NYT discloses secret program to track terrorist finances.
Gregory Pratt replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in The Filibuster
http://www.thehill.com/thehill/export/TheH...06/nytimes.html Maybe we should start marking the homes of Newspaper Editors and striking down their first-borns whenever they step out of line? -
QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 11:40 AM) Well its on google video, anyone can put videos on there. What, you haven't heard about this before today or something? Do a quick google search for, I don't know, "9/11 families for truth" or "Inside Job + 9/11" and you'll see plenty of organizations in America who hold onto this nonsense as a crutch. Banned in America. Pah!

Get on out and vote!
-
He still has to get the votes.

He's the only White Sox player with a reasonable chance of making it into the game. I suggest that everyone on this board go to the All-Star ballot and fill one out. Do an All-Sox ballot, or not, but at least, vote for Iguchi at second. Drop in a couple of hundred votes. Put in your fake email, make a fake account, or just pull one out of your ass. After your first ballot, your ballot is saved so you can revote easily and quickly. We can't just give up, so let's get to it!

QUOTE(minors @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) You have it all wrong. You protect the flag at all costs. And that was an eloquent speech but it really is total BS again, because I don't have to deal with flag burning. I also noticed that other than couple Rep-Dem switched lines it was the same ole damn hard line liberals like Kerry, Clinton and so on who opposed it. My question is why do they hate America so much yet still hold the office as US senator? Maybe because they actually don't really care about these issues and it just way to disagree with republicans and President Bush so they can scratch a few more votes in November. These are not patriots just scum suckers Spot on, Minors. I concur. To the Flag Burning Amendment! To bringing it back during each Congress! -
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) I've heard Tejada's name mentioned a lot, and not necessarily for steroids. Human Growth? What'd you hear? And where?

QUOTE(minors @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 09:53 PM) Execution Well no more countdown needed bye bye thug. So much for him saying he couldn't be killed because he was an angel. One less thug on this planet. To the State of Texas It's pretty thuggish to sit around cheering an execution, Warden. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) Is that enough for the death talk, he might have deserved to die but there is no need for countdowns and this cheering. HIPPIE! -
First he gets caught with Oxycontin, now Viagra. I guess it's official: He's an insensitive prick!

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 07:19 PM) Come on Rex. 27 years, 40 years... it's not that much of a difference. Ever since 1979, perhaps even a little before, they've wanted this technology. Let's not argue semantics. It is absolutely a large difference, especially when you consider that Iran went just short of a decade at war with Iran. 27 years and forty -- huge gap there, and then subtract nine from twenty seven, and you've got a lot less years to pursue nuclear weapons -- weapons that take years -- and it gives a very different view of the situation. It's important to have a genuine timeframe here, Kap. Personally, I think some sort of action has to be taken, but the Iranians are still a ways off of their nukes, and I think it's important to keep that in perspective.

Scientists Ok Gore's Movie for Accuracy

QUOTE(Soxy @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) Wow, I don't think I've ever been this offended at a Soxtalk post. Congratulations, your inane comment and complete ignorance of the grant reviewal and application process wins you a big prize. Well, to a minimal extent he has a point: scientists have lied about their results, historically. I'd direct you to the Korean Stem Cell Scientist, for one. But, I share your disgust. I'm just pointing out that there ARE scientists who lie. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) The great Anthony Reyes gave up 2 runs to the first 2 batters he faced tonight. I guess you can postpone his HOF induction. He was running quite slow to 1st base...are you sure he reached it? He got there after the first baseman was leaving and then he shrieked, threw his arms out and it was humorous. -

Holy s***, Roger Clemens is pitching in the fifth inning, with one out, and he's only thrown forty total pitches. -

QUOTE(beautox @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 06:15 PM) whys that? Ah, it's a long tale involving lost romance and a variety of other things. Let's just say, instead, that I'm a closet Pirates fan. -

QUOTE(minors @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 05:16 PM) Under 7 hours until you are dead!!! Enjoy what little time you have left and think about how you destroyed all of the families. Rot in Hell Am I the only one who thinks it's creepy to gloat over a serial killer's pending death on a message board?

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 12:32 PM) Ah the glorious smell of partisanship in the morning. Funding Al Qaeda, giving them weapons, money and training = good foreign policy Printing a paper that shows a program that anybody with half a brain could figure out would be in operation (Come on, you mean to tell me that nobody was thinking that perhaps, just perhaps, the government would be tracking money? It's common f***ing sense) = TREASON They've been using the "follow the money" tactic for years to try to nail the major drug cartels (I'm looking at you, Colombia) Why is it so much of a stretch that they'd use it for terror investigations? I fail to see how the knee-jerkers here would be shocked, let alone terrorists who likely have figured that it is a given that their finances are being tracked. And don't tell anybody -- but SWIFT has been around since 1973. Oh s***, I told a secret! -
