses who want medical marijuana just to smoke, are you? You don't have to change your position or anything, but I think you should admit to, ah, an error in diction there.

FBI brings the hammer down on terror cell in Miami.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 04:19 PM) Looks like it was some good ol fashioned HUMINT that helped collar these guys. http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/06/23/miami.raids/index.html Collar these guys? I'll drink to that, AND to Human Intelligence! A certain someone thought I was being eye-rollinglly dumb in pointing out that there are plenty of ways to stop terrorists and that not all of them involve the Patriot Act or Wiretapping! How dare I say that pre-9/11 and post, we had plenty of techniques capable of stopping major attacks and that we still do, even outside of the Revolutionary and Unstoppably Crime Stopping PatAct and Wiretapz!! QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 11:04 AM) Yep, 9/11 and Oklahoma City clearly show that we were doing just great without the Patriot Act and wire-tapping programs. :rolly This plot and the Milennium plots and several plots of the 1990s clearly show that we CAN do just great without them! Note that, as I've said, I'm a proponent of the Patriot Act, but I do think you were being a tad reactive in saying the above in response to this, QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:37 AM) Yeah, I'll bite, if no one else will do anything but cheers it. I'm willing to say that Foreign Intelligence, likely from the CIA or some other source, had more to do with this than Domestic Wiretapping for sure, and possibly than the Patriot Act. Of course, I haven't got a single problem with the Patriot Act, but I don't like Domestic Wiretapping. My guess is so because we've caught plenty of terrorists before and broken up terrorist cells without the NSA Wiretapping Program, and without the Patriot Act. I'm sure we could very well do it again. I'd bet that someone we have captured somewhere overseas has more to do with this than we do -- someone giving us a tip, perhaps, or someone we forced one out of. I think it's petty to oversimplify this by saying, "LOL PATRIOT ACT I'LL DRINK TO THAT LOL!!" You know what I'll drink to? The work of the FBI and the analysts at the CIA. I boldened the part that I'd especially like to highlight. I wasn't completely right, and so I shouldn't get too happy, but I did say that a tip could be possible, and it was indeed human intelligence that got us our men. Like with the other plots we've broken up before. I wish I had said human intelligence rather than foreign, though. -

QUOTE(minors @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) Well Thanks but maybe I should change a some of the words because I certainly do not want to sound like her Ann Coulter :finger If it's any consolation, I've never heard her use the word "hippies" or "hippie" Do you hate Coulter because of that comment she made to a Vietnam Veteran who had opposed the war and had lost his legs, where she said, "It's people like you that cost us the war!"?

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) I didn't give credit to wiretapping and the Patriot Act for this bust. All I did was to invite people to speculate about whether they were a factor or not. Never said you did, Nuke.
